Million-strong Sana'a march denounces Gaza genocide, condemns Israeli aggression on Iran, vows continued support
Sana'a – Saba: The capital Sana'a on Friday witnessed a truly million-strong march, a powerful demonstration under the slogan "We continue to support Gaza and the holy sites, no matter what the challenges." This immense gathering served as a resounding affirmation of loyalty and unwavering support for the Palestinian people, coupled with a fierce rejection of the recent Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The roaring crowds, filling Sana'a's main squares, unequivocally affirmed their commitment to continuing all levels of support for their "brothers in Gaza" and the resolute defense of Islamic holy sites. This stance was presented as a firm, principled, and irreversible choice, deeply rooted in religious, faithful, and brotherly responsibility. Participants blessed the precise military operations carried out by the Yemeni armed forces against vital targets of the Zionist enemy in occupied territories, acknowledging their success in imposing a naval blockade and air embargo on enemy ports and airports. The participants concurrently called upon the armed forces to intensify these qualitative operations until the Zionist enemy ceases its aggression on Gaza and lifts its debilitating blockade. The vast multitude appealed to Arab and Islamic regimes and peoples alike to fulfill their religious, humanitarian, and brotherly responsibilities towards the Palestinian people, who are currently subjected to "a crime of genocide, siege, and unprecedented starvation in full view of the world." The marchers asserted that the prolonged silence of these Arab and Islamic regimes has only encouraged the "Zionist enemy" to perpetuate its heinous crimes and massacres against children and women in Gaza. In a renewed show of unity, the masses reiterated their absolute mandate to the Leader of the Revolution, Mr. Abdulmalik al-Houthi, empowering him to make all appropriate choices necessary to support the Palestinian people and respond decisively to the crimes of the Zionist enemy. They also announced the continuation of popular mobilization, general mobilization, and enrollment in open military courses, underscoring Yemen's firm position in solidarity with Gaza. This resolve included stressing their full readiness to engage in battle with the "Zionist enemy" and to continue popular events and million-person marches in support of Gaza. A core message of the march was its strong condemnation of the "blatant Zionist aggression" against the "brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran," which was seen as a grave provocation to all peoples of the Islamic nation. The demonstrators emphatically stressed Iran's legitimate right to respond to this "Zionist aggression." Chants filled the air, expressing solidarity with Gaza and Al-Aqsa, proclaiming readiness for jihad, and affirming unwavering support for the Yemeni leadership. A comprehensive statement issued by the Million March, read by Justice and Human Rights Minister Judge Mujahid Abdullah, explained that this massive turnout was a direct response to Allah Almighty, the call of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the directives of Leader Abdulmalik Al-Houthi. The statement underscored that the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, coupled with ongoing "Zionist massacres," makes it more imperative than ever for everyone to genuinely support Palestinians, confront the "famine engineering" by the "Zionist and American enemy," and expose the malicious scheme to cover up starvation crimes through purportedly "criminal American companies" recruiting traitors to spread chaos and steal aid within Gaza. The statement concluded by emphasizing the Yemeni people's unwavering commitment to standing by Gaza and its resistance, expressing full confidence in Iran's ability to not only withstand but also "teach the Zionist enemy the harshest lessons." It offered sincere condolences for the martyred Iranian military commanders and scientists, praising their dedication. The statement delivered a stark warning to the peoples of the nation about imminent divine punishment for inaction, especially towards the ongoing aggression in Gaza and desecration of al-Aqsa. The statement also called out Arab and Islamic regimes that continue to send ships to the Zionist enemy while activists struggle to break Gaza's blockade, urging them to fear the "curse of history" and "darkened faces in this world before the hereafter." Political parties put their full weight behind armed forces
ISLAMABAD: With tensions between nuclear-armed rivals India and Pakistan flaring once again, National Assembly turned into a political war zone on Friday. In a fiery parliamentary session following deadly skirmishes along the Line of Control (LoC), political and religious leaders praised the armed forces for their 'strategic response' to Indian aggression – but it wasn't long before opposition lawmakers torched the government over diplomacy, defence, and democracy. Leading the charge was Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), who vowed his party's volunteer force, Ansar-ul-Islam, would join the military in defending Pakistan – with seminary students also ready to 'stand shoulder to shoulder' with the army. 'We've handed responsibilities to our men,' Fazl thundered. 'In these trying times, our seminaries are not detached – every citizen must be ready to take part in civil defence.' In the same breath, Maulana also announced 'Million March' rallies in Peshawar and Quetta this month to show solidarity with the military, while delivering a blistering critique of Pakistan's diplomatic 'inertia.' 'I'm not satisfied with this government,' he said bluntly. 'They've contacted Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia – but that's not enough. Phone calls don't cut it. We needed special envoys, face-to-face visits with China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.' He also accused India and Israel of forming an anti-Islamic alliance and urged Pakistan to expose attacks on mosques and Madrassas on the world stage. 'There is no room for ambiguity,' Rehman said. 'The government must lead with clarity, strength, and unity.' Defence Minister Khawaja Asif hit back, assuring lawmakers that the Foreign Affairs Ministry headed by Ishaq Dar was in daily contact with key allies and that Islamabad's UN mission was 'effectively presenting Pakistan's position.' 'We're not sitting idle,' Asif said. 'China, Iran, UAE – they're all with us. Türkiye and Azerbaijan have openly backed us.' Asif also confirmed the military had shot down five Indian jets – including three French-made Rafales – and multiple drones, claiming 'India's designs were thwarted,' sending shockwaves through its media and political ranks. 'Our forces are fighting valiantly,' he added. 'The morale of our people, our forces, and even political parties is sky high.' National Food Security Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain joined the chorus of praise, declaring the military 'the best in the world,' while Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi didn't hold back: 'India is the biggest terrorist in the world,' he fumed, adding that Pakistan had already provided proof of Indian-backed terrorism. Lawmakers across the aisle echoed support for the troops, but not all were in a flag-waving mood. Members of the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) turned the debate into a full-frontal assault on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). PTI's Shandana Gulzar Khan lobbed a stinging rebuke at the Sharif family's 'cozy ties' with Indian PM Narendra Modi. 'He [Modi] openly says that he came to Pakistan without a visa and had biryani in Lahore,' she sneered, referencing Modi's infamous visit to the niece's wedding of Nawaz Sharif in Lahore. Another PTI lawmaker, Sanaullah Mastikhel, referred to the current government as the 'Form 47 regime' – a dig at the disputed 2024 election results. His mic was abruptly cut during his fiery remarks.
