5 best shows with Nicole Kidman to stream right now
Nicole Kidman has been a silver screen icon for decades. Yet like many A-listers, fans sometimes overlook just how strong her small-screen game is. She may not rack up dozens of TV credits, but when she shows up, Kidman delivers. Whether she's unraveling secrets in glossy, prestige dramas or popping in for a scene-stealing cameo, Kidman proves that star power doesn't have to shrink just because the screen does. Fresh off the second season of "Nine Perfect Strangers," her TV track record keeps expanding in surprising, genre-bending ways. Whether you're rewatching or just catching up, these five Nicole Kidman shows are more than worth the stream. Everyone loves a good cult story — unless you're in one. In arguably one of Kidman's best TV roles, she headlines the show 'Nine Perfect Strangers' as a "guru" named Masha, who runs a wellness retreat. The only catch? The "wellness" is served with a heavy dose of psychedelics and manipulation. Based on Liane Moriarty's book by the same name, the 2021 show debuted as a miniseries. You know a streaming series is popular when it gets an unplanned second season. That's right: 'Nine Perfect Strangers' snagged a renewal and the season 2 finale recently aired. Watch on Hulu Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant were the iconic 2020 mashup we didn't know we needed. The intense psychological thriller miniseries 'The Undoing' features Kidman as a seemingly normal therapist whose life gets turned upside-down when she contends with the fact that her missing husband, Jonathan, is a prime suspect in a murder investigation. Awkward. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Equal parts mystery and thriller as the stakes build with each episode. There's an argument that the stars shine brighter than the relatively run-of-the-mill mystery, but the acting and stunning cinematography more than make up for it. As for Kidman? Her character's intense unraveling yet again proves her range. Watch on Max A lioness doesn't just guard her cubs; she gets intel, too. The term also refers to a former military program helmed by female soldiers. They were tasked with searching, befriending, and getting intel from women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan. In this series created by Taylor Sheridan, Kidman plays CIA senior supervisor Kaitlyn Meade, who oversees the Lioness field team. No pressure! Kidman toggles between being a straight-laced, no-nonsense CIA supervisor with a stellar poker face and a sly lioness whose emotions and cunning personality occasionally slip out. The layered performance is fascinating to watch. The cast includes other heavy hitters like Zoe Saldoña (Joe), Morgan Freeman (Edwin Mullins) and Dave Annable (Neal). Watch on Paramount Plus A perfect couple's perfection is only perfect on the page. Say that three times fast. In this murder mystery, Nicole Kidman's Greer built her thriving writing career on her seemingly storybook marriage with Tag (Liev Schreiber), a scion of one of the richest families in Nantucket who is harboring more than a few secrets. Until one of those secrets ends up in a body bag. Of course, Greer is a suspect, along with her entire family. And despite writing about crime for a living, she doesn't particularly try to look innocent. Kidman's nuanced portrayal of the deeply flawed matriarch makes audiences love and hate her in the same moment. That's not exactly an easy line to straddle. As far as whodunnits go, the twists and turns in 'The Perfect Couple' hit as everyone looks shady as hell. Watch on Netflix Ah, yes — another show about a false idyll. As is par for the course, the wealthy moms in 'Big Little Lies' are living the high, suburban life in their beach town until a chalk outline ruins the vibes. Hell hath no fury like a soccer mom scorned. Kidman's portrayal of Celeste, a domestic abuse victim and mother, is both heartbreaking and brutal to watch. For anyone who might be triggered, this is depicted quite violently on-screen. Celeste is one of the more kindhearted moms in the bunch, providing a sharp contrast to the show's more stereotypical suburban Mean Girls. Kidman's raw performance makes it impossible not to root for Celeste as she navigates her trauma and illustrates the difficulty of leaving an abusive relationship. The 2017 show marked the first time Kidman worked with series creator David E. Kelley, leading to a longstanding professional relationship. 'Big Little Lies' boasts a dynamite cast that includes Reese Witherspoon (Madeline), Shailene Woodley (Jane), Zoë Kravitz (Bonnie) and Laura Dern (Renata). Though the first two seasons aired between 2017 and 2019, the original novel's writer, Liane Moriarty, has a sequel in the works. The upcoming book sparked an already-announced 2026 reboot based on the yet-to-be-released sequel. Now that's trust. Watch on HBO Max

