A body has been found in a lake in Cheshire by officers searching for missing woman Rachel Booth, police said. The mother-of-three, from Barnton near Northwich, was reported missing in the early hours of Saturday. The 38-year-old was last seen at a garage in Sandiway at 3.50am, where she was captured on CCTV going into the store. On Monday afternoon, a spokesman for Cheshire Police said: 'Officers have been searching tirelessly for the 38-year-old since her disappearance. 'Following extensive appeals and searches in the area, officers have now sadly recovered a body in a lake in Oakmere. 'Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of Rachel. Her family have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.' There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner, the spokesman said.

Diving teams have joined the search for a missing woman in Cheshire as police said they are becoming "increasingly concerned" for her welfare. Rachel Booth, 38, from Northwich, was reported missing in the early hours of Saturday, said Cheshire Police. Underwater search teams have joined the hunt for Ms Booth, with police saying she may have travelled to a local beauty spot. What we know Ms Booth was last seen by her family in the Barnton area of Northwich and was reported missing early on Saturday. She was spotted five miles away at about 3.50am on that morning at Sandiway Garage on the A556 road. Police say it is believed Ms Booth may have travelled to the village of Oakmere, near Delamere Forest, where officers, underwater search teams and Cheshire Search and Rescue are currently conducting inquiries. The Wild Shore Delamare water park, less than two miles away from the petrol station, said it was closed on Sunday due to a police investigation in the surrounding area. Ms Booth is described as 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build, with blonde hair and is believed to be wearing black leggings and a black top. Superintendent Paul Hughes said: 'We are currently following a number of inquiries to trace Rachel and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare. 'As part of our investigation, our officers and partner agencies, including the Underwater Search Team and Cheshire Search and Rescue, are conducting inquiries in the Oakmere and surrounding areas where it is believed Rachel travelled to, and we would like to thank local businesses for their patience and understanding while these are currently ongoing. 'Investigators are following all lines of inquiry and anyone who has seen Rachel since she was reported missing is asked to contact us. The same goes for anyone who has any information on her whereabouts. 'We would also like to appeal directly to Rachel to get in touch to let us know you are OK.' The Wild Shore Delamere Park watersports centre said in a statement it is closed 'due to ongoing police investigations in the surrounding area'. The statement said: 'This incident is unrelated to Wild Shore – however we wish to help as much as possible – so we will be closing the site until further notice.' Police have launched an urgent hunt for a missing woman who was last seen wearing exercise gear in the early hours of the morning at a petrol station. CCTV shows Rachel Booth, 38, walking around Sandiway Garage, in the Northwich area of Cheshire, at 3.50am on Saturday July 19. Officers are currently searching a popular Cheshire beauty spot in Oakmere, while water park Wild Shore Delamare has also been shut down. Rachel is described as 5ft 9in tall, of a slim build and with blonde hair. CCTV shows her wearing black leggings and a black top at the time she vanished, with a phone visible on her outer thigh, suggesting she could have been on a run. Wild Shore Delamere said: 'Due to ongoing police investigations in the surrounding area, Wildshore Delamere will remain closed tomorrow, Sunday, July 20th. 'We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 'The incident is unrelated to Wild Shore - however, we wish to help as much as possible - so we will be closing the site until further notice. 'If your booking is affected by this closure, please contact our customer services team. 'We'll be happy to arrange a refund or reschedule your session for a later date. Thank you for your understanding.' Inspector James Wilson, of Cheshire Constabulary, said: 'We are currently conducting a number of enquiries to trace Rachel and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare. 'Anyone who has seen Rachel since she was reported missing is asked to contact us. The same goes for anyone who has any information on her whereabouts.
