Primark brings back millennial accessory that leaves people 'screaming' in fear
After waving goodbye to many fashion trends from the 90's and noughties, shoppers were left horrified to see the return of a nostalgic belt - which has left some 'screaming' The nineties and noughties fashion trends are making a comeback, but the revival of one certain accessory has left millennials screaming in fear over it's return. Jelly shoes and pedal pusher trousers have made a comeback in recent years without causing too much of a stir, however it's the return of the disc belts which have pushed people over the edge - with some saying it's bringing back "trauma" and "PTSD". The large chunky belts made up of discs was a total fashion staple in it's heyday - but many hoped it would just stay in the past. So when shoppers spotted it on the shelves in Primark, people were in disbelief. Including mum Nina Dixon, who shared a TikTok of her daughter trying one on, and sharing her horror at the return of the accessory. "They were not lying when they said fashions come back around. I need to find a photo of me in one of these," Nina captioned the post to her account @ ninadixon28. The post has racked up over 2.5 million views and 113k likes as her daughter said she wanted her to buy it for her. Nina, who looked mortified said to her: "You do realise that when I was about 14 that is what we used to wear. She joked, and as their opinion on the belt different, fellow TikTokers agreed with Nina in the comments. PTSD hahaha," and a third simply wrote: "The trauma from the disk belt." Similarly, pedal pushers, or capri pants have also returned this year, with celebs like Frankie Bridge and Gigi Hadid spotted wearing the trending trousers So it's safe to say the vintage-style cropped leggings are making a major fashion comebacks. They might have first arrive in fashion history back in the 1950s, but the 90s was when capri pants really came into their own, and now they're being given a seriously chic makeover ready for 2024. Gigi first donned a pair of the calf-skimming pants back in 2023 and since then they've been slowly creeping back onto our fashion radars.

Millennials triggered by traumatizing fashion accessory making a comeback: ‘It's giving PTSD'
In the early 2000s, one of these belts was likely hanging around your hips — and now, they're back to haunt a new generation. Disk belts, the flashy, divisive accessory that once accompanied low-rise jeans everywhere, are making a comeback thanks to Gen Z's obsession with Y2K fashion. Stores like Primark are proudly displaying them, as reported by The Sun, and TikTok is sounding the alarm. Advertisement One millennial mom was not amused when her teenage daughter reached for one. In a recent TikTok video, creator Nina Dixon (@ninadixon28) documented her daughter beelining for the blinged-out, circular belts — and the mother's reaction said it all: pure fashion flashback horror. 'I can't believe that they've made a comeback,' Dixon said while filming the 'round ones' hanging with the rest of the trendy belts. Advertisement The TikTokker went on, 'You do realise that when I was about 14, that is what we used to wear.' She joked that she was feeling 'PTSD' after seeing a relic of the past for sale once again. In her caption, shocked Dixon wrote, 'They were not lying when they said fashions come back around. I need to find a photo of me in one of these.' One commenter wrote beneath the video, 'I am old I am OLD!' as another added, 'How is this stuff coming back?' with crying and laughing emojis. Advertisement 3 Millennials are shocked that this trend is back in style. BoujeeBora/TikTok Someone else chimed in, commenting, 'Violently thrown back to the micro mini skirt and chunky belt era' as one other defended the daughter in the video, 'why cant she like it.' In another recent TikTok clip, user Shunta (@shuntamosby) also filmed these throwback belts during a T.J. Maxx shopping trip and seemed to be in disbelief that they returned. Advertisement 'What a throwback! I'm sure some of my Elder Millennial peers owned a few! Relive those glory days or discover something new!' she captioned the video. The creator also referred to these as 'nostalgic' and 'boho' leather belts. One wrote under the post, 'I most certainly had one,' as someone else added, 'I never had one, maybe I did. I just don't wanna remember.' Another user said they would 'rock a couple of em now,' as someone else commented, 'The Beyonce influence.' And these aren't the only Y2K-inspired items stunning millennials and catching the eyes of Gen Z-ers lately. 3 Younger generations are now trying to get their hands on these dated belts. NinaDixon28/TikTok As previously reported by The Post, the Von Dutch trucker hat — the early aughts crown jewel once perched atop Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan — has also been staging a full-blown comeback. Last fall, the cult-favorite cap clawed its way out of the 2000s style grave and back onto famous foreheads. Kylie Jenner rocked a bubblegum-pink version on the cover of Elle's November 2024 issue, while sister Kendall and catwalk queen Bella Hadid have also dipped their trucker-hat-clad toes into the early aughts revival. Advertisement Mentions of Von Dutch have skyrocketed a whopping 13,000% in the past year, according to Business of Fashion — and on resale sites like Depop, searches for 'Von Dutch' and 'trucker hat' are up 40% and 90%, respectively. Ultimately, it seems Y2K called — and Gen Z is answering on speakerphone.

Millennials scream as trend ‘everyone born in the 90s' remembers makes a comeback & ‘gives them PTSD'
YOU couldn't wear a skirt in the 90s without one of these dangling from your hips. And millennials all hoped it would be the last we'd see of the disk belts, but Gen-Z seems to have other plans. 2 The giant belts which would often ping off at the most awkward of times have made a comeback in high street stores. The likes of New Look, Primark, PLT and Boohoo are all stocking it. And one mum was horrified when her teen daughter picked up to buy. Taking to TikTok, Nina, wife of the famous SpudBros founder, shared her daughter's reaction to the 90s accessory. She told her mum she wanted to buy it for her summer holiday as Nina looked on mortified. "You do realise that when I was about 14 that is what we used to wear," she said. "We thought we were really cool and then we bullied them ever since. "Now they've made this comeback and you're saying it's nice?!" "They were not lying when they said fashions come back around. I need to find a photo of me in one of these," Nina captioned the post. While Nina and her daughter's opinion on the belt differed, many agreed with Nina in the comments. 'I can feel the blisters' shoppers cry as River Island becomes latest high street store to jump on 'painful' 90s shoe trend The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @ ninadixon28 with over 2.5 million views and 113k likes Many were horrified to see it make its way back into stores. One person wrote: "I had one in every colour. I used to wear them with long rara skirts in the early 2000s." Another commented: "My mum used to say fashion repeats itself and it's true." Fashion editor reveals the 90s trends that should stay in the past NINETIES and noughties trends especially have become a hit with Gen Z - most likely because they didn't wear them the first time round. Here, Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale gives the rundown of some of the trends that have made a comeback that we wish did not. Disc belts "A hit with celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Blake Lively, the belt itself did nothing that a belt should actually do - it was a mere fashion statement, not a piece to actually hold anything up. "And it seems it's not just me who is enraged by its return, with many taking to TikTok to give their views, saying: 'Oh no not the disc belt! I don't think I have the energy for it a 2nd time around' - I feel you." Jelly shoes "After not being seen on shelves for decades, they've made a reappearance and this time they're not just for kids. "Coming in a range of colourful patterns, you can get them all over the high street in either flat or heeled versions. "Not only will you look very childish wearing such shoes, but people will also need to learn that they aren't the comfiest - blister plasters will come in handy." Pedal pushers "The cropped knee-grazing trouser were all the rage in the 1990s and 2000s, but this time the model fash pack are all over them - with both Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski wearing them out recently. "The original IT girls, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot helped make the trousers - also called Capri pants - look effortlessly cool and glam. "Somehow this time round they don't seem to be having that same effect." "The trauma from the disk belt," penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "The late 90s and 00s has entered the chat!!"
