Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway's COVID-19 Lockdowns

While COVID-19 might feel like a distant memory now, it turns out there are some tidbits of information from five years ago that we still have to learn, like how close Anne Hathaway and Bradley Cooper became in what was arguably one of the world's most impressive lockdown bubbles. Anne previously shared some insight into this time when she delivered a speech in Bradley's honor at the National Board of Review in January 2024, where she told the crowd: 'Bradley and I became friends during the pandemic, when he invited my family over for pizza, which I have to mention, he made himself.' 'As I watched Bradley make pizza for, like, 20 adults and countless clamoring children, never breaking his rhythm, focus, or his connection to whomever he was speaking with, I was struck by how rare a creature Bradley is,' the star added at the time. And now, Bradley has returned the compliments tenfold as he fully lifted the lid on bonding with Anne and her family during COVID, with the two stars connecting because they were both based in Manhattan at the time. In 2020, Bradley was publicly single after his 2019 split from Irina Shayk, with whom he shares his daughter, Lea, who is now eight years old. Meanwhile, Anne has been married to her husband, Adam Shulman, since 2012, and the couple share two sons, Jonathan, now 9, and Jack, now to Vogue as part of the publication's newly-released profile on Anne, Bradley said of the star: 'You see how she treats everyone — and it's everyone — she's so kind.' 'We started hanging out as parents, having dance parties with children in my kitchen, and I fell in love with both of them,' he added of Anne and Adam, whose marriage he is clearly in awe of. In fact, Bradley said that Anne's marriage is 'an emblem for that kind of commitment' because she and Adam 'enrich' one another. Bradley also noted that the couple's household is incredibly 'normal,' adding: 'I hate to use that word. But you've met Anne: She's very present and grounded, I'll put it that way. And kind.' Anne shared a glimpse into how she would have spent the COVID lockdowns later on in the article, where she told Vogue that her favorite thing to do is hang out with her husband, kids, and friends. 'Uno games, baking when there's time, teaching the kids to dribble a basketball in the apartment without upsetting the neighbors…' she said of her hobbies, with Anne also confessing that she is 'so, so grateful' that Adam 'is a great cook and an early riser.' Needless to say, Anne and Adam sound like exactly the kind of neighbors you want to have when in the midst of a global pandemic — let me know your thoughts on Anne and Bradley's COVID bubble in the comments below!

Brad Pitt opens up about struggles with alcoholism, Entertainment News

Brad Pitt has opened up about his struggles with addiction and his journey through Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) after the breakdown of his marriage to Angelina Jolie. The 61-year-old discussed the aftermath of the end of his second marriage on the new episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, hosted by Dax Shepard. The F1 star said the turbulent time pushed him to seek help, leading him to join AA and confront years of substance dependency. He said: "I was pretty much on my knees… I needed to wake the f*** up in some areas. "I was really open to… I was trying anything anyone threw at me. It was a difficult time. I needed rebooting." While speaking to 50-year-old Dax, who has publicly discussed his own sobriety journey and relapse after 16 years, Brad recalled feeling nervous when first attending AA. The actor, who split from Angelina in 2016, added: "It gives you permission to go, 'OK, I'm gonna step out on this edge and see what happens'. "And then I really grew to love it." Brad also praised Dax for his honesty, calling him "so f****** honest" and likening him to "an elder statesman" of the group. He added: "Dax was usually near the end because he's been there a while. "I just thought it was incredible — men sharing their experiences with their foibles, their missteps, their wants, their aches, and a lot of humour with it." Raised in Missouri after being born in Oklahoma, Brad reflected on the environment he grew up in. "Everything is great," was the mantra of the men around him, he said — a culture that left little room for emotional openness. In a 2019 interview with The New York Times, Brad previously said AA offered him a safe, judgment-free space. "It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself," he said. He also explained the group helped him finally "revoke (his) drinking privileges." Brad also acknowledged alcohol was not the only substance he had used to cope with fame and pressure. "In the '90s, all that attention really threw me," he said, adding: "I really became a bit of a hermit and just bonged myself into oblivion." In 2020, Brad publicly credited actor Bradley Cooper, 49, with helping him to overcome his addiction issues. While accepting a Best Supporting Actor award from Bradley at the National Board of Review gala, Brad said the former helped him "get sober" and that "every day has been happier ever since". Brad's decision to get sober came in the wake of his split from Angelina, 49, with whom he shares six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. The former couple, who met on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005 and married in 2014, were embroiled in a lengthy legal dispute after Angelina filed for divorce in 2016. It was a process finally concluded in December 2024, following Brad's 2022 lawsuit over the sale of her share in their Château Miraval estate. Brad is currently in a relationship with 34-year-old jewellery executive Ines de Ramon, who resides with him in Los Angeles, while Angelina is believed to be single. Nostalgic drama hailed as ‘best film of 2022' and 'masterpiece' available to stream now

