Bahrain-UK prisons programme cooperation
The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing received Political Adviser and former Member of the UK Parliament, Rehman Chishti, at the Open Prisons facility. During the meeting, the Director-General welcomed the delegation and highlighted Bahrain's ongoing efforts to develop the Open Prisons Programme in line with the highest international standards. He also outlined key practices related to the implementation of alternative sentencing and its positive impact on the criminal justice system. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in this field.

General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement Concludes Ramadan Iftar Campaign

As part of the initiative, 45 beneficiaries of the Open Prisons Programme participated in distributing 1,200 meals across various areas in Bahrain. Ramadan Iftar campaign successful

Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa Honours Winners of Third Ramadhan Football, Padel Championship
Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, honoured the winning teams of the third Ramadhan football and padel championship. The event was organised by the directorate at Gravity courts and featured participation from employees, beneficiaries of the Alternative Sentencing Programme, and the Open Prisons Programme. According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid emphasised that the championship aligns with the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior. The initiative aims to support the gradual reintegration of beneficiaries of the Alternative Sentencing and Open Prisons Programmes into society. He underscored the significance of this initiative in enhancing community security and extended his wishes for success to all participants.
