ABBA's Self-Titled Album Is A Bestseller Again, 50 Years After Its Release
ABBA's ABBA returns to three U.K. charts following a fiftieth anniversary reissue, including a top ... More 25 placement on the Official Vinyl Albums list. circa 1975: Swedish pop group ABBA (L-R: Benny Andersson, Frida Lyngstad, Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus), wearing similar white Asian-influenced costumes, perform for the television program Midnight Special with a neon 'ABBA' sign in the background. (Photo by) By the time ABBA released its self-titled third full-length in 1975, the Swedish pop band had already found great success in the United Kingdom, but that third set proved to be a game-changer. ABBA helped the group reach new peaks on various rankings across the Atlantic and produced a slew of smash hits, some of which still rank among the outfit's most celebrated. To honor the title's half-century anniversary, ABBA recently re-released the collection on new formats, and it has become a bestselling title once again. ABBA Returns to Multiple U.K. Charts ABBA reappears on three charts in the U.K. this week. This frame marks only its second stay on each and every of them. The studio effort rises highest on the Official Vinyl Albums list, where it returns at No. 22. The set also appears outside the top 40 on both the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Sales rankings, reentering at Nos. 45 and 51, respectively. The album previously debuted on all three charts in the summer of 2022. At that point, it became a top 40 win on the trio of tallies and even managed to start its time on the Official Vinyl Albums list at No. 10. ABBA's New Version Sells Well On June 13, ABBA re-released its namesake album on exciting formats. The full-length was offered as a double LP via a half-speed master, and the group also shared both a box set of the biggest singles from the project as well as picture discs of some of those tunes, including "SOS" and "Mamma Mia." ABBA's Discography Rises Again ABBA sees three different albums appear on the charts in the U.K. this week. As its self-titled project returns to multiple rankings, ABBA – The Singles debuts on two tallies, and Gold – Greatest Hits continues to live on several lists, including the Official Albums chart, where it has now spent more than 1,200 frames.

Eric Clapton's Grammy-Winning Album Reaches A New Chart Peak
Eric Clapton's Unplugged returns to two U.K. album charts, nearly cracking the top 40 thanks to a ... More new physical re-release and renewed attention in 2025. British Rock and Blues musician Eric Clapton plays guitar as he performs onstage at the Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 5, 1992. (Photo by) Unplugged stands out among Eric Clapton's many albums as one of his most critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects. The live set was recorded in front of a small audience as part of MTV's Unplugged series. While Clapton was already a superstar at the time and big things were expected, few could have predicted just how massive the title would become. Decades later, it remains an incredibly important and meaningful effort for both the musician and his fan — and this week, it becomes a bestseller once again. Unplugged returns to a pair of rankings in the U.K. this frame, and it nearly reenters the top 40 on both lists, missing that special region by just a few spots. This time around, the title lands highest on the Official Physical Albums chart, where it comes in at No. 41. At the same time, it reappears at No. 46 on the Official Albums Sales roster, the general list of the bestselling titles in the country. Clapton's Unplugged reaches a new all-time high on the latter tally – but not the physical-only list – as it returns. It has been almost half a decade since Unplugged was seen on either of these two rosters. The set last appeared on both rankings in June 2020 and has been missing ever since. At the time, Unplugged debuted on the Official Albums Sales chart, and it has now spent just two frames somewhere on the list. The collection has performed much better — and for much longer — on the Official Physical Albums chart. Unplugged launched on that ranking in early 1994 and has now spent 35 frames as one of the top-selling titles on any physical format in the U.K. Unplugged is mounting its comeback thanks to a newly-released enhanced edition, as fans have been purchasing the full-length as a triple LP and a double CD. The project has been the focus of renewed attention all year, as the MTV performance was re-released to cinemas in select countries earlier in 2025. That film also made its way to Paramount+. All the excitement surrounding the Grammy-winning effort — along with the physical re-release — appears to have been enough to push the title back into bestseller status.

Five Taylor Swift Albums Rock Back Onto The Same Charts At The Same Time
Taylor Swift is one of the bestselling – and most consistently-bestselling – artists in the music industry. Not only can she move massive numbers of albums and songs when they're new and properly promoted, but she also maintains impressive longevity, especially when it comes to pure purchases, which typically drop off fairly quickly for most releases. Her full-lengths continue to sell months, even years, after their initial release. Fans can't seem to buy enough copies of her most famous works, especially on CD and vinyl – formats she has helped revive. This week in the U.K., five of Swift's albums return to the sales charts. For most artists, that would mark a career high. For her, it's just another frame, one which yet again highlights her ability to sell, sell, sell. Five of her full-lengths reappear on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums chart, and she's back in charge of them as well. The biggest winner this week among Swift's catalog is The Tortured Poets Department. The collection doesn't just bounce back onto the sales tallies, it also returns to the No. 1 spot in the U.K., once again becoming the bestselling album in the nation. It manages to do so as it marks 52 weeks (a full year) on both rosters. 1989 (Taylor's Version) appears lower on the list, landing in the seventies on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts. Meanwhile, three other titles — Folklore, Lover, and Midnights — also return to the two rankings, rounding out Swift's impressive quintet of returning bestsellers. The Tortured Poets Department benefits from a massive uptick in sales, spurred by the album's birthday and the release of signed CDs. The title rockets from No. 24 to No. 1 on the Official Albums chart, which tracks the most consumed collections in the U.K. It also reappears on the Official Album Downloads chart at No. 82. While not related to purchases, the project lifts several positions on the Official Albums Streaming tally as well, rising back into the top 20 to land at No. 18. Many of Swift's efforts — including all five returning sales titles, as well as Reputation — also appear on the Official Albums chart and the Official Albums Streaming rankings this week. Two other full-lengths, Fearless (Taylor's Version) and her self-titled debut, which helped launch her to stardom so many years ago, also find space on the Official Country Artists Albums roster.

