Oklahoma Sooners land commitment from 2026-4-Star QB Bowe Bentley

USA Today20-06-2025

The Oklahoma Sooners and offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle landed their guy at the quarterback position on Friday evening. The Sooners earned a commitment from four-star prospect and one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting class, Bowe Bentley.
Bentley chose the Oklahoma Sooners over an offer from the LSU Tigers. He also held offers from prominent programs like Georgia and Ohio State. The Sooners offered Bentley in January after a standout performance at the Navy All-American Bowl, a showing that saw his recruitment take off.
The Celina, Texas product combined for 63 total touchdowns in 2024, helping lead his high school team to a 16-0 record and a state championship. He's considered the No. 5 quarterback in the class and the No. 4 prospect in the state of Texas by On3 recruiting.
Bentley is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the '26 class, going from a virtual unknown to where he is now in short order. Arbuckle has pursued him heavily since landing the Oklahoma offensive coordinator job. Bentley's pledge to OU wraps up a saga at QB that has stretched on for months.
Bentley now slots in as one of the faces of the future in Norman, Oklahoma. He has the potential to add to the great quarterback lineage at OU. He'll now get to follow up his official visit host, John Mateer, and likely Michael Hawkins Jr. under center for Oklahoma.

Steelers LS calls Mike Tomlin 'literally ruthless' despite being a player's coach

Many love to criticize Steelers HC Mike Tomlin for being a player's coach — but LS Christian Kuntz believes everyone has the wrong idea. On Thursday's Kaboly + Mack podcast, Kuntz argued that Tomlin is just as 'ruthless' as he is motivational: 'Everything that's said in the public, and the way he acts, is truly the way he acts in the locker room in front of us,' Kuntz said. 'Motivating, you know, he's gonna get it out of you. People call him a player's coach, and yeah, obviously he's a player's coach, 'cause you see how many guys want to come play with him. A player's coach, yes, but he's gonna get on your a--. He is gonna let you know about every single finer detail; he is going to call you out. If you're not doing your job, you're being held accountable.' Recently, Steelers legend James Harrison also weighed in on Tomlin's player's coach mentality — considering it both his best and worst quality. How Tomlin's ruthlessness will mesh with the Aaron Rodgers-led offense remains a mystery — but the Steelers are hopeful this union will finally end their postseason misfortune.
