Advisor to anti-India Yunus caught with AK-47 rifle magazine at Dhaka airport on way to Istanbul, security let him go due to..., handbag was...
New Delhi: An AK-47 rifle magazine has been found in the bag of Asif Mahmud, the young face of the interim government of Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh. The magazine was found inside Dhaka airport in the luggage of Asif, the advisor (minister) of the Rural Development and Cooperative Department in the Yunus government. What happened at Dhaka airport? This shocking incident happened when he was going to Morocco to attend the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) as a representative of Bangladesh. When Asif went to the airport to take a flight, the magazine was found in his bag during the check. Asif is among those young leaders who played an important role in overthrowing the government of Sheikh Hasina by leading the students last year. According to the report of Northeast News, Asif Mahmud was going through the Identity and Security Check (INS) at the airport. During this, the scanning machine indicated suspicious items in his handbag. On this, the security personnel took Asif Mahmud's bag and checked it and found an AK-47 rifle magazine inside it. The airport management and security agencies are silent on this matter and the Yunus government is also trying to cover it up. Why was Asif not questioned? Despite finding the magazine, Bangladeshi security officials allowed Asif Mahmud to take a flight to Turkey. Asif Mahmud first went to Istanbul for the OIC meeting and from there to Marrakech, Morocco. The report claims that Asif Mahmud's handbag was not passed through the mandatory check and security process at the time of entry into the airport. In such a situation, the magazine was found in his bag just before taking the flight. Bangladeshi security agency sources have said that Asif Mahmud could not give a satisfactory answer to the officers regarding the question related to finding an AK-47 magazine in his bag. Asif made a weak excuse that he forgot to remove the magazine from the bag while packing. In such a situation, he expresses regret over it. The security officials accepted this and let him go. He was not questioned in detail about the magazine being found. Yunus government maintains silence Bangladesh interim government head Mohammad Yunus and Home Ministry advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury have maintained silence on this issue. There has been no statement from the government on such a big incident as the discovery of an AK-47 magazine inside Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport with an important government figure. There are many discussions in the political corridors of Dhaka about why a government advisor has kept weapons like AK-47 with him.
