The Steelers countdown to kickoff is here — and we're at 64 days until Pittsburgh faces off against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. In the spirit of the countdown, we're taking a look at the history of No. 64 and the players who wore it best. Current Steelers No. 64 wearer: OG Max Scharping Scharping was drafted by the Houston Texans with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2022, he was waived after playing in 48 games, 33 of which were starts. He was quickly claimed off waivers by the Bengals, where he played in 31 games for Cincinnati over the course of two seasons. Scharping signed with the Eagles as a free agent in 2024 but failed to make roster cuts. He would join the Commanders' practice squad, but the Steelers signed him off it in October of 2024. Scharping appeared in just two games last season but was re-signed by Pittsburgh last April on a one-year deal. The journeyman guard's experience is a great addition to the Steelers' offensive line and figures to be the top backup guard behind Isaac Seumalo and Mason McCormick. Last five Steelers to wear No. 64: Best No. 64 in Steelers history: C Jeff Hartings While an honorable mention for No. 64 is DT Steve Furness, the best Steeler to ever wear the number is center Jeff Hartings. He signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent in 2001 and made the transition from guard to center — a move that proved crucial for the Steelers' offensive success in the early 2000s. From 2001 to 2006, Hartings was named First-Team All-Pro, Second-Team All-Pro, and earned two Pro Bowl selections. He was a key part of the Steelers' Super Bowl XL-winning team and anchored the offensive line during that championship run. Hartings retired in 2006 but left a legacy deserving as greatest Steeler to ever wear No. 64 in Pittsburgh. The Houston Texans are less than 100 days away from kicking off the 2025 season in Los Angeles against the Rams at SoFi Stadium and we're counting down the days until a victory ensues on the west coast. Cabinet approves phase one of public transport structuring project between governorates, capital
Ammon News - The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, approved legislation related to the energy sector under the Economic Modernization Vision, measures to enhance public services, agricultural sector development, national export support, and agreements with international organizations and friendly nations. In service enhancement, the Cabinet approved the first phase of structuring the public transportation network between governorate centers and Amman. This phase focuses on high-demand routes, including Irbid-Amman, Karak-Amman, Jerash-Amman, and Salt-North Complex in Amman, with 121 buses targeting approximately 10 million passengers annually. The project, costing approximately JD 4.5 million, aims to improve transportation services with scheduled departures and modernized buses equipped with electronic tracking and fare systems. It will be carried out in partnership with the Greater Amman Municipality to provide reliable and cost-effective transportation services. The Cabinet endorsed the draft Electricity Law for 2025, aiming to replace the temporary law No. 64 of 2002 with a permanent framework. The proposed law outlines the responsibilities of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in developing general policies for the electricity sector, promoting competition, and attracting investment in line with international best practices. It also seeks to harmonize with the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission Law No. 8 of 2017, empowering the Commission to regulate the electricity sector and issue relevant licenses. To stimulate investment in clean energy, the draft law includes provisions to support green hydrogen projects and introduces the concept of electrical energy storage to enhance energy security, diversify sources, and reduce electricity costs. The Cabinet approved the executive action plan for the National Strategy for Future Stations 2025, following its recent endorsement of the overall strategy. The initiative seeks to restructure, manage, and operate Future Stations previously known as Knowledge Stations to provide a conducive environment for delivering digital services to all community segments across the Kingdom. The action plan outlines a phased timeline for the development and operation of Future Stations, with an emphasis on enhancing digital transformation and facilitating access to government e-services. It includes a directive to integrate these stations with youth centers in various governorates to optimize existing infrastructure and empower young people to leverage the provided digital services. Aimed at advancing digital inclusion, the plan seeks to provide comprehensive digital solutions that enhance user experiences, activate the digital identity for seamless government transactions, and offer technical support while ensuring the highest standards of digital security and privacy. It also aims to streamline government procedures, reducing time and effort for citizens. To ensure the effective implementation of the action plan, the necessary financial resources will be allocated and monitored through the budget of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. A budget of one million Jordanian dinars annually has been earmarked for the initiative, starting this year and continuing through 2028. In climate resilience, the Cabinet approved the National Strategy for Adapting the Health Sector to Climate Change (2024) and its Action Plan (2025-2027). The strategy aims to address climate change's impact on public health, including awareness campaigns and research initiatives. The Cabinet has approved the exchange of memoranda between the governments of Jordan and Japan to establish a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for water supply in Ma'an Governorate. Under the terms of the memoranda, a grant of $8.7 million will be provided to fund the project, which is aimed at enhancing the operational and management systems of water supply facilities in Ma'an. The project will involve the installation of SCADA systems and the rehabilitation