Samsung's next smart alert might change how you track packages
Samsung may be planning to expand its Now Brief feature with new delivery-related alerts. According to an APK teardown of the Samsung Messages app (version 16.1.10.7), there are signs that the app could soon notify users when they receive messages about package deliveries. Now Brief first appeared with One UI 7 and has slowly gained more functions. Just recently, it was reported that Samsung is working on adding alerts for parking locations, smart home updates, and battery warnings for connected wearables. Now, delivery message notifications could be the next feature in line. The latest findings come from strings of code found inside the Samsung Messages app. One line reads, "You got webp%2$d messages today about a delivery%3$s," while another references, "%d unread messages, including 1 package delivery message." These messages suggest that Now Brief will not only surface package-related updates but also count how many such messages were received that day. This could be helpful for people who want to stay on top of deliveries without constantly checking their apps or emails. Whether it's a new gadget or a personal order, being alerted directly through Now Brief could make the process more convenient. This possible update also comes after Samsung previously said its Messages app would eventually be shut down. Despite that, new features continue to show up. Some of the other features being worked on include birthday reminders, live location sharing, emoji and sticker reactions, and alerts from the Now Bar about suspicious or blocked messages. If Samsung moves forward with these updates, Now Brief could become a more useful daily tool. It has already shifted from just showing calendar and weather info to offering a wider range of smart alerts. We'll have to wait and see whether delivery alerts will be included in a future update. But the continued development around Now Brief and the Messages app suggests Samsung is still looking for ways to improve its software experience, even if some of these tools stay behind the scenes for now. Samsung One UI 8 could finally bring useful additions to Now Brief feature- All details
Back in January 2025, Samsung launched One UI 7 with new AI-powered features to Galaxy S25 models. Some of the hyped features of the update were the Now Bar for the lock screen and the Now Brief feature, which showcased a detailed summary of user activities, weather summaries, and others. Now, Samsung is expected to bring new additions to the Now Brief feature with One UI 8, which could make the feature more useful and intuitive. Samsung to upgrade Now Brief capabilities with the upcoming One UI 8 update.(Samsung) Samsung has already rolled out the Android 16-based OneUI 8 beta for Galaxy S25 models. The official launch for the OS is expected to take place during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, with a stable version rolling out later. If you are familiar with how the Now Bried feature works, then you know how the new generation OS will add more value to this Galaxy AI feature. Also read: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 likely to be world's slimmest foldable- Here's what we know Samsung One UI 8 is bringing Now Brief upgrades According to a SammyGuru report, a leaked One UI 8 build (BYFB) showcased a new personalisation feature for the popular Now Brief feature. The Now Brief feature provides users with a daily summary; however, the feature has limited access to smartphone apps and features for a detailed summary. Now, the leaked build highlights Samsung may include new info cards such as parking spot reminders, smart home alerts, and wearable battery alerts. This will enable users to get timely alerts without relying on any particular app or manual navigation. But, does these info cards work? The report highlighted that the parking spot reminders will remember where the users have parked their cars and also allow users to take a picture. Whereas, the smart home alert will keep users updated about their smart home gadgets and appliances, such as lights and thermostats. Lastly, the wearable battery alerts will let users know when their Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds are running low on battery. These info cards are expected to be customised by the users. Therefore, the feature could be used as a one-stop hub for all necessary information. However, we will have to wait for the stable rollout to confirm these new additions to One UI 8, Now Bried feature.

One UI 8 could make Now Brief even more useful with these additions
Joe Maring / Android Authority TL;DR Samsung's Now Brief will reportedly receive new info cards and a new widget size in One UI 8. Now Brief could offer parking spot reminders, smart home alerts, and battery alerts for your wearables. These cards could join previously leaked info types like water intake reminders and custom cards. Samsung debuted the Now Brief feature on its One UI 7 software back in January. This gives you a summary of relevant info at various times of the day, bringing to mind Google Now on old Android phones. We thought this feature left plenty of room for improvement, though, but it looks like One UI 8 will bring some welcome additions. SammyGuru dug into a leaked One UI 8 beta (BYFB) and found that Now Brief will gain additional info card types. These new info cards are parking spot reminders, smart home alerts, and wearable battery alerts. For starters, the parking spot reminder info card will (surprise) remember where you parked your car. A screenshot of the feature, seen below, suggests that it could somehow rely on pictures you've taken. Meanwhile, smart home alerts in Now Brief could give you info about your smart home gadgets. Presumably, this means you can view info from these devices at the very least. As for wearable battery alerts in Now Brief, this info card will give you low battery warnings for your Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds. These new info cards would go a long way towards making Now Brief a full-fledged one-stop hub for information. Samsung might not be stopping here, either. Previous leaks show that Samsung could offer water intake reminders and even let users create custom cards. That means Now Brief could grow from a curiosity to a proper powerhouse app with One UI 8. SammyGuru also notes that the leaked One UI 8 software now features a 2×2 widget option (seen above) instead of the sole 2×1 size. Finally, the outlet says the leaked software reintroduces the Read Aloud option for Now Brief, which lets you get summaries in audio form. In any event, all these tweaks and additions would be a major upgrade from the initial release back in January. Colleague Joe Maring felt that the original version of Now Brief was a 'glorified weather and news app.' Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ . Samsung Now Brief's next feature is one for the hydro homies
Hadlee Simons / Android Authority TL;DR Samsung could be working on a water-themed info card for its Now Brief feature. This card would likely display your water intake for the day, much like Samsung Health tracks how many glasses of water you've had. This would join a custom card feature as another much-needed addition to Now Brief. Samsung's Now Brief is available on some phones as part of the One UI 7 update. This feature delivers a variety of information cards at certain times of the day, focusing on the weather, your calendar, health, and more. Now, it looks like the company could offer a brand-new card. SammyGuru dug into the Samsung Health app and discovered a 'Water Now brief' feature. Unfortunately, the outlet wasn't able to activate this option. So what could it actually be? Well, Now Brief already integrates Samsung Health features like step counting and burned calories. The Samsung Health app can also be used to track and record how many glasses of water you drank relative to a preset target. So it seems like a safe bet that Now Brief could show your water intake as well. This would be a helpful addition to Now Brief, allowing you to quickly check if you're staying hydrated. This isn't the only feature Samsung could bring to Now Brief. SammyGuru also discovered that Samsung is working on custom info cards, which would allow you to create cards, associate apps with them, and schedule when they pop up in Now Brief. There's no word on if/when these features will actually come to Galaxy phones. But we're guessing Samsung could launch them alongside stable One UI 8, which is expected to arrive next month.