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Argues 'Your Digital Self Should Belong To You' At UN Internet Forum
Addressing this week's UN Internet Governance Forum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt said he wanted to focus on one basic principle. 'Your digital self should belong to you. That the data that humans produce — or writings and our voices and the connections that the make, our ideas — should belong to us. And that any economic value that's generated from this data should be shared with the humans that produce it,' he said in a short speech. I got to speak about AI at their annual Internet Governance Forum (my first time at a UN thing 🤩) and it really does feel good to see so many people from so many places around the world convening in good faith to… — Joseph Gordon-Levitt (@hitRECordJoe) June 26, 2025 Of course, that very concept is being mulled right now in Hollywood and being litigated between content producers and tech giants. Just yesterday, a federal judge ruled that Meta's unauthorized use of copyrighted works from Sarah Silverman and other authors to train generative AI models is a 'fair use,' but warned that the practice may in many circumstances be illegal. The actual impacts of AI, said Gordon-Levitt in a fireside chat at the UN Forum, could be very broad. 'I think that the impact could mean that creativity as we know it sort of goes away, to be really honest. I hate to put it in grave terms. That's a worst-case scenario, but I think it's on the table. I don't think it has to happen that way. I think if we all figure out how to steer the ship, so to speak, the technology could be a wonderful thing for creativity, and we're sort of at that crossroads right now.' Watch the actor's fireside chat at the event below. AI and its impacts are familiar terrain for Gordon-Levitt. Late last year, Deadline broke the news that he was set to direct an untitled AI thriller for T-Street Productions, the production company of Rian Johnson & Ram Bergman, with Anne Hathaway set to star. And for more than a decade, the actor has run a company in the digital space; HitRecord is an online collaborative media platform he founded with his brother Dan. AMC Says New NCM Preshow Ads Don't 'Negatively Influence Moviegoing Habits'
Word got out today that the No. 1 exhibition circuit, AMC Theatres, will start running more advertising during their pre-shows beginning July 1. Why is this a big deal? Bigger than the taxation of trade routes? Because AMC close to six years ago said it wouldn't partake in National CineMedia's new ad spots. At the time, AMC believed more ads would make moviegoers mad. More from Deadline Paramount Fires WPP Media, Its Longtime Agency Of Record, In Cost-Saving Move Amid Skydance Merger Review Tastes Great, Less Filling? Report On Meta Plan For Cheaper, Fully AI-Made Ads Boosts Tech Giant's Stock As Media Agency Shares Slump 'And Just Like That' Companion Series Features Genesis Tie-In As WBD Ad Sales Hits The Gas On IP Strategy Well, AMC has changed course. Other rivals are already running longer ads during their pre-shows. Exhibition can't survive on film rentals alone. Essentially, AMC has hammered a deal with National CineMedia Inc. to run the spots during each movie's pre-shows. National CineMedia is the ad network in major circuits. There's a 'platinum spot' that will be shown on screens just prior to a movie's start. AMC will reportedly get a cut of the ad sales. Said an AMC spokesperson, 'For the past five years, AMC has sought out crucial revenue that is not reliant on the increase of base ticket prices. We've done this through more and better moviegoing enhancements like our significant expansion of PLFs, a greater selection of food and beverage offerings, and the introduction of movie-going merchandise like popcorn buckets and other collectable concession vessels. During that same time, others in our industry have taken in revenue through their partnership with NCM, via these so-called Platinum Spots.' They added, 'While AMC was initially reluctant to bring this to our theatres, our competitors have fully participated for more than five years without any direct impact to their attendance. This is a strong indication that this NCM preshow initiative does not negatively influence moviegoing habits. Our participation delivers us vital revenue as we continue on our recovery path and allows us to continue offering significant value on ticket prices through initiatives like Discount Tuesday, 20% off matinee pricing, and the upcoming 50% off Wednesday ticketing program.' Bloomberg first had