of key infrastructure, contributing to the overall improvement of water service quality in the region. The SCADA system will play a pivotal role by linking directly to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation's emergency control center. This connection will allow for the immediate identification of issues in water lines, facilitating a swift response to disruptions. It also seeks to maintain the current income tax rate of 3% on the maritime shipping sector, aiming to support the competitiveness of the sector and enhance the growth of national exports. In international cooperation, the Cabinet has approved several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors with international partners. Among these, an MoU between the Kingdom and the State of Qatar will be signed during the 51st meeting of the Regional Committee for the Middle East of the United Nations Tourism Organization in Doha. This agreement seeks to foster tourism exchange and promote business events such as exhibitions and conferences that attract tourists, through coordination between the respective authorities of both nations. In addition, the Cabinet approved an MoU between the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS) to enhance bilateral cooperation in statistics. This memorandum aims to boost statistical development, facilitate the exchange of statistical achievements, and foster the use of big data and data governance to enhance public trust and safeguard data privacy. Furthermore, an MoU was approved between the National Cybersecurity Centrer and the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. This agreement includes a £3 million grant to strengthen cooperation in cybersecurity, enhance protection against cyberattacks, and improve digital security through the exchange of expertise and the development of the Kingdom's cybersecurity systems. A year of progress pays off for Ford's GT3 program at Daytona
Ford Performance can take a bow after capturing the Mustang GT3's first win globally in style on the Daytona high banks Sunday afternoon. The No. 65 was steered masterfully by factory ace Dennis Olsen at the end of the race when an all-out brawl broke out between the front running pack in GTD PRO. Seven cars finished on the lead lap in class, with heavy-hitters from Corvette, BMW, Mercedes and Ferrari also in the mix. But it was Ford that prevailed after the frantic run to the flag, with Olsen installed in the lead car and Seb Priaulx entrusted to drive the sister No. 64, which made it a double podium with a third-place finish. 'I was watching the mirror every single corner, watching for the Chevy coming up the inside,' Olsen said. 'I made sure to cover the gaps and hoped that the diffuser and the bumper wouldn't go off and get a technical flag, but luckily didn't. 'I think it was a faultless race by all the team, by all the drivers really.' The turnaround for Ford's flagship GT racer has been remarkable. A year on from the car's rough debut in the 2024 edition of the Rolex 24, it looks like an entirely different prospect following Ford and Multimatic's move to fix the car's weaknesses and focus on extracting performance from its 5.4 liter V8. 'It's simply amazing,' Mies said when asked to describe the car's development over the past 12 months. 'We came here exactly a year ago, leading the race back then, which was fantastic for a new car. But like everyone, we had some issues. 'The most obvious change is that the rear deck lid isn't coming off anymore. We figured out quite quickly where the problem came from — obviously from side drafting. But to be honest, in development or testing, when do you ever side draft, right? It never happens. 'We had to learn the hard way in the first race, which is one of the toughest races in the world. So yeah, we had no preparation really to test that. 'But there have been things in the background and also on the team side, too. I must say this is probably the biggest improvement compared to last year. It just feels like we made another good step in terms of preparation. 'There's still things we need to improve for the future and people are working on that, but time will tell.' As the time ticked away, the GTD PRO fight heated up beyond boiling, allowing the sister No. 64 up into third. Ford's hard work paying off with a double-podium was surely cause for celebration. Brandon Badraoui/Lumen Battles in GTD PRO raged in the second half of the race. Corvette Racing vs. Paul Miller Racing stood out and will live long in memory after Augusto Farfus, Connor Di Phillippi and Tommy Milner came together while battling for the lead. It was a fight in which Paul Miller utilized its delayed No. 48 BMW M4 GT3 EVO to block the No. 4 Corvette and allow the No. 1 to fight for the top spot. There was contact; there was damage and a post-stint war of words. Milner described it as 'dirty' and 'disappointing' before Farfus defended his actions, claiming he had 'nothing to do with it' (the contact between the No. 4 and No. 1 at the International Horseshoe) explaining that his intention was simply to 'support' the sister car. It didn't end there. The fight resumed in the run to the flag, with the No. 4 Corvette of Nicolas Varrone turning the No. 1 into a spin while dicing for podium spots, which he was later penalized for. Ford got the benefit in two ways. First, the squabbling allowed Olsen to pull a gap with time expiring and second, it helped make sure that Ford beat its rivals from General Motors. 'I think from my side it was my target to make it difficult for them and make them fight,' Olsen added when asked to describe his run at the final restart. 'That was my only chance. They were quicker. Honestly, I had to defend my position and stay inside — that's the only thing. Once they start to fight, I could try to run away, and that's what we did.' Frederic Vervisch, the third driver in the No. 65, joked that the team was under instruction from Ford's CEO Jim Farley this weekend. 'He said, 'Whatever you do, you have to be in front of Chevrolet,'' Vervisch said. 'Corvette are extremely strong, and I think they hid their A-game because suddenly they were going a lot faster than yesterday.
