The many lives of Joey Essex as star makes pro boxing debut
Reality star Joey Essex is set to make his professional boxing debut, and it's left us wondering: Is there anything this fella hasn't thrown himself into? The 34-year-old rose to fame following his stint on The Only Way Is Essex, and then participated in a realm of other reality shows, but has also been a panelist on some other shows. Joey has tried his hand at entrepreneurship, launching his own hair products, opened his own shop, launched his own clothes line — and has released two fragrances. Ahead of Joey's pro-boxing debut, we thought we'd take a look at the many lives of Joey Essex. Pic: ITV/REX/Shutterstock Joey first arrived onto our TV screens in 2011 when he appeared on The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) alongside cousin, Chloe Sims, before he was then promoted to a main cast member. During his time on TOWIE, he also compete in Splash! and following his departure from TOWIE headed into the jungle where he competed in I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Other notable credits to Joey's reality show list include Celebs Go Dating; Celebrity on the Beach; Dancing on Ice and the Aussie version of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. Joey Essex. Pic: ITV Before Joey left the TOWIE cast, he was took part the recording and release of a single, REEM, which was a word coined by Essex himself often used when he was saying something was cool. There's much more to Joey than a couple of reality shows and a song, though! In 2013, the star released his own hair products range, Joey Essex: D'Reem Hair, quickly followed by a fashion boutique in Essex called Fusey in the same year. In the same year, Joey released two fragrances — Fusey for men, and My Girl for women, both of which got good reviews at the time. In 2016, Fusey clothes their doors for the final time, but the star was set to release a new clothing line the following year. Pic: ITV Last year, Love Island fans were left divided when Joey entered the villa as a bomb shell in the hopes of finding love — or maybe he was in it for the money, we'll never know! There was fury from some fans who argued the show was for non-celebs or so-called 'normal people' though others were more in agreement with the recent shake-up, which followed the shock return of Adam Collard which happened two years previous. Joey reconnected with model Grace Jackson, who he had been previously linked to. He later coupled up with Jessy Potts, though their romance came to an end following their departure from the show. The bout will take place on the Ring of Thrones fight night which is being held at the AO Arena, Manchester on August 30. Announcing his debut, Joey said: 'Well it's time for me to step in the ring and show you all what I'm really about for the first time ever. 'What are you saying?'

Lucy Mecklenburgh takes swipe at mum-shamers as she defends parenting approach
TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, who has two children with former Coronation Street cast member Ryan Thomas, has defended herself following a question about her parenting Reality TV star Lucy Mecklenburgh has opened up about her approach to parenting following a "negative" question on social media about her family's lifestyle. She said that it is "really important" to the speak out about the situation. Lucy, 33, has two children with her fiancé Ryan Thomas, 41. The couple are parents to kids Roman, five, and Lilah, three, together. Through the relationship, she is also a step-parent to Scarlett Thomas, 16, who is former Coronation Street actor Ryan's daughter from a previous relationship. Former the Only Way is Essex star Lucy often posts about her life on Instagram. It includes keeping fans updated on holidays and her going away, with her having occasionally posted on the platform about taking trips without her kids. Lucy was faced with a question about her lifestyle in a Q&A on Instagram yesterday. After inviting her followers to submit questions, she revealed that one submission asked about her having previously gone away with Roman and Lilah. The question read: "Why do you always leave your kids and go away?" Lucy responded in a post that included a photo of herself and her partner Ryan sat in a restaurant, which is thoughts to have been taken on a holiday together. Addressing the question, Lucy wrote in her response: "I know this was meant as a negative message but actually I think it's really important to talk about. I adore my kids so much and as much as [I] get mum guilt every time I leave them I think it's so healthy for a relationship to have a date night or short break away with your partner or friends." She went on to add that she also travels away for work. Lucy wrote: "I also do have to go away a lot to London or abroad to my retreats but that's my work and actually I absolutely love what I do & love that my kids see me enjoying my job." Lucy co-founded the brand RWL, which hosts wellness and fitness retreats, including in Portugal. Earlier this month, she posted about having been away at a retreat in the UK, with her writing: "My favourite kind of weekend away." She told her followers in a video message: "Oh my god, I cannot believe this weekend has come around so quickly. So the last time I was here was October and it was one of the best weekends of my life, so I just had to do it again." Lucy said it included walks in the countryside, "delicious" food that is cooked for the guests, a variety of workouts, hot tub use and being surrounded by "like-minded women". She added: "This is the ultimate girls weekend away." Lucy had previously posted about needing some time away. Last month, said over footage from a retreat: "I need a break and we shouldn't feel guilty for feeling like this because when I get time to myself doing something that I love that is looking after my wellbeing, I am definitely a better mum and better at my job." Days earlier Lucy had revealed to fans that she had enjoyed a family holiday abroad recently too though. Lucy had gone on a Royal Caribbean Cruise with Ryan, their two kids and her stepdaughter Scarlett in April. The trip included stops in Miami, St. Kitts and the Bahamas. She wrote in a post about the holiday that she hadn't ever planned to go on a cruise but was already looking forward to another with her family in the future. She wrote: "Honestly, cruising with kids? Game. Changer. Non-stop fun, dreamy destinations every day, amazing food (still thinking about it), and the kids' clubs? Unreal." After sharing the itinerary, she told fans: "Would I do it again? In a heartbeat."

