3 city lakes in Mysuru to be rejuvenated this year

Mysuru: Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) will rejuvenate three lakes, including Dalvoy and Devanur, this year. The restoration project encompasses cleaning, desilting and strengthening of lake bunds. About Rs 25 crore is reserved for the rejuvenation of the lakes this year. The lakes are dying due to the heavy inflow of sewage water for years. There are plans to install interceptor drains around the lakes to prevent untreated sewage from entering the water bodies and to prevent further pollution of the lakes. Dalvoy Lake is located off National Highway-766, while Devanur water body is situated northeast of Mysuru city. MDA reclaims encroached land in west Mysuru by demolishing illegal structures

Mysuru: Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) reclaimed its encroached property by demolishing a few structures and removing the occupants early on Monday. About eight and a half acres of land worth Rs 160 crore was taken into possession under police cover. MDA special land acquisition officer KR Rakshith, who is the in-charge commissioner of MDA, informed TOI that the property was situated in a prime location in west Mysuru and attached to the Outer Ring Road. Temporary structures constructed by encroachers were demolished using earthmovers. The structures were built with the intention to grab the property that was acquired by the urban body in the early 1990s. The illegal occupants left their aged relatives and parents to avoid any legal complications involving themselves. The MDA team, which sought police protection for the operation, successfully evacuated them by removing all their belongings from the temporary sheds and safely vacated them from the spot. Earthmovers were used to bring down the sheds. According to Rakshith, the total value of the market is about Rs 160 crore. About two families, all aged people, lived on the MDA land. MDA would clean up the area and fence it to avoid any further encroachment of the land in Vijayanagar IV stage. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Top 25 Most Beautiful Women In The World Articles Vally An officer claimed the land, approximately 8 acres and 18 guntas, was acquired by the MDA (earlier Muda) in the early 1990s and award money was deposited in the court. "However, younger members of two families, claiming the land belonged to them, camped there for years," the officer said.

MDA carries out eviction drive on 8.28 acre of land near Outer Ring Road

The Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) carried out an eviction drive in Basavanahalli village near Outer Ring Road in the city early on Monday to reclaim 8.28 acre of land. Amid heavy police security, the MDA personnel deployed earthmovers to clear the 4.36 acre of land on survey number 108 and 3.32 acre on survey number 109 in Basavanahalli village of Mysuru taluk that had been acquired for developing Vijaynagar 4th Stage. The MDA reclaimed the land despite resistance by land owners. According to the MDA, the land measuring 8.28 acre had been acquired for developing the Vijaynagar 4th stage extension through a preliminary notification issued on December 23, 1991 and final notification on December 10, 1992. The award money of ₹4,55,506 finalised on August 6, 1994, had been deposited in the court on March 5, 2002. The land owners had moved the court for dropping the acquisition as the layout project was not implemented, but the High Court had ruled in favour of the Authority, said MDA secretary Prasanna. The eviction drive was carried out after the MDA Zone 3 officer submitted report that two houses had been built on the acquired land, while gravel and timber had been dumped illegally.

MDA to soon implement e-Office to streamline workflow

Mysuru: The e-Office software platform, which has revolutionised administrative workflow in govt agencies, will be implemented in the Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) within the next week. The software enables seamless digital documentation of all govt records and correspondences between various sections of the authority, officials said. It allows officers at the senior level to track the status of every work at their fingertips. MDA special land acquisition officer KR Rakshith, who is in-charge commissioner of MDA, told TOI that the e-Office software facilitates officers at the senior level to track progress online. "Currently, all internal file movement at the authority is done manually, and within the next week, it will be made online. This means MDA will go paperless," he said. "As senior officers, we can track the file and its current position online and identify reasons for the delay at every level. Even the number of days delayed in attending to a file by a staffer will be shown online. Online tracking will ensure the works are done quickly without unnecessary delay," the KAS officer said. "A two-day training was organised for all staffers at MDA to start using the software, which ensures transparent administration, as directed by govt," he explained. The e-Office software allows electronic filing, workflow management, and access to govt services. The software helps digitise workflow, facilitates faster decision-making, and improves transparency in govt operations. The system features robust security protocols to protect sensitive govt data while maintaining transparency in operations. Govt employees can access the platform through secure login credentials, helping them manage correspondence, create digital files, and process applications efficiently. The software includes features like digital signatures, file noting, and document management that have significantly reduced paper usage and storage requirements. The platform facilitates faster decision-making by enabling real-time file movement between various administrative levels. Citizens benefit from this digital transformation through faster response times to their applications and queries. The platform also includes features for managing leave applications, employee records, and office inventory. Environmental benefits include a significant reduction in paper consumption and physical storage space requirements. An officer claimed that the system's mobile compatibility allows officials to access and process files even while working remotely.