The Scots movie, starring Paul Mescal, has a 95 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is certified fresh. Aftersun was met with huge critical acclaim when it was released in 2022 - earning Paul Mescal an Oscar nomination for his performance in the film, as well as kick-starting the career of young Scots actress Frankie Corio. The pair would go on to become the main attraction at most awards events that year as the movie - written and directed by Scot Charlotte Wells - scooped a raft of accolades including the BAFTA for Best Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. ‌ Hailed by critics as one of the "greatest depictions of depression and grief captured on film" the plot focuses on the themes of childhood, parenthood and memory. ‌ The story follows an 11-year-old Scottish girl called Sophie as she goes on holiday to to a Turkish resort with her dad, Callum, on the eve of his 31st birthday. The film was occasionally shot through a mini video camera adding to the period texture, and is an ode to nostalgia with hints of something far darker. It received universal praise across the board from critics, who heralded Wells' direction and screenplay, and the performances of the stars. Aftersun was also named one of the best films of 2022 by the National Board of Review and earned Normal People star Mescal an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Mescal himself was a huge cheerleader of the project, and was full of compliments for his young co-star, who was 12 at the time, when she was awarded Variety's '10 Brits to Watch' at the Newport Beach Film Festival for her performance. ‌ Mescal told a star-studded audience the West Lothian youngster will 'take over the world' as he stood up to collect his own gong for Artist of Distinction. He said: 'This is a crazy honour, it feels like yesterday I graduated from drama school. It feels like a short time and so much water has passed under the bridge. This lady here [Frankie Corio] is going to take over the world." ‌ Corio, who lives in Livingston with her teacher mum Leona and bathroom fitter dad Frank as well as her two siblings, was also dubbed a 'rising star' by Hollywood veteran Kate Blanchett and nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actress, making her the youngest person ever to make the shortlist for the gong. The young Scot - who was aged just 10 when she was cast in the film - has gone on to build a bright future in the industry. Now 14, she made the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list earlier this year, which singles out emerging young talent. Corio has also starred in 2024 horror Bagman alongside Sam Claflin, and 2024 short film Stray. Frankie had no previous experience in acting and beat out 700 hopefuls to et the part after her mum sent a photo of her to a casting call. She also won the London Critics' Circle Award for Young British/Irish Performer. ‌ Movie fans who have yet to see Aftersun - or those who loved it so much they want to watch again and again - are now able to stream it for free, as it's just been added to BBC iPlayer's Film Premiere section, and it'll be available there for nine months. The movie has been Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 95% rating on the 'Tomatometer', and an 82% 'Popcorn Rating'. Critics and movie goers are united in their positive feedback on the film. One fan said: "Deeply sad and profoundly moving, yet a powerful testament to the undeniable love between father and daughter. A true masterpiece." ‌ One added: "Beautiful yet sad. Actors were incredibly talented." Prabhjot Bains, Tilt Magazine, said: "Charlotte Wells' picture-perfect debut visually epitomizes the heart-wrenching processes of memory." Gautam Sunder, from The Hindu, added: "Director Charlotte Wells gives us one of the most piercing debuts in recent memory with this intimate dad-daughter relationship drama."
