ISCC PLUS certified manufacturing and supply chain Aptar Pharma is committed to helping its customers meet their sustainability goals, such as reducing the use of fossil-based materials in packaging. The Freepod® nasal spray components are made from bio-based resins derived from renewable feedstocks like bio-waste and residual oils, using an ISCC PLUS-certified mass balance approach. The Aptar Pharma manufacturing site in Mezzovico, Switzerland, is ISCC PLUS certified, ensuring full traceability of materials throughout the manufacturing process and supply chain. This collaboration has led to significant achievements, including the Otrivin® Freepod® winning the World Packaging Award in 2019 for its innovative and sustainable design. The use of bio-based or renewable feedstocks for the Otrivin® products with Freepod® technology supports Haleon's goal to reduce virgin petroleum-based plastic use by 10% by 2025** and by a third by 2030, compared to 2022 levels. Aptar Pharma's Freepod® for Otrivin®, available globally, demonstrates Aptar's commitment to sustainability and innovation. Looking ahead, this collaboration is anticipated to extend to Otrivin Nasal Mist, Haleon's latest microdroplet technology, which is being rolled out globally since 2023. Haleon captures over 20% market share in Egypt, locally manufactures 90% of product portfolio
Haleon, the global consumer health leader, has reinforced its footprint in Egypt following its demerger from GSK in July 2022. The company now holds over 20% of Egypt's consumer health market and manufactures approximately 90% of its flagship brands locally, according to Asif Alavi, General Manager for North Africa at Haleon. Speaking to Daily News Egypt, Alavi said that local production covers trusted household names such as Sensodyne, Parodontax, Panadol, Otrivin, and Voltaren Emulgel, underscoring Haleon's commitment to supply chain resilience and economic contribution through technology transfer and export capabilities. Egypt serves as a key regional base for exports to the Maghreb, Gulf countries, and Saudi Arabia. Alavi emphasized that local manufacturing has helped shield the company from global economic volatility, including inflation, currency fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions. 'Our strategy has significantly minimized exposure to global shocks, enabling us to maintain stability and accessibility in the Egyptian market,' he noted. Globally, Haleon is advancing its innovation pipeline, including a £130m investment in a new Global Oral Health Innovation Centre in Weybridge, UK, slated to open in 2027. The facility will support Haleon's category leadership in oral health and accelerate R&D for key brands like Sensodyne, which Alavi described as resilient due to its therapeutic value and strong dentist recommendations—even during economic downturns. Recognizing the price sensitivity in emerging markets, Haleon has adopted a multi-format, tiered pricing strategy to ensure broad accessibility. The company also champions self-care as a cornerstone of sustainable healthcare. Alavi cited research by the Global Self-Care Federation, which estimates self-care interventions have already delivered $119bn in global healthcare cost savings and $1.9trn in welfare gains—figures projected to rise to $179bn and $2.8trn, respectively. Looking ahead, Alavi reaffirmed Haleon's long-term vision in Egypt: 'We are committed to being a core contributor to the Egyptian healthcare ecosystem—by making everyday health more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable.'

Haleon first-quarter organic revenue growth beats estimates
April 30 (Reuters) - British consumer healthcare group Haleon's (HLN.L), opens new tab first-quarter organic revenue growth beat expectations on Wednesday as strong growth in oral health products offset weakness in respiratory health and digestive health products. Organic revenue for the three months ending March 31 grew 3.5%, and analysts were expecting a growth of 3.2%, according to a company-compiled consensus. Keep up with the latest medical breakthroughs and healthcare trends with the Reuters Health Rounds newsletter. Sign up here. Growing demand for Haleon's oral hygiene products, which includes Sensodyne and Parodontax, helped cushion the impact of lower revenue from its respiratory health and digestive health portfolio that include products like Otrivin and ENO. Haleon reaffirmed its 2025 guidance and said it continues to expect the macroeconomic environment to remain "challenging and uncertain".

Uber Driver Turns Car Into ‘1 BHK', Internet Applauds His Hospitality
Last Updated: One of the most notable features of this cab ride was that it came with a Wi-Fi connection. The driver attached a board explaining that Wi-Fi was available inside the car for free. The internet is full of stories about cab ride experiences, ranging from safety concerns and scams to hilarious anecdotes and even viral videos. These stories often highlight the difficulties encountered by passengers, the different behaviours of drivers and the significance of safety precautions. But recently, a woman's cab ride turned out to be one of her best commuting experiences as it felt like travelling in a '1 BHK.' Taking to X, a woman dropped a couple of inside pictures from her cab, booked on Uber, which came so well-equipped, she compared it to living in a one-bedroom apartment. 'Literally travelling in a 1bhk today. Hands down the coolest Uber ride ever," she wrote in the caption. The snapshots highlighted a well-organised structure inside a car with shelves and holders mounted to the backs of the front seats. The driver had loaded the vehicle with a variety of cold drinks, water bottles, snacks such as chips, toys, basic medicines and even a trashcan, providing passengers with a homelike experience during their ride. Notably, the driver had also put some medicines like Digene, Disprin, Citrizine, Dolo 650 and Otrivin for motion sickness or other emergencies. Another section was set aside for tissues, umbrellas, and even a packet of ready-to-eat munchies. Another picture showcased a donation box attached to the car's roof for children's education. Also, it had several facilities like shoe polish, hair oil, cream and a portable fan. One of the most notable features of this cab ride was that it came with a Wi-Fi connection. Yes! You read that right. The driver attached a board explaining that Wi-Fi was available inside the car for free. The password was written clearly for passengers, adding another layer of hospitality to the ride. Abdul Qadeer, the Uber driver, had also left a feedback log requesting passengers to share their experiences in the book and on the Uber app. Above the driver's seat, a newspaper piece showcasing Abdul's work as an exceptional Uber driver was prominently displayed.
