Jensen Ackles Talks ‘Supernatural's Jared Padalecki & Misha Collins' Appearance on ‘The Boys': 'Don't Make Me Look Bad'
With the fifth and final season of The Boys approaching, Eric Kripke has something special in store for fans of his work. Soldier Boy actor Jensen Ackles recently teased his reunion with Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins ahead of the Prime Video series' concluding episodes, for which their characters have not yet been revealed. More from Deadline Jared Padalecki On Reteaming With Eric Kripke For 'The Boys': 'The Answer Is Yes' 'The Boys' Season 5: Everything We Know So Far Eric Kripke Bids Farewell To 'The Boys' Set As He Wraps Final Season 'We see each other more often than you would think — honestly, at least once a month,' he told People after they starred in Kripke's CW series for 15 seasons from 2005 to 2020. Ackles added, 'It was weird. It was like inviting my friends over to somebody else's house for dinner. I was like, 'Listen, guys, don't make me look bad. I got to stay here.' They were amazing. I can't wait to talk more about it because it was quite an experience.' After Kripke expressed his desire to work with Padalecki on the concluding season of The Boys, the actor told Deadline he's in. 'The answer is yes,' he said last June. 'We have talked [about a role]. As a matter of fact, we talked today,' added Padalecki. 'I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever.' After Ackles joined the series as Soldier Boy during Season 3, his and Padalecki's Supernatural onscreen dad Jeffrey Dean Morgan appeared as Joe Kessler via Billy Butcher's hallucination in Season 4. This week, Kripke bid farewell to The Boys set as he wrapped the finale. 'It's bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude,' he wrote in part. 'We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you're lucky. We got all of them.' The final season of The Boys, premiering in 2026, comes after Season 4 topped the Nielsen streaming scores for the first time, setting multiple records for Prime Video. Jensen Ackles: 'Supernatural' reunion for 'The Boys' was 'good time'
1 of 3 | Misha Collins, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles of "Supernatural" arrive on the red carpet at The CW Network's Upfront in 2018. File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo June 24 (UPI) -- Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles says reuniting with his former co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins for The Boys Season 5 was a "really good time." The actor, 47, discussed the fifth and final season of The Boys when he stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday. "So, Eric Kripke, who created Supernatural -- he is also the writer-showrunner of The Boys," Ackles told Fallon. "When he likes to work with somebody, he likes to continue working with them. And I was the benefactor of that, obviously. But then he thought, 'Oh, what a great idea. Let's just bring the cast back together.'" Supernatural premiered on the WB in 2005 before moving to the CW for its sophomore season. The series ran for 15 seasons, through 2019. It starred Ackles and Padalecki as brothers Dean and Sam, respectively. Together, they faced various obstacles presented by paranormal entities. Collins also starred. "It was funny because there was a little, like, concern that, you know, we're gonna get Jared and Misha and Jensen together, and it's gonna be a little wacky, because, 15 years together, we got a little off," he added. "...It was a really good time. I can't wait to be able to say more." Ackles, Padalecki and Collins announced the casting in February. Ackles portrays Ben, or Soldier Boy, on The Boys, which follows a team of vigilantes who take issue with dishonorable superheroes. The show is adapted from the comic series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Prime Video has yet to announce a premiere date for Season 5.

THE BOYS Creator Teases Season 5 Will Bring the SUPERNATURAL Trio Back Together on Screen — GeekTyrant
The end of The Boys is setting up a Supernatural reunion fans have been excited about with Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins officially set to share the screen once again thanks to The Boys . In a recent chat with TV Insider, creator Eric Kripke confirmed that the beloved Supernatural trio will appear together in Season 5 of The Boys , which will also serve as the final season of the hit Prime Video series. He said: 'It's a blast. We already shot it. I will confirm that Jared, Jensen, and Misha are all in the same frame together, and in the same storyline, and interacting with each other.' According to Kripke, the reunion is fully baked into the story and extends beyond just the actors. He explained: 'Having the five of us back together on set, filming, was just so fun and like a high school reunion, and you immediately fall into all your old patterns. 'It was really heartwarming and nice to like immediately be brought back to these guys that I love and haven't had them all together, at least in a professional capacity, in years and years. So it was really, really meaningful.' Ackles is already a chaotic force in The Boys universe as Soldier Boy, whose return was teased in the post-credits scene of Season 4. The big mystery now is who Padalecki and Collins are playing, and whether they'll be friend or foe. Kripke has been clear that Season 5 will wrap up the core story he's been building since the series launched in 2019. Back in June 2024, he confirmed the final season was greenlit and designed to be the endpoint all along. 'Lots of death' and 'apocalyptic' stakes have been teased, and Kripke even admitted that the scripts were being updated into early 2025 to reflect real-world events, which is something the show has never shied away from skewering. While the main series will conclude, The Boys universe isn't slowing down. Gen V Season 2 is on track for a 2025 release, picking up immediately after the events of The Boys Season 4. That means more chaos, more blood, and a follow-up on Homelander's shocking rise to authoritarian rule. The new season will also address the tragic loss of actor Chance Perdomo, with his character's death written into the story. On top of that, there's The Boys: Mexico , a Spanish-language spinoff with Blue Beetle 's Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer as showrunner and Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal producing, and possibly appearing. Meanwhile, Vought Rising , a Cold War-era prequel, will spotlight a young Soldier Boy (again played by Ackles) and Stormfront in her original identity as Clara Vought. There's no official release date for The Boys Season 5 just yet, but 2026 is looking likely. Are you excited for the Supernatural reunion in The Boys ?
