65 days until the Texans' 2025 season opener: Who has worn No. 65?

The Houston Texans are less than 100 days away from kicking off the 2025 season in Los Angeles against the Rams at SoFi Stadium and we're counting down the days until a victory ensues on the west coast. Texans Wire will each day tell you which player has worn the number of the day leading up to kickoff and pick the player who ensured the number best during their time at NRG Stadium. As for today, let's take a look at who has won No. 65 since the inaugural season in 2002. Texans players to wear No. 65 No. 65 currently belongs to rookie center Eli Cox. An undrafted free agent out of Kentucky, Cox has a long way to go in making the active 53-man roster, but he was one of the standouts during team drills in the early stages of minicamp. Coming from an SEC background might be enticing for the Texans, especially given their hit rate at the position in the Nick Caserio era. Before he makes the jump over to the starting lineup, let's just wait and see if Cox travels out west to L.A. in Week 1. Since Cox is a rookie and new to the team, he can't be the G.O.A.T. of No. 65. Options are limited, but there's a clear-cut favorite for the title. Best Player: OL Mike Brisiel Mancz deserves some love because he was the ultimate sixth lineman, but Brisiel was a full-time starter for multiple seasons. After going undrafted out of Colorado State and spending a season in NFL Europe, Brisiel returned to Houston and kicked into the starting right guard spot, which he held down for four seasons, recording 47 starts. While Brisiel eventually rotated in the starting lineup, his story of going from the Hamburg Sea Devils to the starting lineup for the Texans deserves some appreciation.

Steelers countdown to kickoff — No. 65: a history of the number and who wore it best

The Steelers countdown to kickoff is here — and we're at 65 days until Pittsburgh faces off against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. In the spirit of the countdown, we're taking a look at the history of No. 65 and the players who wore it best. Current Steelers No. 65 wearer: N/A There is no player currently wearing No. 65 on the Steelers roster, but it was last worn by Dan Moore Jr., who signed with the Titans this offseason. Last five Steelers to wear No. 65: Best No. 65 in Steelers history: OT John Jackson Jackson stands out as the best Steeler to ever wear No. 65. Drafted by Pittsburgh with the 252nd overall pick in the 10th round of the 1988 NFL Draft, Jackson served as the Steelers' starting left tackle for nearly a decade, from 1988 to 1997. He played in 153 games for Pittsburgh, 130 of those coming as starts. He was tasked with protecting Steelers quarterbacks like Mark Malone, Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, and Kordell Stewart. Jackson's steady play and durability even led to a Super Bowl XXX appearance, where the Cowboys unfortunately defeated the Steelers 27-17. Jackson's impact in the '90s cannot be overlooked and he is arguably the greatest Steeler to ever don No. 65. USC football countdown to kickoff continues—Melvin Jackson in focus

The countdown to USC's 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 65 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. There are not a whole lot of recent options for the number 65, so today, we take it all the way back to the 1970s and look at former USC offensive lineman Melvin Jackson. Position: Offensive line Years played at USC: 1972-1975 Career highlights: A 2019 story from Reign of Troy detailed Jackson's legacy in Cardinal and Gold. "Jackson was listed as a linebacker on the roster in 1973, then wearing the No. 54, but he swapped it for the No. 65 in 1974 taking up a place on the offensive line," writer Alicia de Artola wrote. "Originally training as an offensive guard, he stepped in at offensive tackle briefly during the 1974 season because of injury. His involvement wasn't great, but he was around to earn a national title ring with the Trojans. "The next season Jackson moved into the starting lineup permanently opposite All-American Marvin Powell. Despite the clear talent on the other side, USC's coaches voted Jackson the winner of the John Dye Memorial Award as the team's lineman of the year. "He certainly played a key role in the Trojans victory over Notre Dame in 1975. With the Irish leading 17-14, running back Ricky Bell had powered his offense to one-yard line. However, on a goal line carry, the ball popped out of his hands and into the air. "'When I fumbled, I told myself that I threw the ball game away,' Bell said in the Gannet News Service. "The game wasn't lost because Jackson was there to recover the ball on the two-yard line. That set up quarterback Vince Evan's game winning score." After USC: The Green Bay Packers selected Jackson in the 12th round of the 1976 NFL Draft. He would go on to play five seasons with the team. Jackson is the grandfather of former USC and current Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Austin Jackson.

This major Abu Dhabi bus route will now use electric buses

Cleaner future, greener future… If you caught our piece only months ago about electric buses driving you around the UAE capital, we have more news: Abu Dhabi has taken another step closer to a greener future, with the launch of eco-friendly Bus Service No. 65, operated entirely by green buses powered by hydrogen and electric energy. Images: Abu Dhabi DMT, unsplash This initiative will boost the capital city's sustainable transport ecosystem, with buses operating with zero per cent emissions. As per data released by Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), this will result in 200 tonnes of less carbon dioxide daily, the equivalent of 14,700 fewer cars on the city's roads. Bus Service No. 65 will operate between Abu Dhabi's Marina Mall and Al Reem Island, ferrying about 6,000 riders a day across a total distance of 2,000km covered. The introduction of electric buses on this route is only one small step in an ambitious initiative that will soon see half of Abu Dhabi's public transport using green energy, with an eye on decarbonising urban transport. You'll soon also be able to ride these eco-friendly buses on Route 160 (between Khalifa City and Capital Park in Al Danah), and Route A2 (between Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street and Zayed International Airport's Employee Consolidation Centre). With tech such as advanced battery technologies and hydrogen fuel cells powering these green buses, Abu Dhabi is hitting new highs in sustainable transportation while supporting the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 vision. All of this, without compromising on passenger comfort. > Sign up for FREE to get exclusive updates that you are interested in