Jacqueline Jossa celebrates anniversary with Dan Osborne after marriage woes
EastEnders cast member Jacqueline Jossa and former TOWIE star Dan Osborne celebrated their wedding anniversary this week after having got married eight years today Soap star Jacqueline Jossa celebrated her wedding anniversary with her husband Dan Osborne at a five-star hotel in London this week. The EastEnders cast member shared a series of photos from the special occasion. Jacqueline, 32, and reality TV star Dan, 33, got married back in 2017, with their eighth wedding anniversary having been today. It comes after it was announced in March that they had split up, with them said to have been working on their relationship since then. Fans have been given an insight into their celebrations on Instagram this week. Jacqueline shared a series of photos on the platform from an apparent night away with Dan, having stayed in a suite at the hotel Pan Pacific London. She wrote in a round-up post: "24 hours in London Town." One photo showed Dan looking out over the city from their room as the sun set in the background. Jacqueline wrote in the caption: "Happy 8th wedding anniversary." She included a teary-eyed emoji and another of hands in a heart shape. Others showcased a bouquet, which included roses, that she had seemingly received for their anniversary. Jacqueline held up the flowers in one photo, whilst another showed the bunch on a table alongside a personalised bottle. The bottle appeared to feature a photo of Jacqueline and former the Only Way is Essex star Dan enclosed in a heart shape. The personalised label featured red hearts and a message on the front of it read: "Cheers to you beautiful". One photo showed Jacqueline posing beside the bouquet in a selfie. Above a mirror behind her was a sign about the family, which referenced them and their children, including Dan's son Teddy. It read: "Daniel [heart] Jacqueline. Teddy, Ella & Mia. When we have each other, we have everything." Jacqueline also shared a photo today of herself holding a cup of coffee in the suite. She wrote: "Perfect morning." She also gave her followers glimpses at the inside of the room in other photos that she shared on the platform. Whilst another photo showed her view inside a bar in the city. Dan shared one of the photos that Jacqueline posted, which showed her holding the bouquet, on his own page. He marked the special occasion in his caption, writing in a message to his wife: "Happy Anniversary [Jacqueline]." Their anniversary comes just months on from the news in March that Jacqueline and Dan had parted ways, following speculation about the prospect. It was reported at the time that Dan had moved out of the home they shared. A statement about their separation stated that their two children Ella, ten, and Mia, six, remain their "top priority". It read: "[They] are handling things privately, choosing to keep their lives and relationship out of the public eye. They kindly ask for respect and privacy as they navigate this together. "Their children remain their top priority, surrounded by love and care from both parents - something that will never change. Above all, Jacqueline and Dan have each other's and their children's best interests at heart. There will be no further comment." There was later speculation that Jacqueline was trying to "save" the marriage and weeks after the news of the split, they were said to have enjoyed a "make or break" holiday with their family in a bid to rekindle their relationship. A source told the Mirror at the time Jacqueline and Dan were "trying to fall back in love with each other again". They said: "They've had a rocky, up and down relationship so now they're trying to do things differently and give each other more space at home, while enjoying this holiday." The source added: "Jacqueline and Dan want to be together for their children and do want to be a family, but now it's a case of remembering why they were together in the first place. It's been a tough road and they know things need to change to make this work."

Tom Fletcher apologises for 'insensitive' post after fatal Air India crash
Tom Fletcher has apologised for a post he made in the wake of the fatal Air India plane crash this week. All but one of the 242 people on board the London-bound flight died when it crashed in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off on Thursday (June 12). The sole survivor, British national Vishwashkumar Ramesh, is recovering in hospital with his brother saying he 'has no idea how he survived'. It is not yet known how many people on the ground were killed. The McFly frontman, 39, took to Instagram stories to apologise for a prior post in which he referred to flying a plane himself, as he has a pilot's licence. Follow Metro's blog for live coverage and updates from the Air India crash Fletcher went on to describe the initial post as 'insensitive' and said he had deleted it, explaining he had been late to seeing the news of the Air India flight. Fletcher wrote: 'Sorry, I've only just seen the terrible news about the Air India crash. 'So awful. Had I known earlier, I obviously wouldn't have posted about my flight today,'he added. Fletcher had written about flying a plane while listening to the Foo Fighters song Learn to Fly. Fletcher continued: 'I understand why that must have looked insensitive and have deleted it. Thanks for letting me know. 'My whole heart goes out to everyone involved in the crash and all their friends & families.' Fletcher has previously said if he had not become a musician, he would have been a pilot, after got his licence back in 2008 when he was just 23-years-old. Fletcher is not the only star who has apologised for a mistimed Instagram post after the Air India crash, as Mark Wright did the same following a scheduled Instagram post. Mark, 38, posted a picture of himself with his wife Michelle Keegan and their daughter posing in front of a private jet. Writing beneath it, Mark said: '1 day babe, for now we'll take row 26 with no extra leg room,' as he complained about standard planes. He then explained in a story: 'I apologise for a post I just put up on my page after today's heartbreaking events. 'I have posts from a holiday that are on the scheduled setting, which go out on future days I have set them for which was done last week. It's a horrendous coincidence that today's post was on such a devastating day. 'Once I logged in to my Instagram and realised the post had gone out, I immediately deleted. Mark Wright has apologised for a 'poor taste' post about planes after at least 260 people were killed in a deadly plane crash today. The Air India flight to Gatwick, which was carrying 242 passengers, including 53 British nationals, crashed just moments after take off in the northwestern Indian state of Gujarat. On the same day, Mark, 38, posted a picture of himself with his wife Michelle Keegan and their daughter posing in front of a private jet. Writing beneath it, Mark said: '1 day babe, for now we'll take row 26 with no extra leg room,' as he complained about standard planes. Underneath the original post several followers claimed it was 'not appropriate', with one writing: 'Prob not the best day to post this when so many people lost their lives on a plane,' the MailOnline reported. Moments later, the former Only Way is Essex reality star removed the post from his page. He then explained in a story: 'I apologise for a post I just put up on my page after today's heartbreaking events.
