SHAH ALAM, July 23 (Bernama) -- A Pakistani man was charged in the Sessions Court here today on five charges involving sodomy, sexual assault and robbery of two children and two teenage boys between April and June. Muhammad Hassan, 24, however, pleaded not guilty after all charges were read out before Judge Norazlin Othman in Urdu. The accused is facing two charges of having unnatural sex with a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old boy without their consent. The offences were committed on June 26 and May 18 in an area near Section 27 Shah Alam at 10.05 pm and 1.30 pm respectively. The accused was charged under Section 377C of the Penal Code which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and caning. The man was also accused of robbing a 19-year-old teenager of RM230 in cash at the same place and time and was charged under Section 392 of the Penal Code which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 14 years and a fine or whipping, if convicted. In addition, in the same proceedings, the accused was also charged with committing sexual assault on two boys aged eight and 13 in May and June, also around Section 27. The charge was made under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and can be subject to whipping. Today's proceedings were conducted by deputy public prosecutors Nurul Sofea Jaysal and Ruthra Raj Selvarajoo while the accused was not represented.

Pakistani national Muhammad Hassan was charged in the Shah Alam sessions court today. PETALING JAYA : A Pakistani man pleaded not guilty in the Shah Alam sessions court today to several charges, including sodomy, sexual assault and robbery involving teenage and child victims. Muhammad Hassan, 24, made his plea after the charges were read to him in Urdu before judge Norazlin Othman, Berita Harian reported. Muhammad is accused of committing unnatural sexual intercourse with two male teenagers, aged 19 and 15, without their consent. The offences were allegedly committed on April 18 and June 26 in a forested area and a hall in Section 27, Shah Alam, at 1.30pm and 10.05pm, respectively. He was charged on two counts under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of five to 20 years and whipping, if convicted. Muhammad was also charged with robbing the 19-year-old teenager of RM230 in cash, as well as threatening to injure the victim when he tried to escape. The offence falls under Section 392 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison with the possibility of a fine or whipping upon conviction. He was further charged with sexually assaulting two boys, aged eight and 13, at a playground in Section 28 and a wooded area near a school in Section 27 sometime between May 27 and late June. He faces a charge under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a maximum 20-year jail term and whipping, if found guilty. The prosecution was led by deputy public prosecutors Nurul Sofea Jaysal and Ruthra Raj Selvarajoo. The accused was unrepresented. Muhammad appealed to the court to appoint a lawyer for him, as he did not have any acquaintance or family in the country. The court set Sept 23 for the next case mention.

SHAH ALAM: A foreign student from a private university was charged in the Sessions Court today with causing grievous hurt to his ex-girlfriend by stabbing her in the neck with a knife last week. You Wei, 22, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him before Judge Norazlin Othman. He is accused of committing the offence against 20-year-old Wu Jalin using a dangerous weapon, which could have caused her death, at the university in Bandar Sunway at 6.30pm on July 14. The charge, under Section 326 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of 20 years, and a fine or whipping upon conviction. Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Sofea Jaysal did not offer bail. "We are concerned that the accused may flee the country despite having a valid passport, which expires on Oct 31 next year," she said. Lawyer Revin Kumar said his client is a third-year student at the university and is expected to complete his studies within a year. "He has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is currently receiving treatment at a private clinic. "He was arrested on July 14 and has been remanded for seven days." "He has been residing in Malaysia since September 2023 and pledges to remain here to answer the charge. "I ask that he be allowed bail with additional conditions such as to surrender his passport to the court and report to the police station," he said. Norazlin granted You bail of RM20,000 with two sureties. She also ordered him to report to the police station monthly, surrender his passport to the court, and refrain from harassing the victim and prosecution witnesses. The court set Sept 17 for mention. Viral videos of the incident show university students rushing to assist her, attempting to stop the bleeding from her neck, while several male students restrained the suspect. She was sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for treatment. As of last week, Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat had said that the victim was stable but unable to give her statement yet. The police, nevertheless, have recorded statements from 12 people as part of investigations.

The alleged offence took place around 6.30 pm on July 14 on the second floor of a private university in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya. He was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years' imprisonment and is liable to a fine or caning, upon conviction. During today's proceedings, deputy public prosecutor Nurul Sofea Jaysal did not offer bail. However, the accused's lawyer, Revin Kumar, appealed for the court's discretion to grant one, submitting that his client had fully cooperated during the investigation and was willing to comply with any additional conditions imposed. "The accused is currently undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder at a private clinic and is on prescribed medication.
