Telangana, Andhra Pradesh set to formally divide New Delhi-based assets

Remove Ads New Delhi: Eleven years after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the two states of Telangana and Andhra are set to formally divide the assets in New Delhi and initiate the process of building two separate to sources, chief secretaries will sign on the dotted line soon to divide land and properties between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A senior Andhra Pradesh government official confirmed to ET that the state has received a letter from the home ministry formalising this division. The united Andhra Pradesh owned 19.776 acres of land in Delhi, which included Andhra Bhawan at 1 Ashoka Road and land in Pataudi House. This has now been divided, with 11.536 acres of land allocated to Andhra Pradesh and 8.24 acres to Telangana. The biggest bone of contention was the allocation of different blocks in Andhra Bhawan. Both the states had insisted on getting Godavari and Sabari blocks, which are on contiguous parcels of land inside Andhra Bhawan complex. However, in the final division of assets, Sabari block has gone to Telangana and Godavari and Swarna Mukhi blocks to Andhra Pradesh. Both the states have got one parcel each in Pataudi assets have been divided as per the 58:42 population ratio spelt out in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act , with 58% going to Andhra and 42% to Telangana. With this division, the state governments will embark on the exercise of constructing their respective bhawans. According to sources, Telangana had initiated the design process over 18 months ago but has not finalised it. A similar exercise had been initiated by Andhra Pradesh, but sources indicated that chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu did not approve the design. "The design process will be initiated again," said the official. The present Andhra Bhawan is an old building and is likely to give way to two new Andhra Pradesh owned such vast land in the heart of Delhi as the Nizam of Hyderabad had obtained 18.18 acres from the Government of India in 1917, 1928 and 1936 on payment. On this, Hyderabad House was established. Nellore: Sarvepalle MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has said that people of both Telugu speaking States should remain grateful to former CM of unified Andhra Pradesh Padmasree NT Rama Rao, who brought recognition to Telugu people and upheld self-respect across the world by establishing TDP in 1983. He spoke during the centenary celebrations of NTR organised in Sidney of Australia, the MLA said that it is highly impossible for any political party to emerge to power within a span of a few months, but NTR made it possible within 11 months of establishing TDP. Recalling his long association with NTR since the formation of the party in 1983, Somireddy said that during anti-arrack movement was rampant in 1991 in Nellore district, NTR came to Nellore following the invitation of All Party Struggle Committee, and promised to impose total ban on liquor. As per the assurance, former CM NT Rama Rao implemented total ban after TDP came to power in 1994, even after knowing that it will cause huge loss. The MLA said that NT Rama Rao was responsible for the construction of Telugu Ganga Project, introduction of kilo rice@ Rs 2, construction of pakka houses. He alleged that the YSRCP came to power in 2019 by promising liquor ban but it did liquor trade as Rs 10,000 crores liquor scam was witnessed during its five-year tenure.

The event organised by NRI TDP leader Srikant Doddapaneni had begun at 7 pm on Wednesday at Bheemavaram Ruchulu Banquet Hall in the Bay Area of Fremont. It was conducted in a 'never before-ever after' way and rich tributes are paid to late NT Rama Rao. TDP MPs from both the Telugu States, Ministers, MLAs and party senior leaders along with BRS leaders from Telangana virtually attended the event. TUDA chairman Diwakar Reddy, TDP politburo member Nakka Ananda Babu along with several party senior leaders attended the event virtually. Nellore: The district administration has celebrated the birth anniversary of legendary actor and former CM of united Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao in a grand manner on Wednesday. A meeting was conducted at SR Sankaran Hall in the premises the Nellore Collectorate, in which several TDP and BJP leaders participated. District Collector O Anand, Joint Collector K Karthik, NUDA Chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, former Udayagiri TDP MLA Kambham Vijayaramireddy, BJP senior leader and APSRTC Zonal Chairman Sannapureddy Suresh Reddy, and others have garlanded the portrait of NTR and paid floral tributes. Recalling his association with NTR, Kambam Vijayarami Reddy has said that NTR was responsible for the construction of Somasila, Telugu Ganga, Kandaleru projects, facilitating farmers to do agriculture operations after having around 150 tmcfts of water in the three reservoirs. NTR was also responsible for introducing Social Security Pensions (SSP) in the State, he added. NIDA Chairman Srinivasulu Reddy said that due to the introduction of several welfare schemes including KG rice @ Rs 2, scores of poor were benefited. Describing NTR as a legendary film actor and remarkable political personality, RTC Zonal Chairman S Suresh Reddy has praised that it was NTR, who highlighted the self-respect of Telugus by establishing TDP in 1983. On this occasion, Collector Anand has facilitated artistes, who showcased their talent in different fields.
