Benson Boone's Crumbl Cookies collaboration is getting an encore

Benson Boone and Crumbl are clearly flipping for one another. On June 29, Crumbl announced that its partnership with the 'Beautiful Things' singer — the Moonbeam Ice Cream Cookie — is making an encore appearance on Crumbl's rotating menu, marking the first time in Crumbl's history that a limited-edition treat has made back-to-back appearances on its weekly lineup. The otherworldly dessert (first offered from June 23 until June 28) is inspired by a lyric from his April single ' Mystical Magical ' and will again be at all Crumbl locations from Monday, June 30 until Saturday, July 5. 'Moonbeam ice cream, taking off your blue jeans,' he sings on the Billboard Hot 100 hit off his sophomore album, 'American Heart' which dropped June 20. (In case you're wondering about the lyric's meaning — it doesn't have one.) Crumbl says Boone's chilled chocolate cookie channels the same 'mood and magic as its musical muse' and features cookies and cream pieces, a psychedelically colored lemon, berry and marshmallow topping, a drizzle of white icing, and cookies and cream sprinkle. 'Turns out one week just wasn't enough for the cookie that had fans seeing stars,' Crumbl writes in a press release, and Crumbl CEO and co-founder Jason McGowan adds that fans asked for the cookie to come back, so the company decided to be 'here for it — with backflips!' 'We've never done an encore before, but when a cookie creates this kind of buzz, we knew we had to bring it back,' McGowan says. Fans on social media are indeed excited for the cookie's return, with one writing, 'So happy moonbeam ice cream cookie is back.' Sawyer Hemsley, Crumbl's chief brand officer, co-founder and noted backflipper himself, says Boone was very hands-on in crafting the cookie flavor, noting his 'creativity, passion, and musical energy' made for a fun collaboration. 'We took the way his song makes you feel and turned it into something you can taste,' said Hemsley in a press release. Boone has crafted a reputation for his falsetto voice, jumpsuits with deep V-necks, backflips and what some find to be annoying behavior. And that's not an insult — just a fact — as there are think pieces and Reddit threads exploring why he seems to push people's buttons. The singer is fully aware of this facet of his career, noting in a TikTok earlier this year that if people are going to 'hate me or my music at least have a good reason for it.' He even poked fun at the haters in his most recent music video for the track ' Mr. Electric Blue.' In it, he repeatedly backflips on a trampoline, wears a T-shirt that reads 'one hit wonder,' sells discount jumpsuits and says being the 'most overplayed artist in the world' is 'all (he's) ever wanted.' A little girl also tells him his 'music is terrible' as he serves her ice cream, so you have to at least give him points for self-deprecation.

Benson Boone's American Heart debuts at No. 2 with mixed reviews

On June 30, 2025, Benson Boone's sophomore album American Heart debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. Released on June 20, the ten-track album blends pop rock with Americana influences and continues Boone's rise in the mainstream music scene. -Warner Records Critics have responded with mixed reviews. Many praised Boone's vocal strength and theatrical delivery, calling the album polished and emotionally charged. Others, however, described the lyrics as generic and questioned the album's thematic depth, noting that while the production is slick, the storytelling feels surface-level. Songs such as Mystical Magical and Momma Song have drawn attention for their catchy melodies and personal themes. The album was co-written in 17 days by Boone and collaborator Jack LaFrantz, with stylistic nods to early 2000s pop and artists like Bruce Springsteen. To support the release, Boone will embark on the American Heart World Tour from August through November 2025, performing across North America and Europe.

Benson Boone Pokes Fun at Haters and 'One Hit Wonder' Criticism in 'Mr. Electric Blue' Video

