Formation of Youth Commission in Bihar will directly benefit crores of youth: MoS Nityanand Rai

New Delhi [India], July 9 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, on Tuesday welcomed the decision of the Bihar cabinet to constitute a Youth Commission for the betterment of young people in the state. Speaking to ANI, MoS Rai said that this decision will prove beneficial in providing more employment opportunities to the youth of Bihar and making them self-reliant. 'The formation of the Youth Commission is important and historic in the direction of making the youth of Bihar self-reliant and capable of moving forward towards development and progress,' the minister said. Rai also welcomed the state cabinet's decision to provide 35% reservation for women in state government jobs, saying that this will provide large-scale employment opportunities for women in Bihar. 'They will get more employment opportunities. This will lead to faster progress of women. Participation of women ensured more rapidly in strongly advancing the resolution of developed India and developed Bihar,' he said. 'Under the leadership of Modi Ji and Nitish Kumar, the progress and prosperity of women, youth, poor, and farmers are the first priorities, so I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as the NDA government of Bihar,' he added. Highlighting the 'many historic decisions' of the Janata Dal (United)-led government, the Ujiapur MP said that such decisions are for the empowerment and upliftment of women and weaker sections. 'The NDA government of Bihar has already taken many historic decisions,' he said. Earlier today, the Bihar cabinet approved 43 schemes and projects, including the formation of the Bihar Youth Commission, a 35 per cent reservation for women native to the State, and a Rs 100 crore diesel subsidy for farmers. "Criminals used to get protection, now they are punished": Nityanand Rai hits back over opposition criticism of law and order situation in Bihar

Patna (Bihar) [India], July 5 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai has hit back at opposition parties in Bihar over their criticism of Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in the state concerning law and order situation and said there is no 'panchayat justice' now and those who commit a crime face the full force of law. In an interview with ANI, Nityanand Rai, who is MP from Ujiyarpur in Bihar, said that that criminals do not get protection in the state and there is no interference in investigations. He also talked of the development initiatives of the coalition government in Bihar which includes Janata Dal-United and BJP. 'Crime data is uploaded, NCRB uploads it after taking it from the states. Earlier (during RJD rule) criminals used to get protection, but now if a crime happens, there is proper investigation and the perpetrators are taken to court and punished. If an incident happens, there is also investigation into the lapses. Earlier, people used to go to ministers' houses...'panchayats' would be held. Was there development before? Were there roads? What about electricity, hospital facilities in their (RJD) time?' Nityanand Rai asked. The NDA government, which takes 'jungle raj' jibes at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has faced mounting criticism from opposition criticism over law and order situation in the state. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had in a post on X in April listed as many as 117 crime incidents, alleging that these had occurred in the last few days in the NDA government. He alleged that there is 'collusion with criminals' in the ruling coalition. RJD, Congress and other opposition parties in Bihar have also slammed the NDA government over the murder of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna. Speaking about the Rohingya issue, Nityanand Rai said they were 'given protection' by certain people and parties before, but the Centre has taken steps that 'no Rohingya enters the country'. Without naming any party, he said illegal immigration has been used by certain people to gain votes. 'I can't tell the total number (in Bihar) but I can definitely say that they are not coming in anymore. They have come in (earlier), have been given protection too. But now they don't have all that,' he said. Bihar will face assembly polls later this year. Political parties have geared up preparations for the elections. (ANI)

NDA netas condemn Kharge's ‘small state' remark on Bihar

Patna: The ruling parties in Bihar on Thursday criticised Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for referring to Bihar as a "small state", describing his remarks as offensive and dismissive. Senior BJP leader and Union minister of state for home, Nityanand Rai, described the comment as "extremely unfortunate and insulting". Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief and former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha also criticised Kharge, saying he had exposed the "true mindset" of the Congress party. Congress spokesperson Asit Nath Tiwari defended Kharge, saying that the veteran leader, hailing from southern India, may have faltered due to his limited command over Hindi. Kharge made the comment while criticising PM Narendra Modi for attending an election rally in Madhubani on April 24, just two days after the Pahalgam terror attack. He said, "We demanded a special session of Parliament, but the PM chose to campaign in a small state like Bihar and gave it nothing special in the Budget." Responding sharply, Nityanand Rai said the "13 crore people of Bihar cannot tolerate such an insult," adding that Kharge's statement was a "direct attack on the state's proud history, culture, and public consciousness." Echoing similar sentiments, Union minister Chirag Paswan described the statement as "disrespectful" while Kushwaha called it reflective of "Congress's outdated mindset." "They have once again revealed that they don't understand Bihar," he said. Rai reminded Kharge that Bihar is the land of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, who led the movement against the Emergency. "On the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, your words insult Bihar. The people will give a democratic response in the elections," he said. He also questioned the silence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the issue.

"Whoever is in trouble is evacuated": Nityanand Rai hails evacuation efforts under Operation Sindhu

Patna (Bihar) [India], June 24 (ANI): Union Minister Nityanand Rai lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the successful evacuation efforts under Operation Sindhu, saying that ever since he came to power whoever is in trouble is evacuated, whether it is during COVID or during any conflict. 'Ever since PM Narendra Modi came to power, whoever is in trouble is evacuated, whether it is during COVID or during any conflict. Some foreign citizens, who were not evacuated by their respective nations, also came in holding Indian flag and then flew off to their countries. PM Modi does not want any Indian to face adversity in any part of the world,' Rai told reporters. A special flight carrying 281 Indian nationals, along with three Sri Lankan and two Nepalese citizens, stranded in conflict-hit Iran, arrived safely in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. With this, the total number of Indians brought back from Iran under Operation Sindhu has reached 2,576, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said. In a post on X, sharing the pictures of the evacuees, the MEA said, 'Update: #OperationSindhu MoS @PmargheritaBJP warmly received 281 Indian, 3 Sri Lankan & 2 Nepalese nationals evacuated from Iran. They arrived in New Delhi on a special flight from Mashhad at 1500 hrs on 24 June. 2576 Indian nationals have now been brought home from Iran as part of #OperationSindhu.' The conflict between Israel and Iran began on June 13 when the former launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, code-named 'Operation Rising Lion'. In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) initiated a large-scale drone and missile campaign called 'Operation True Promise 3', targeting Israeli fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centres.
