Jackson stands out as the best Steeler to ever wear No. 65. Drafted by Pittsburgh with the 252nd overall pick in the 10th round of the 1988 NFL Draft, Jackson served as the Steelers' starting left tackle for nearly a decade, from 1988 to 1997. He played in 153 games for Pittsburgh, 130 of those coming as starts. He was tasked with protecting Steelers quarterbacks like Mark Malone, Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, and Kordell Stewart. Jackson's steady play and durability even led to a Super Bowl XXX appearance, where the Cowboys unfortunately defeated the Steelers 27-17. Jackson's impact in the '90s cannot be overlooked and he is arguably the greatest Steeler to ever don No. 65.

Texas A&M will enter the 2025 season stacked with talent at every position. Still, most importantly, the players at the top of the depth chart bring a ton of SEC snaps to the table, especially across the offensive line and at linebacker. In the trenches, left tackle Trey Zuhn III, left guard Chase Bisontis, center Mark Nabou, right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, and right tackle Dametreous Crownover all possess NFL potential. However, Adams represents the entire group due to his elite run-blocking skill set, paired with his violent demeanor and overall toughness, making him a likely first or second-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. This offseason, Adams has been praised by nearly every college football outlet, including Pro Football Focus. Paired with junior linebacker Taurean York, the former three-star recruiting prospects have surpassed their expectations and will be heavily relied upon throughout the 2025 season. This week, PFF released its "50 best players" list, comprised of the site's top-ranked college players heading into the fall. Unsurprisingly, Adams landed at No. 16 and is the fourth offensive lineman ranked below Clemson's Peter Woods (No. 3), Utah tackle Spencer Fano, and Florida center Jake Slaughter. "Reed-Adams dominated in his first year with the Aggies. The Kansas transfer ranked second in PFF overall grade, PFF run-blocking grade and PFF WAA among Power Four guards. He is a powerful player at 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds who can excel in any run-blocking scheme. Reed-Adams led all Power Four guards in gap PFF run-blocking grade and ranked fourth in zone PFF run-blocking grade this past season." Linebacker Taurean York is regarded as the best or second-best prospect at the position behind former Texas A&M commit Anthony Hill Jr., who has since thrived during his last two seasons with the Longhorns. York's instincts and elite run-stopping ability should result in his best season yet as he continues to improve in coverage. Just a three-star recruit, York hasn't let his recruiting profile dictate his college career. He has been a starter in each of his first two college seasons and leads all returning Power Four linebackers with 59 run-defense stops since 2023. His 122 plays with first contact on ball carriers are tied for fourth in the Power Four. York has a stocky build at 6 feet and 235 pounds, and he is an excellent tackler. There isn't a shortage of explosive offensive players in the NFL, but which players provide the most fireworks on the field? In the spirit of the fourth of July holiday, USA TODAY Sports' Tyler Dragon provides his take for the four most explosive offensive players in the NFL this upcoming season. Two-time MVP Lamar Jackson is an obvious answer but is he the lone quarterback on the list? Does Tyreek Hill make the cut after a down year by his standards. How many wide receivers and running backs make the list? Here are the four most explosive offensive players in the NFL: Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson Ravens coach John Harbaugh said this offseason that Jackson will be the highest-paid player in football when he signs his next contract. There's no doubt the two-time MVP deserves that distinction. Jackson is coming off a season in which he led NFL in passer rating (119.6), set career highs in passing yards (4,172) and touchdown passes (41), and became the first quarterback in league history with at least 4,000 passing yards and 800 rushing yards (915). The Ravens are once again on the short list of contenders this year. And Jackson and company are motivated after a disappointing showing this past postseason. 'We're going to bounce back,' Jackson told reporters this offseason. 'We'll come back and I feel like we're gonna have vengeance on our mind." Eagles running back Saquon Barkley The Eagles rewarded Barkley with a two-year, $41.2 million contract extension after his superb year in Philly. He's the first running back in NFL history to earn more than $20 million per year. Barkley's 2,005 rushing yards were the eighth most in a regular season in NFL history. And to top it off, he became the league's all-time single-season, including playoffs, rushing leader during the Eagles Super Bowl 59 win. Barkley compiled an NFL-high 46 runs of 10-plus yards. He's an awesome teammate. Those are the things that make him very special," Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said, via the team's official website. Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs Good things tend to happen when the Lions give Gibbs the football. Gibbs had a Lions single-season record and NFL-high 20 touchdowns from scrimmage last season. He became only the fourth player in league history to produce a season with at least 1,900 yards from scrimmage, 16 rushing TDs and four receiving TDs in 2024. Entering 2025, the versatile running back is tied-for-first in total touchdowns (31) and ranked third in scrimmage yards (3,190) and rushing yards (2,357) in Lions history through two-career seasons. Gibbs has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons. He's the first Lions running back to do that since Barry Sanders. He's averaged 5.5 yards per carry to begin his career. 'I feel like last year was more of a breakout season for (Gibbs),' Sanders said of Gibbs this offseason. 'He eclipsed 1,000 yards. Just the type of exciting, dynamic plays that he's able to make. His speed and his vision.' Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase Chase earned the receiving triple crown last season. He was rewarded when the Bengals re-signed him to a massive extension this offseason, making him the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver. Joe Burrow and Chase have one of the league's most potent connections. Chase has 395 catches for 5,425 receiving yards and 46 TDs in four seasons. His total receiving yards and receiving TDs are each the third-most in a player's first four seasons in NFL history. The wideout leads the NFL in touchdown receptions of 40 or more yards (18), 50 or more yards (13) and 60 or more yards (12) since the start of his 2021 rookie season, per the Bengals. There's no sign of Burrow and Chase slowing down. The Bengals have both signed through the 2029 season. '(Chase) is a special player,' Burrow said to reporters last season. '..anything can change' Texas A&M still in the thick of 2026 4-star Edge's recuitment
Texas A&M's 2026 edge class is in great shape with commitments from four-stars Jordan Carter and Samu Moala, and five-star Tristian Givens, while five-star Anthony "Tank" Jones recently included the Aggies in his final three program list. However, four-star edge rusher KJ Ford out of Duncanville (TX) also placed A&M in his final three program list, but the competition is fierce ahead of his announcement on Thursday, July 10. Right now, Ford is favored to land with the Gators, but with six days remaining, it's anyone's game, as Ohio State and the Aggies are still in the thick of his recruitment. However, Elko and defensive line coaches Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie will need to pull out all the stops, which will include a strong NIL pitch, similar to Texas Tech's landing of five-star tackle Felix Ojo over Texas on Friday. According to AggieYell recruiting insider Landyn Rosow, Florida will remain the favorite, but in today's college football landscape, anything is possible. "Texas A&M has been making Ford a priority over the past few years, but over the past few months I've got the sense that these two parties are heading different directions, and the Gators have been trending behind scenes. My On3 RPM has reflected that. Now, there are still eight days until he makes his decision, and with how college football is, anything can change." Ford has been one of the most productive defenders in Texas over the past two seasons, racking up 57 tackles, seven sacks, 16 tackles for loss, and 15 hurries during his 2024 junior season. Staying with Rosow's assessment, 247Sports' Mike Roach still believes that Texas A&M and Ohio State could be significant factors in the final days, given each program's recruiting momentum this summer. According to 247Sports, Ford is currently positioned as the 98th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 11th-ranked edge, and the 16th-ranked prospect in Texas.