Olivia Rodrigo's Only Two Albums Are Both Bestsellers Again
Olivia Rodrigo's Sour and Guts return to four U.K. charts each, with both albums climbing amid ... More post–Record Store Day reshuffling. NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - SEPTEMBER 12: Olivia Rodrigo performs onstage during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards at Prudential Center on September 12, 2023 in Newark, New Jersey. (Photo byfor MTV) A number of superstar musicians return to the charts in both the United Kingdom and United States this week, thanks in large part to the end of Record Store Day. The annual event sees many well-known and exciting indie acts drop special releases, prompting fans around the world to rush into local music shops to snap up limited-edition offerings. Due to their exclusivity and scarcity, many Record Store Day titles sell out immediately. As a result, they often appear on rankings for just one frame before vanishing, making room once again for regular performers. That's the case this time around, and Olivia Rodrigo emerges as one of the biggest gainers on the U.K. rankings due to this shift. Both of the young singer's full-lengths usually appear on charts in most Western markets, as they continue to perform incredibly well even years after their release. This week, Sour and Guts are both present on four different U.K. rankings. In every instance, the titles are among the bestsellers and even climb onto the most important lists. Guts is the better seller of the two, which makes sense, as it's newer. It reenters the Official Physical Albums chart at No. 38, becoming a top 40 bestseller once again on formats like CD and vinyl. It narrowly misses that same region on the Official Albums Sales tally, where it returns at No. 41. Sour isn't far behind its successor on either tally. It's back on the Official Physical Albums chart at No. 48 and rebounds to No. 54 on the Official Albums Sales list. Amazingly, Sour and Guts sit side-by-side on the other two tallies on which they appear in the U.K. Both are living inside the top 40 on the Official Albums Streaming chart and the Official Albums roster, which is the nation's general consumption list. In each case, Rodrigo's collections land one right after the other, with Guts narrowly pulling ahead by just one space. In the past, both Sour and Guts have hit No. 1 on the charts they appear on. They've become bestselling titles, incredibly strong streamers, and among the most popular albums in the country for years at a time. Sour is the longer-charting of the two, having recently passed 200 frames on multiple rosters. It hasn't yet hit that milestone on the two sales-based tallies, but it's likely to do so in the coming months. Guts hasn't yet had a chance to crack triple-digit frames on any ranking, but that's not due to a lack of interest. Considering how well it's still performing more than 80 weeks after release, it seems destined to reach that achievement once enough time has passed.

Doechii Hits No. 1 For The First Time On Several Charts
Doechii's Alligator Bites Never Heal returns to five charts in the U.K., reaching No. 1 for the ... More first time on two of them. ATLANTA, GEORGIA - APRIL 24: Doechii performs onstage during the Uber and Delta SkyMiles partnership celebration at The Eastern on April 24, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo byfor Uber and Delta) Doechii just keeps getting bigger, seemingly by the day, and Alligator Bites Never Heal is growing by leaps and bounds on the charts. The rising hip-hop superstar's mixtape, which dropped in August 2024, has only picked up steam since its release. Months after winning the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, the project is still reaching new heights, and this frame, it surges back onto several U.K. rankings – even leading the charge on several rosters. Alligator Bites Never Heal appears on five U.K. music charts. It didn't land on any of them just a few days ago, though it's also not new to any of the lists. Doechii doesn't just reclaim space on these tallies — she manages a new career best on every single one where her breakout effort can now be found. Among the five tallies where Alligator Bites Never Heal reappears, two stand out above the rest. This week, the mixtape hits No. 1 on both the Official Vinyl Albums and the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums charts. These wins mark Doechii's first-ever No. 1 placements on albums rosters in the U.K. As if two No. 1s weren't enough, Doechii also earns a pair of top 10 appearances on other tallies. Alligator Bites Never Heal reenters the Official Physical Albums chart at No. 4. Meanwhile, it settles at No. 5 on the Official Albums Sales roster. Both placements are new personal bests for the rapper. Over on the U.K.'s most competitive album ranking, the Official Albums chart, which blends sales and streaming data, Alligator Bites Never Heal also scores a major new win. The Grammy-winning mixtape reenters at No. 40, and this week marks the first time it's cracked the top 40. While Alligator Bites Never Heal continues climbing, the set's big single "Denial Is a River' remains on four U.K. charts, helping keep attention focused on the Grammy winner's current era. However, it's an older tune — "Anxiety" — that's managing an even bigger resurgence. Originally released as a standalone single years ago, "Anxiety" recently went viral, and a brand new music video Doechii dropped to capitalize on its newfound popularity is helping it continue to soar. The Gotye-sampling track is truly thriving in the U.K., appearing on five separate tallies this frame. It even debuts on one and sits comfortably inside the top 10 on four others.
