Sooners react on social media to Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Championship

THUNDER UP! 🏆 @okcthunder The Oklahoma City Thunder are the champions of the NBA. It is the first title in their short history in OKC, and it took a battle in game seven against a feisty Indiana Pacers team. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder in scoring for the win and earned NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. The whole run was incredible, but their performance in the finals solidified them among the greats of the sport. It was a performance that had all of Oklahoma tuned in to see if the team Sam Presti built. Along the way the Thunder had to win a game seven against the Denver Nuggets and two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. They had to beat another rising star in Anthony Edwards. And finally, the Thunder had to overcome a challenge from a Pacers team led by star guard Tyrese Halliburton and a coach in Rick Carlisle, who won an NBA title with the Dallas Mavericks. The Thunder mesmerized the state of Oklahoma, and Sooners legends, coaches, and players took note, reacting on social media to OKC's title win. Social media reacts to Bowe Bentley's commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners' 2026 recruiting class has its quarterback after four-star prospect Bowe Bentley committed to OU on Friday evening. Bentley is one of the ten best quarterbacks in the 2026 cycle and has been a rising star over the last six months. After starring in the Navy All-American Bowl in January, Bentley's recruitment took off, and he received offers from Ohio State, Georgia, Missouri, and more over the last few months. The Celina, Texas native attended the Elite 11 finals and had a standout performance on night two, earning praise from a number of recruiting outlets. The commitment is the first big high school quarterback pledge earned by offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle. Arbuckle offered Bentley less than two months after his arrival to Norman and was able to beat an LSU football program that boasts two Heisman Trophy winners since 2019, a Heisman front runner for 2025, and a strong wide receiver recruiting class. It's a huge win for the Sooners and it's given them a big boost ahead of one of the most important recruiting weekends of the year with the ChampU BBQ happening June 20-22 in Norman. Bentley's commitment had social media buzzing on Friday evening, and here are some of the best reactions to the news. Home Run from Arbuckle Oklahoma got their guy He's Home Let's Goooo!!! Oklahoma Sooners land commitment from 2026-4-Star QB Bowe Bentley

The Oklahoma Sooners and offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle landed their guy at the quarterback position on Friday evening. The Sooners earned a commitment from four-star prospect and one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting class, Bowe Bentley. Bentley chose the Oklahoma Sooners over an offer from the LSU Tigers. He also held offers from prominent programs like Georgia and Ohio State. The Sooners offered Bentley in January after a standout performance at the Navy All-American Bowl, a showing that saw his recruitment take off. The Celina, Texas product combined for 63 total touchdowns in 2024, helping lead his high school team to a 16-0 record and a state championship. He's considered the No. 5 quarterback in the class and the No. 4 prospect in the state of Texas by On3 recruiting. Bentley is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the '26 class, going from a virtual unknown to where he is now in short order. Arbuckle has pursued him heavily since landing the Oklahoma offensive coordinator job. Bentley's pledge to OU wraps up a saga at QB that has stretched on for months. Bentley now slots in as one of the faces of the future in Norman, Oklahoma. He has the potential to add to the great quarterback lineage at OU. He'll now get to follow up his official visit host, John Mateer, and likely Michael Hawkins Jr. under center for Oklahoma. QS World Rankings 2026: IIT-Hyderabad, UoH, Osmania among top 50 Indian institutes; IIIT-Hyderabad, NIT-Warangal miss the list

Three Telangana institutions, IITH, UoH, and OU, have secured positions within the top 50 Indian institutions in the QS World University Rankings 2026. IITH improved its global ranking, while UoH and OU maintained their positions. Three premier institutes from Telangana — Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), University of Hyderabad, and Osmania University — have featured in the top 50 Indian institutions in the QS World University Rankings 2026, released on Thursday. A total of 54 institutes from the country made it to the list this year. Among them, IITH ranked 17th in India, while UoH stood at 28 and OU at 46. Globally, IITH improved its position to 664 from last year's 681–690 band. UoH and OU retained their previous positions in the 801–850 and 1201–1400 brackets, respectively. 'Many rankings, including the QS World, give weightage to perception and Internationalisation -- area where our universities often fall short,' said professor Chandra Shekhar Sharma of IIT. Officials from city-based institutions acknowledged the growing competitiveness. 'We are putting in effort to improve our rankings. This healthy competition is raising education standards. At UoH, we're focusing on research, publications, admissions, and improving perception. We hope to see results in the coming years,' said a senior UoH administrator. Notably, several institutes, including IIIT-Hyderabad, NIT-Warangal and JNTU-Hyderabad failed to make it to the rankings. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like เทรดทองCFDsกับโบรกเกอร์ที่เชื่อถือได้| เปิดบัญชีวันนี้ IC Markets สมัคร Undo Explaining the gap, Telangana State Council of Higher Education chairman V Balakista Reddy said, 'Only one of our state universities made the cut because we lack a strong research culture. We are taking measures to build it. Faculty now have access to international journals, and we're working to secure more national and international research projects. Improvements are underway to help more universities qualify in the future.' The 2026 QS rankings assessed 1,501 universities across 106 countries. Over 19.8 million research papers published between 2019 and 2023, with 200 million citations, were evaluated along with insights from 15 lakh academics and five lakh employers. Institutions were ranked on parameters such as academic reputation, faculty citations, employment outcomes, faculty-student ratio, internationalisation, and sustainability.

Oklahoma Sooners record by decade

Oklahoma Sooners record by decade The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the most iconic blue-blood programs in the history of college football. With seven national championships, 50 conference titles, 58 bowl appearances, seven Heisman Trophy winners, and nearly 1,000 all-time victories, OU is one of the most successful programs the sport has ever seen. Today, we take a closer look at the program, examining its history decade by decade. OU Football began way back in 1895, and has been going strong for 130 years since. The record for the program is 950 wins, 348 losses, and 53 ties, good for a winning percentage of .723. But which decades were the most successful for the Sooners, and which provided leaner years? Oklahoma has also had different conference affiliations over the years. From 1895 to 1914, OU was an Independent. For a brief period of time from 1915 to 1919, the Sooners were in the Southwest Conference, before spending time in the Missouri Valley Conference from 1920 to 1927. Then, the Sooners found their home in the Big Six Conference. That league ran from 1928 to 1947 before it became the Big Seven Conference from 1948 to 1959. It had a long run as the Big Eight Conference from 1960 to 1995 before becoming the Big 12 in 1996. Oklahoma was a member of the same league from 1928 to 2023, specifically the Big 12 Conference from 1996 to 2023. They joined the Southeastern Conference in 2024, and they enter their second year in the league in 2025. We'll walk back through each decade since OU's inception, giving the year-by-year record and the head coaches that led the way in Norman. Here is how the Sooners fared in each decade in the history of Oklahoma Football. The 1890s Head Coaches: John A.