the story about AMC's pre-show ads. Nicole Kidman's daughters joined her while she filmed the newest season of 'Nine Perfect Strangers' The actress said they came to Austria but were not interested in visiting her on set Kidman shares her two younger daughters with husband Keith UrbanNicole Kidman's kids may have joined her abroad while she filmed her newest TV show, but they were not interested in actually coming to set. The actress, 57, spoke with PEOPLE about the newest season of her Hulu show, Nine Perfect Strangers, and revealed that two of her kids, daughters Faith Margaret, 14, and Sunday Rose, 16, joined her abroad in Austria while filming. "My family was in Austria and they loved it," says Kidman. "They were skiing, and so that was great having things for them to do while I was working." "They would spend a day skiing and I would commute from a little ski lodge to work," says the proud mom. As for whether her kids were interested in seeing her work or going to set, Kidman admits, "No, not really." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Kidman, who shares her two younger girls with husband Keith Urban, was interviewed by Allure in May and was asked if she likes who she is as a mother. "I do, actually. Yeah, I'm very close to both my girls," Kidman said of her teenage daughters. "I sit on their beds and discuss the most intimate things; I get to be their guide." "If they want to tell me to be quiet, they can. I'm able to apologize to them. I'm able to stand up to them. I very much like the relationship we have. It's nice to be able to say that." In March, Kidman's daughter Sunday Rose shared a sweet boomerang on her Instagram Stories after she joined her actress mom at a screening for her film Holland in Nashville, Tenn. In the clip, Sunday Rose could be seen wearing a red blazer and black skirt, pairing them with a navy V-neck sweater and a white collared shirt. She posed by a wall of tulips, where the film's name was nestled and written on a wooden board. "So proud of my mama 🩷 can't wait for yall to see HOLLAND on @primevideo March 27!!!!" she wrote over the video. Earlier in March, the Babygirl actress returned the favor and shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of her teenage daughter Sunday Rose walking the runway during Paris Fashion Week. In the photo, the teenager could be seen strutting the catwalk for Miu Miu, wearing a yellow leather skirt, maroon leather tank top and plaid jacket. She also wore tan boots and added winged eyeliner. "Love you baby! @sundayrose," Kidman sweetly wrote over the photo, which marked Sunday Rose's second appearance on the runway. Judge Threatens To Bar Sean 'Diddy' Combs From Courtroom If He Continues To Interact With Jurors
Sean 'Diddy' Combs might be barred from his own trial, the judge said Thursday in a bombshell moment. With the jury absent, Judge Arun Subramanian warned defense attorneys in a sidebar that he might exclude the defendant from the Lower Manhattan courtroom if he continued to look, nod or make facial expressions at jurors, CNN reported. More from Deadline Sean 'Diddy' Combs: An Updated Timeline Of Charges, Allegations & Consequences The Rap Mogul Faces Sean 'Diddy' Combs: An Updated Timeline Of Charges, Allegations & Consequences The Rap Mogul Faces Warner Bros Discovery Hits Back At Russell Simmons' "Unfounded Allegations" In Ex-Mogul's $20M Suit Over 2020 Sexual Assault Documentary - Update The admonition came after Subramanian said he saw Combs looking at and 'nodding vigorously' toward the jury twice during today's cross-examination of prosecution witness Bryana Bongolan, who had told the court Wednesday that the defendant had dangled her off a 17th-story balcony in 2016. Subramanian told defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo that he had been clear that there were to be no theatrics during Combs' trial on federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution and more. 'I looked and I saw your client looking at the jury and nodding vigorously,' CNN reported the judge telling the attorney. 'It is absolutely unacceptable.' Asked by the jurist if it would happen again, Agnifilo said per CNN that it would not. Subramanian said that if there was any further juror interaction by Combs, he might instruct the jury about it and, potentially, consider barring the defendant from the courtroom. Combs, 55, faces up to life in prison if convicted. At the four-week mark of the trial, the jury of eight men and four women in the courtroom has heard explicit and sometimes heartrending testimony about rapes, emotional and physical violence, blackmail, and filmed drug-juiced 'freak-offs' from Combs' former longtime girlfriend Cassie Ventura and his ex-personal assistant 'Mia.'
