NY Giants Standout Speaks on Strong Relationship With Russell Wilson
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Heading into this second season with the New York Giants, wide receiver Malik Nabers will be playing alongside another different quarterback. That said, based on some recent comments, it's an adjustment he's more than willing to make. With Daniel Jones being waived midway through last year, Nabers caught passes from multiple QBs as a rookie. Following a busy offseason for the front office, that likely won't be the case in 2025. Upon signing a one-year deal in free agency, Russell Wilson has been named the Giants' starter. As the team's top wide receiver prospect, Nabers is someone Wilson has worked closely with since arriving in New York. The former Super Bowl winner is high on his abilities and feels the two can succeed together. After Wilson spoke briefly about their relationship, Nabers opened up about the bond they've built over the last few months. When asked his thoughts on the remark, the Giants standout had nothing but positive things to say about all their interactions thus far. "I will probably say like a true quarterback and receiver relationship," Nabers said. "I try to get as much information out of him as possible. He's been very helpful in my journey so far. With the leadership that he has added to the quarterback role, the offense, the receivers, the sky's the limit for us and I'm hoping we reach that." Also read: NY Giants Wide Receivers Open Up on Russell Wilson's Impact Appearing in 15 games as a rookie, Nabers racked up over 1,200 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Heading into his sophomore campaign, things are lined up for him to take a big step forward in his development. With a player the caliber of Wilson throwing him the ball, there's no reason not to think Nabers' production won't see a reasonable uptick. Drafting him sixth overall in 2024, the Giants have aspirations of Nabers eventually emerging as a premier wide receiver in the NFL. Based on the relationship he's built with Wilson thus far, he could potentially emerge as an elite talent in 2025. New York brought in Wilson for some leadership and stability at the quarterback position. Through the opening week of camp, it's evident the impact he's had on the team both on and off the field. Russell Wilson Played Big Role in Free Agent's Visit With NY Giants
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. For the third straight season, Russell Wilson finds himself on a new team. Though his future with the New York Giants is uncertain, it isn't stopping him from helping the organization make roster upgrades. Though he isn't the superstar talent he once was, Wilson is still a former Super Bowl winner and a notable name in the league. Knowing this, he seems to be putting forth the effort to add more weapons around him in 2025. Last week, free agent wide receiver Gabe Davis made an appearance on the Up & Adams show. Among the topics they talked about was his recent visit with the Giants. Davis opened up on getting to meet numerous members of the organization, but one of the big things for him was Wilson having dinner with him. "Going out to New York and seeing those guys and talk with them. Russ came to dinner, that was dope. Having Russell Wilson there that was pretty sick. He's a legend" When asked about the idea of catching passes from Wilson this year, Davis didn't shy away from it being something he's giving a lot of thought to. "That's me and Russ' game for sure," Davis continued. "Definitely deep ball threat and Russ knows how to sling it downfield. Something that I've looked into for sure." He had a lot of success playing with an elite-level QB in Josh Allen, notching at least seven touchdowns in three different seasons. Davis decided to hit the open market last offseason, eventually winding up on the Jacksonville Jaguars. His production took a massive dip, resulting in the front office cutting ties with him. Also read: NY Giants Wide Receivers Open Up on Russell Wilson's Impact Though he had a lackluster showing last season, Davis could still be an interesting target for the Giants. He proved in Buffalo that he can be an effective weapon when paired with the right QB. Based on his comments about Wilson, it looks like he views him as someone he could thrive alongside. While it appears that Davis had a successful visit with the Giants, only time will tell if it results in him joining Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton in New York's receiver corps. NFL Analyst Skeptical About NY Giants Training Camp QB Declaration
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. After making numerous additions at the position in the offseason, quarterback is a major area of focus heading into New York Giants training camp. Though Brian Daboll stated how the team plans to begin the 2025 campaign, one analyst remains skeptical. Following their decision to cut ties with Daniel Jones midway through last season, the Giants had some things to figure out under center. The front office decided to go two different routes, bringing in veterans and young talent to hold down the position for the foreseeable future. In free agency, the Giants signed Russell Wilson to a one-year deal. However, it was clear that he'd only be a stopgap for New York at QB. Upon nabbing Jaxson Dart in the first round of the draft, the franchise has its long-term vision for the position. Photo by/Getty Images With Dart impressing in minicamp and climbing up the depth chart, many began tossing around the idea of him winning the starting job in camp. This notion was quickly put to bed by head coach Brian Daboll. While speaking with the media earlier this week, he stated that Wilson is who the Giants will begin the season as the starting QB. Also read: NY Giants Coach Makes Clear Statement Amid QB Competition While on FS1's First Things First Wednesday, Chris Broussard gave his thoughts on Daboll's decision to come out and name Wilson the starter. He is skeptical about the situation and feels a competition still could come about in camp. "I think it means he's starting camp as our starter, he's first on the depth chart. He will get most of the starters reps," Broussard said. "But, it's still a competition. That's how I'm taking it. Why in the world do you have to pencil in or write it in pen right now that Russell Wilson is the starter? I think he would win the job, but I don't think you need to go into camp like this." He went 6-5 in 11 starts for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season while throwing for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns. Wilson is more than capable of providing some stability at QB after the disarray that was last season. Wilson might enter the year as the starter, but it's unknown how long he'll hold on to the position. If Dart can impress throughout camp and into the regular season, there's no telling how long the staff will hold off before giving him the reins. NY Giants Standout Gushes Over Rookie QB Jaxson Dart
