Warren Buffett donates whopping $6 billion Berkshire shares! Highest charity by billionaire in nearly 2 decades; total crosses $60 billion

Warren Buffett, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway (Image credits: AP) Billionaire investor Warren Buffett donated $6 billion worth of Berkshire Hathaway stock on Friday to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and four family-run charities. This marks his largest annual donation since he began giving away his fortune in 2006. The donation included about 12.36 million Class B shares of Berkshire Hathaway. Of that, 9.43 million shares went to the Gates Foundation, while 9,43,384 shares were donated to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation. Three other foundations, led by Buffett's children Howard, Susie, and Peter, each received 660,366 shares. These are the Howard G Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation, and the NoVo Foundation. With this latest donation, Buffett's total charitable giving has now exceeded $60 billion. Despite the large gift, he still owns 13.8% of Berkshire's stock, as per Reuters. Buffet's net worth and previous donations: Before Friday's donation, Buffett's net worth was estimated at $152 billion, making him the fifth-richest person in the world, according to Forbes. Following the donation, he is expected to rank sixth. This gift surpasses the $5.3 billion he gave away in June last year, and the $1.14 billion he donated to family charities in November. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 2025 Top Trending Local Enterprise Accounting Software [Click Here] Accounting ERP Click Here Undo In a statement, Buffett reaffirmed that he does not plan to sell any Berkshire shares. JPMorgan for now isn't buying that Bill Ackman can create the next Berkshire Hathaway

JPMorgan isn't convinced that Bill Ackman's vision to transform real estate developer Howard Hughes Holdings into a "modern-day" Berkshire Hathaway will soon prove fruitful. The Wall Street investment bank downgraded its rating on Howard Hughes to neutral from overweight Monday after Ackman's Pershing Square struck a deal in May to boost its holding to nearly 47% through a new investment of $900 million. "Pershing Square and Bill Ackman's intention is to use the cash infusion into the company to make investments outside real estate (perhaps into insurance) and turn HHH into a diversified holding company," JPMorgan analysts led by Anthony Paolone said. "As a result, we don't think the thesis of strong real estate performance narrowing the [net asset value] gap and/or the company taking actions to narrow the NAV gap (i.e., buybacks, go-privates, asset sales, etc.) is as prevalent as it was prior." Ackman intends to turn Howard Hughes from a real estate company with master-planned communities into a company with controlling stakes in other public and private businesses, much like Warren Buffett's Berkshire. Ackman previously said it is "highly likely" that he will build or buy an insurance company for Howard Hughes, which would mirror the history of the Omaha-based conglomerate, which owns auto insurer Geico and other insurance and reinsurance businesses. HHH YTD mountain Howard Hughes shares in 2025. JPMorgan believes the direction of the stock will increasingly depend on the potential new investments Ackman makes for Howard Hughes, which creates an uncertain outlook. "The restructuring of the company and shift in control to Pershing Square and Bill Ackman changes the focus to being a diversified holding company," JPMorgan said. "We think the stock and thesis will depend more on what these new investments are precisely." As part of its call, the bank also lowered its year-end price target on Howard Hughes by more than 7%, to $76 per share from $82 per share. The new target is still 14% higher than Monday's close at $66.75. Howard Hughes, based outside Houston, has fallen more than 13% so far in 2025, on track to decline for the third year in four.

Top Omaha Drug Lawyer Spotlights Alarming Warrantless Surveillance On I-80 After Drug Possession Bust

Omaha, NE Criminal Defense Lawyer Exposes Dangerous Warrantless Surveillance On I-80 Revealed After 30-Pound Carfentanil Drug Bust 'If a cop can run your plate through a national network and see your movements without a warrant, that's a dangerous precedent. It doesn't just affect suspected drug traffickers. It affects everyone.'— Criminal Defense Attorney Daniel Stockmann OMAHA, NE, UNITED STATES, June 16, 2025 / / -- After the recent seizure in Omaha, NE of 30 pounds of carfentanil, a synthetic opioid estimated to be 100 times stronger than fentanyl, Omaha-based drug charges lawyer, Daniel Stockmann, is sounding the alarm about the basis on which this arrest may have been made. While officials are touting the bust as a major success, Stockmann is urging the public to pay closer attention to the surveillance technologies being used behind the scenes by law enforcement. As reported by KETV NewsWatch 7 on May 21, 2025, Nebraska State Patrol officers, along with local and federal partners, stopped a vehicle near Seward, NE and uncovered the unprecedented carfentanil stash during what they claimed was a routine traffic stop. Authorities said the amount of the confiscated drug could potentially harm millions of people. Top Omaha, NE, interstate drug trafficking lawyer Daniel Stockmann, argues that the benefits of such a drug possession bust do not outweigh the growing threat of law enforcement's pervasive and rapidly-expanding omnipotence through the use of new technological advancements. Instead, he's raising alarms over potential Constitutional rights infringements leading to such arrests, particularly regarding the increasing use of Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs). These scanners quietly track vehicles' movements, compiling massive amounts of data, often without a warrant and with little public scrutiny. 'ALPRs make everyone a suspect by default,' Stockmann said. 'They collect where you go in your car, when you go, and how often. That's continual public surveillance without consent - and without judicial oversight.' The concern is growing nationwide. A recent investigation by 404 Media uncovered that a law enforcement official utilized a nationwide license plate scanner network to track a woman's vehicle as she crossed state lines while seeking medical treatment. While that case dealt with a controversial medical procedure, Stockmann stresses that the implications of the incident are much more dire. 'This Automated License Plate Readers technology is being framed as a tool for crime prevention, but in practice, it's enabling widespread government surveillance which could then be used to initiate unlawful drug arrests on I-80,' he said. He added that these tools are being quietly integrated into drug interdiction efforts along key corridors like Interstate 80, often without drivers knowing their data is being collected, or how it might be used. 'If a cop can run your plate through a national network and see your movements without a warrant, that's a dangerous precedent,' Stockmann warned. 'It doesn't just affect suspected drug traffickers. It affects everyone.' These concerns are not new for well-known Omaha drug defense attorney Stockmann. For years, he has urged a closer look at how traffic stops are conducted along I-80. He's pointed to patterns that suggest out-of-state drivers are being targeted, particularly near areas like Lincoln and Seward. Stockmann has spent over 15 years challenging drug-related traffic stops on I-80 and has long maintained that out-of-state drivers and minority motorists are disproportionately targeted. He previously issued statements highlighting racial profiling and vague reasons for initiating vehicle searches. 'This isn't just about one drug bust. It's about the bigger picture; where we're heading as a society if we don't draw a clear line between legitimate law enforcement and unconstitutional overreach,' Stockmann said. 'Constitutional rights still matter, even on the highway.'
