New Delhi: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former news presenter Lauren Sanchez are the subject of surprising criticism as their wedding festivities get underway in Venice. 'Why Is Jeff Bezos wedding invitation being trolled?' ABC News, which obtained the wedding invitation card of the ceremony, shared a glimpse of the invite. The invitation card is decorated with a collage of butterflies, birds, feathers and shooting stars in shades of pink and blue. These visual representations on the wedding invitation card have not gone down well with social media users, who have harshly ridiculed it online. One user commented on X, "Wow, what an ugly announcement/invitation. With all the money he has they could have at least done something pretty and classy." "That invite is atrocious. Obviously, money can't buy taste or class," said another user. 'Did Bezos ask ChatGPT to design this in 30 seconds?' said one user. One user commented, "Was the invitation made in Microsoft Paint?" "All that money and they couldn't hire a designer?' said another user. 'This looks like a 15-year-old made it on Canva,' wrote another user. All that money, this invite?: Jeff Bezos wedding card mocked as 'ugly' and 'tacky' online; internet roasts - 'Taste can't be bought'
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's upcoming 'wedding of the century' in Venice was always bound to grab headlines - lavish, star-studded, and shrouded in exclusivity. But what no one saw coming? That the invitation card would steal the show and not in a good way. The multi-day extravaganza, reportedly hosting around 200 A-listers from Hollywood, tech, and politics, has already drawn fire for contributing to Venice's overtourism crisis. Critics say it's yet another example of billionaires turning cities into backdrops while locals are priced and pushed out. But now, the conversation has taken a turn, from too much luxury to not enough taste. ABC News obtained an image of the wedding invitation, and the internet hasn't been the same since. The card is adorned with cartoonish doves, feathers, butterflies, shooting stars, and Venetian landmarks, gondolas and bridges included. What might have been intended as whimsical and romantic is now being dragged across X (formerly Twitter) as tacky, outdated, and, cheap-looking. 'All that money and they couldn't hire a designer?' one user said. Another took a dig by saying, 'This looks like a 15-year-old made it on Canva.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trending in in 2025: Local network access control [Click Here] Esseps Learn More Undo Another mentioned, 'Straight out of Microsoft Paint.' While an internet user quipped, 'Proof that taste cannot be bought.' Some even joked it looked like AI-generated clip art, with one user saying, 'Did Bezos ask ChatGPT to design this in 30 seconds?' While Bezos has spent the last year flaunting his new $500 million yacht, 'Koru', and planning a celebration fit for royalty, the humble invite has become the internet's latest obsession, and not in the way the couple likely intended. But perhaps the irony is poetic: In an age where billionaires are building space rockets and planning underwater internet cables, it turns out the real rocket fuel for the public imagination is still... a bad wedding card. As the festivities gear up in Venice, it's unclear whether Bezos will respond to the invite backlash. But one thing is certain, the internet RSVP'd with a resounding: 'This could've been prettier.'

Internet Asks If Jeff Bezos' Wedding Invitation ‘Was Made In MS Paint?'