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. In the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants walked out with a pair of building blocks for the future. First, they nabbed defensive standout Abdul Carter with the third overall pick. New York then executed a trade to acquire the 25th selection, which they then used to take quarterback Jaxson Dart. Though the latter won't be hitting the field right away, his teammates are already starting to rally behind him. Dart has turned heads in his early days with the Giants, which could be seen as a blessing and a curse. This bodes well for him being able to take over the reins at QB in the future, but could also create early competition between him and Russell Wilson. After signing a one-year deal with the Giants in free agency, the veteran will assume the starting position to start the season. Since minicamp, countless members of the Giants have spoken out about Dart and his abilities. Among the most recent to do so was running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. While appearing on Good Morning Football, he touched on how confident the first-round pick has looked in his early days in the pros. During an interview on FS1's The Facility, he opened up about his impressive set of skills at the quarterback position. "He fits the mold of what they like at quarterback," Tracy said. "He likes to run, he likes to throw the ball deep, he's one of them people that be out there hooping. You see him playing and you're like, wow okay." I'm not going to sit and hear and say he can spin it if he can't…He can ball.' — The Facility (@TheFacilityFS1) June 27, 2025 Also read: Archie Manning Raves Over NY Giants Rookie Jaxson Dart Tracy being a fan of Dart is good for the Giants, as the two will be two building blocks for the offense moving forward. The versatile RB is coming off an impressive rookie campaign where he put his name in the same breath as Saquon Barkley. Last season, he became just the second Giants rookie running back to break 1,000 yards from scrimmage. Tracy finished the 2024 campaign with 839 yards and five touchdowns on the ground to go with 284 receiving yards. As for Dart, he'll look to continue his impressive run for the Giants in a few weeks during training camp. For more New York Giants and NFL news, head over to Newsweek Sports.

NFL Analyst Makes Massive Jaxson Dart-Russell Wilson Claim
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Russell Wilson has received rave reviews since setting foot on the field for the New York Giants. Still, that doesn't erase the fact that there is a first-round rookie waiting in the wings. Jaxson Dart was drafted early enough for the Giants to be eager to get him out on the field. He's the quarterback of the future, and everybody knows it. Since the Giants have the mentality of a contender, they don't seem interested in getting Dart on the field so soon. They signed Russell Wilson to take advantage of the 36-year-old's experience, but the NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah isn't buying the idea that Wilson will be a full-time starter in 2025. "Everything I've read about Dart seems to be pretty positive," Jeremiah said during his appearance on the Rich Eisen Show. "I think he's got a chance to play pretty darn early here. We'll see how it goes." In order for Dart to get on the field as early as Week 1, a lot would have to happen. The rookie would need to look like a seasoned veteran, while Wilson would have to struggle. So far, both quarterbacks have earned praise for having a strong offseason. As a result, Dart reportedly began to jump ahead of Jameis Winston on the depth chart. Read More: NFL Analyst Utters Bold Take on NY Giants Rookie Jaxson Dart Leapfrogging Wilson won't be as easy, but Jeremiah believes that putting the redshirt on Dart doesn't seem like a sure path for New York, even after Wilson's praise-worthy spring. Jaxson Dart #6 of the New York Giants during rookie minicamp at NY Giants Quest Diagnostics Training Center on May 09, 2025 in East Rutherford, New Jersey."I think he's got a chance to play pretty darn early here," Jeremiah said of Dart. "We'll see how it goes. You just kind of listen to the words of Brian Daboll, and you get the sense that [Dart] was his guy. He's invested in him. He seems to really, really like him. He had Josh Allen, and once they got him in there, they were able to learn through some of the mistakes and get to a really good place. It sounds a little different, the way he's talking about [Dart]." Whether the Giants had Dart or not, Wilson was sure to have a lot of doubters in front of him when he signed this offseason. While Wilson is one of the most recognizable active players at the quarterback position, he's struggled to live up to his Seattle Seahawks playing days. Read More: Odell Beckham's Latest Post Stirs NY Giants Reunion Talk During his final season with the Denver Broncos, Wilson achieved a 7-8 record, throwing for 3,070 yards, 16 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Last year, he went 6-5 as the starter of the Pittsburgh Steelers, tossing 16 touchdowns and five interceptions, while tossing for over 2,400 yards in the air. Only time will tell if Jeremiah's prediction is correct, but one thing is for sure: Wilson would have to thrive in order to keep fans from pounding the table for Dart to start.