Benson Boone has dropped a music video for the track "Mr. Electric Blue" The 22-year-old musician pokes fun at "industry plant" and "one hit wonder" allegations in the visual, all while dealing with some of his harshest critics Boone's new album, American Heart, is out nowBenson Boone's new music video has him coming face-to-face with his biggest adversaries: critics, haters and pools that don't allow backflips off the diving board. On Friday, June 20, the acrobatic pop star dropped his latest album American Heart alongside a cheeky visual for standout track "Mr. Electric Blue," which addressed the naysayers with a hint of humor, self-deprecation and a shirtless car wash. In the video, directed by Matt Eastin, Boone discovers he needs to raise $10 million during a meeting at "Industry Plant Records" headquarters — a nod to, well, "industry plant" allegations. The discovery takes him on a wild unemployment ride as he walks dogs, mows lawns, washes cars and sells jumpsuits all in an effort to make the money back in just a week. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Boone opens the video by walking into a meeting with a label head while wearing a "one hit wonder" t-shirt, before being told that "everything's terrible" and his backflips and "moonbeam ice cream" catchphrase — a nod to single "Mystical Magical" — weren't necessarily doing the trick. "We need something new, we need a new gimmick," the fictional label head told Boone. "Maybe good songwriting?" "You know I can't do that," Boone responded, poking some more fun at himself. With his career on the line in the visual, Boone then does all he can to raise $10 million in seven days. At one point, he even takes on a pool boy gig, before spotting a "no backflips" sign and having to retreat from the diving board. At the end of it all, the musician discovers "everything's fine" and that his entire catalog has been sold to retail chains, fast food locations and movie theaters, making him "the most overplayed artist in the world." "That's all I've ever wanted," he said at the end of the video. Boone's new album, which marks his second LP, has already helped him steer clear of any "one-hit-wonder" allegations by spawning hit single "Mystical Magical" — a year after "Beautiful Things" backflipped its way to the top of the charts. "I think I'm getting to the point where I just want people to know that there's more than just that song," Boone told Rolling Stone in March. "I think I'm a little past that point. But of course, I still love the song. I'm still proud of it. And I'll be performing it for a while, so I hope that feeling sticks around." The new 10-song project arrives ahead of Boone's forthcoming American Heart North American arena tour, which is set to hit Madison Square Garden in New York and the Arena in Los Angeles after kicking off in St. Paul, Minnesota in August. American Heart is out now via Night Street Records/Warner Records. Read the original article on People

Benson Boone's Radio Takeover Comes Just Before His New Album Drops

Benson Boone's 'Mystical Magical' debuts on two Billboard pop radio charts and climbs to new highs ... More on four other rankings ahead of American Heart's release. ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: Benson Boone performs onstage during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo byfor MTV) Benson Boone is enjoying a particularly exciting week on the airwaves in the United States, as three of his songs are currently present on various radio-focused rankings. Each tune has its own momentum, with several of them enticing audiences and exciting them for his sophomore album American Heart, which arrives tomorrow (Friday, June 20). Nearly two months after its mid-April release, American Heart single "Mystical Magical" is just starting to reveal its staying power. This frame, the tune debuts on multiple Billboard tallies, suggesting its life on the charts may be just beginning. "Mystical Magical" lands on two of Billboard's three pop radio rankings this week, just as excitement surrounding American Heart hits its peak. The track premieres at No. 37 on the Pop Airplay chart and No. 36 on the Adult Pop Airplay list, giving Boone his sixth career placement on each of those rankings. For now, the track is absent from the Adult Contemporary chart — the third of the three pop airplay tallies — but that ranking typically moves more slowly than the others, so it could still be a win in the future. Seven weeks after its initial debut on other rankings, "Mystical Magical" also hits new peaks on four Billboard charts simultaneously. The track climbs to previously unseen highs on the Hot 100, Streaming Songs chart, and both of the company's worldwide rankings at the same time. It's a huge week for the American Heart cut, which slips on just one tally, the Digital Song Sales chart. After spending a month as a bestseller, the track appears ready to depart the list. As "Mystical Magical" gains traction on the airwaves, Boone's previous single "Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else" earns new peaks on three of the four radio charts it appears on. The track breaks into the top 10 for the first time on the all-genre Radio Songs list, and narrowly misses hitting No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, falling short by just one space. Meanwhile, Boone's breakout smash "Beautiful Things" remains a strong performer at radio more than a year after it debuted. The track continues to dominate the Adult Contemporary chart, holding at No. 1 67 weeks into its run. It also inches up to No. 15 on the Radio Songs list, nearly giving Boone a pair of top 10 hits on one of Billboard's most competitive rosters.