Last Updated: A picture of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding invitation card has gone viral on the internet. While Venice has been largely preparing for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's multi-million-dollar wedding plans, eyes are now set on the couple's not-so-grand invitation card. There might be a lot of ways to invite people to something special, like a wedding; the world had a lot of expectations when it came from the third richest person in the world. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding invitation card did come as a surprise for many, but not as anticipated. A picture of the invite has recently gone viral, grabbing a lot of attention on the internet. Printed in italic font with haphazard decorations of doves, shooting stars, butterflies, and even the Rialto Bridge, the card appears to be homemade; however, not in an artistic way. The card also features men rowing gondolas around the famed bridge. What appears to be a subtle nod to the city's culture and heritage failed to impress the internet, as many expressed their disappointment. Users strongly criticised the invitation for being 'flat," further stating that the expectations were much higher, owing to the billionaire's wedding budget. One wrote, 'This invitation looks like an 11-year-old made it," while another one joked, 'Was the invitation made in Microsoft Paint?" One of the users even recreated a similar card and added a hilarious message, which he claimed took only 15 minutes. I recreated this masterpiece in Microsoft Paint in 15 minutes. — Whody (@Mr_Incredi_Bull) June 25, 2025 'What a heartless invite. Seems like a business dinner for donors," a comment read. An unimpressed X user wrote, 'This was the best their wedding planner came up with? My goodness, Lisa Vanderpump's daughter from Housewives did better than this for her wedding." Referring to the 'gifts" part in the invite, a user commented, 'The donation is very generous, but the invitation itself is not what I would expect from a billionaire." I don't know, it looks like clip art." Bezos and Sanchez's wedding invite features a special message for the guests, as the couple asked them not to bring gifts. 'We are making contributions in your honour and with gratitude to you for making the journey to celebrate with us in Venice. Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard the city's cultural heritage, to CORILA to restore the vital lagoon habitats that protect Venice's future, and to Venice International University to support research and education for sustainable solutions." Amid the growing buzz surrounding the wedding, the Amazon founder and his fiancée have already landed in Venice. They are said to get hitched later this week. The wedding festivities for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former news anchor Lauren Sanchez have already begun in Venice, but the couple has found itself at the centre of an unexpected criticism - their wedding invitation. A glimpse of the invite, obtained by ABC News, has triggered a wave of ridicule online. The couple, together for six years, will exchange vows in a multi-day celebration said to include an official ceremony on the picturesque island of San Giorgio Maggiore on Friday, June 27. "This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories. Apple's 'Liquid Glass' was meant to be the showstopper at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), but it was panned by netizens as the company's new design interface language failed to was touted to be a marvel in software aesthetics quickly spiralled into a meme fest on social media. A user on microblogging platform X termed it 'iOS for toddlers', while another asked whether the new UI 'was designed on Microsoft Paint'. The event itself generated mixed reactions owing to underwhelmed expectations, particularly over significant artificial intelligence (AI) advancements. The new interface that functions similarly to glass in the real world was being dubbed as the biggest visual overhaul to Apple's operating systems in over a decade. However, what immediately became a major talking point was the practical concerns about readability and accessibility. "I'm a bit concerned with readability," American YouTuber and influencer Marques Brownlee wrote on X. The readability concern was one that resonated with people, especially with white text against light or varied backgrounds in notifications and other UI elements. Oppenheimer's Martin Yang wrote of 'significant potential degradation of readability due to the see-through design', citing 'early user feedback'. The Liquid Glass' colour changes automatically between light and dark surroundings based on the material around it. It is now available for developers to test and finetune their apps ahead of its official release later this year. The aim is to bring a unified, modern and highly interactive and aesthetic interface across all its critics and social media users also began drawing parallels between Liquid Glass and Microsoft's Aero Glass design from Windows Vista, which was known for its translucent elements. While they spoke of how Apple's implementation is likely more refined, the comparison raked up conversations surrounding a perceived lack of Research analysts said it "looks very nice but isn't exactly the kind of stuff that drives the 'buy orders' on the trading desk". WWDC is Apple's annual event used to represent the cutting edge with software engineers, but analysts said it has lost its pre-eminence lately owing to underwhelmed expectations, particularly regarding significant AI advancements. At a time when there's ground-breaking work being done with AI and the likes of OpenAI, Microsoft, Google and Meta putting their might behind advancements in the space, many analysts and tech enthusiasts expressed disappointment over the lack of significant AI innovations. Another aspect that put a dampener on investor sentiment was that the company admitted it needs more time to complete its long-delayed overhaul of the Siri voice assistant which some said showed Apple is struggling to meet investor demands for innovation in AI. Bob O'Donnell, president and chief analyst at TECHnalysis Research, wrote in an opinion piece that it is critical both strategically and economically for Apple to start creating meaningful AI features.
