Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas teases soap return
In an Instagram post, the Waterloo Road star shared a picture of them crouched near the iconic Emmerdale village street sign, writing 'I'm BACK!!!!' in the caption. Fans were quick to comment on the post with some excited at a potential return but others believed he might have just been on the set for another reason. A post shared by Adam Thomas (@adamthomas21) One said: 'I really hope this is true as you were my favorite Barton ever!!!!!!!' Another commented: 'Omg this is amazing, just need Kelvin Fletcher and we are sorted x'. This person said: 'SCREAMING! This better be fr'. Someone else shared: 'DONT LIE 😭'. Another Emmerdale fan said: 'As in actually or just for a press conference type thing? Really really need you back! But I also want you to stay in Waterloo Road too 😂'. Newsquest understands that there are no current plans for Adam Thomas to return to the ITV soap. Thomas was instead filming for something else when he appeared on the Emmerdale set. Thomas is currently playing Donte Carlos in the BBC's Waterloo Road and he started hosting a new gameshow with his brother Ryan Thomas, called 99 To Beat, reports The Mirror. Back in May, Ryan Hawley who plays the role of Robert Sugden, made an unexpected arrival in the Yorkshire Dales-set village. Adam, Ryan and their brother Scott regularly post content on social media and they're often joined by their children.

Glasgow M&S customers handed special gift after cyber attack
The supermarket giant was struck by a major cyber attack in April 2025. It only recently reopened its website to shoppers after it was forced to halt online orders following the damaging attack. Now, affected punters have been sent an e-gift card from the firm as an apology for the attack. "To thank you for your support, we're sending you an e-gift card to spend online, or in our stores across our fantastic fashion, home and beauty ranges. "We have now resumed online orders in England, Scotland, and Wales with home delivery within five days and nominated day delivery available for flowers and hampers. "If you are in Northern Ireland, the e-gift card is currently valid in-store only, whilst we work hard to resume online orders. "Look out for an email from us in your inbox with your e-gift today. Thank you for shopping with us." The cyber attack in April saw the firm face heavy disruption. M&S halted orders on its website over the Easter weekend and was left with some empty shelves after being targeted by hackers. Customer personal data, which could have included names, email addresses, postal addresses and dates of birth, was also taken by hackers. M&S revealed last month that the hack was caused by 'human error' and would cost around £300 million.

BBC EastEnders star confirmed to be leaving the soap
Molly Rainford, known for playing Queen Vic barmaid Anna Knight on the BBC soap, will be leaving. She joined the show two years ago but will leave for new career options, according to reports. The BBC has confirmed the star's exit and wished her well for the future. EastEnders star Molly Rainford set to leave BBC soap A BBC spokesman told Newsquest: "We can confirm that Molly Rainford will be leaving EastEnders later this year, and we wish her all the best for the future.' On the exit, an insider told The Sun: "Molly came into the show two years ago, and in that time has been trusted with some great storylines. 'It's just so happened that when Molly was considering other options in her career, a meeting was held to discuss the future of the character, and both parties were in mutual agreement that it was the right time for Anna Knight to wave goodbye to Walford.' Molly's character Anna is the daughter of George Knight and Cindy Beale. She made her first appearance in June 2023. EastEnders' Top 5 Villains The now 24-year-old from London rose to fame on Britain's Got Talent. In 2012, at the age of 11, she made it to the final of the ITV competition, finishing sixth after a rendition of Beyoncé's version of "Ave Maria" in the final. In March 2023, it was announced that she had been cast in EastEnders. Since joining the soap, she has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, where she finished as the runner-up alongside professional partner Carlos Gu. Other EastEnders exits confirmed in 2025 Molly is not the only star to leave the show this year. Bobby Brazier is leaving popular BBC soap EastEnders after four years.
