Shailesh Jejurikar named P&G president & CEO; first Indian to hold job

Shailesh Jejurikar will be Procter & Gamble's (P&G) president and chief executive officer (CEO), becoming the first Indian to lead the consumer goods conglomerate effective January 1. Jejurikar, 58, who joined the company in 1989, will replace Jon Moeller, according to a statement. Moeller, who was named to the top job about four years ago, will become P&G's executive chairman, said the company in a statement. The company has nominated Jejurikar to stand for election as a director at the annual shareholder meeting in October. Jejurikar is set to become the first Indian to lead P&G in its 187-year history, it said. 'I am honored to serve as P&G's CEO,' said Jejurikar in the statement. 'P&G people, our brands, and our capabilities in innovation and operational excellence fuel my confidence for a future of sustained growth and value creation.' The statement added that he has a distinguished track record throughout his 36-year P&G career and has been an integral part of the leadership team for the past 12 years. 'Throughout his career, Shailesh has continued to have ties with P&G India – be it his role as the chief executive of global fabric and home care, P&G's largest business, or in his most recent role as COO where he was responsible for P&G's Global Enterprise Markets, which includes P&L responsibility for many markets around the world, including India.' Jejurikar is currently the company's chief operating officer and has a profit/loss responsibility for P&G's Enterprise Markets (Latin America, India, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe). He leads information technology, global business services, sales, market operations, purchasing, manufacturing, distribution and new business. Jejurikar's P&G career has spanned multiple businesses (health & beauty care, home care, fabric care and P&G Professional) in both developed and developing regions (North America, Europe, Asia and Africa). He is known for his ability to identify growth possibilities by meeting the needs of consumers in new, better, and more complete ways,' the company said in a note on him. Jejurikar has consistently delivered strong business results in all markets and businesses, it said. He was earlier the CEO of P&G's largest business, fabric and home care, which includes many of its brands like Tide, Ariel, Downy, Gain, Febreze, Swiffer and comprises about one-third of total company sales and net earnings. 'From 2016 to 2021, Shailesh served as executive sponsor for global sustainability, ensuring full integration of P&G's sustainability goals into the day-to-day business to enable — and to inspire — positive impact on the environment and society while creating value for the company, consumers and shareholders,' it said in its note.

Gillette's legacy, Hrithik's vision: The new era of men's grooming begins

For over a century, Gillette has been more than just a brand; it has been a steadfast companion in every man's journey towards self-improvement. From the crisp snap of a fresh blade to the smooth glide of a perfect shave, Gillette has consistently stood for the very best in men, empowering them not just to look good, but to feel good, to step out with an undeniable confidence that resonates from within. In today's dynamic landscape, the definition of "looking your best" has beautifully evolved. For some, it's the timeless allure of a chiselled jawline, flawlessly exposed by a clean-shaven look that speaks of discipline and classic elegance. For others, it's the artistic statement of a precisely sculpted beard, a testament to personal style and meticulous attention to detail. It is this evolving spirit of authenticity and personal expression that Gillette, a brand synonymous with men's grooming for over 100 years, proudly embraces in its newest collaboration. To effectively communicate that, no matter one's vision for personal style, Gillette has them covered, the brand has partnered with none other than the epitome of style and precision himself: Hrithik Roshan. This groundbreaking partnership introduces the Gillette Fusion5 razor – a single, sophisticated tool designed to help men achieve the immaculate clean shave and the perfectly defined beard shape. The Gillette Fusion5 isn't just a razor; it's an extension of your intent, engineered for unparalleled precision and comfort. Its advanced 5-blade shaving technology features blades spaced closer together, significantly lowering the pressure per blade for an incredibly smooth and irritation-free experience. A flexible comfort guard gently prepares the beard, ensuring an effortless glide. For those intricate details that define your unique style, the integrated precision blade expertly tackles tricky spots like sideburns, under the nose, and around facial hair, allowing for meticulous shaping. All of this is housed within an ergonomically designed handle, providing superior control and confidence with every stroke. For Hrithik Roshan, precision isn't just a professional standard; it's a personal philosophy that extends to every aspect of his life. Talking about his grooming routine, Hrithik said, "Grooming, for me is not just about looking good-it's about feeling confident and expressing who I am. Whether it's achieving a perfectly clean shave or a polished look for a sharp, well-defined beard, Gillette Fusion5 gives me the precision and versatility I need to own my style. I've always admired how Gillette consistently innovates to meet the evolving grooming needs of men, and I'm thrilled to partner with them on this initiative that celebrates individuality and encourages men to embrace every version of themselves." Abhishek Desai, Vice President & Category Head – Grooming, P&G India, said, 'At Gillette, we are committed to providing innovative grooming solutions that elevate the modern man's everyday confidence. We are delighted to welcome Hrithik Roshan to the Gillette Fusion5 family. His impeccable sense of style and dedication to perfection make him the perfect ambassador for Gillette Fusion5 — a product designed to deliver the perfect shave and perfect shape. Through this campaign, we aim to demonstrate how Fusion5 empowers men with precision grooming and effortless versatility. Together, we are celebrating the modern man's grooming journey.' Through this collaboration, Gillette India celebrates the multifaceted nature of new-age masculinity. It's about transforming grooming from a mere chore into a daily ritual of self-expression and empowerment. Gillette continues its legacy of providing men with the tools they need to not only solve everyday challenges but to confidently present their best versions – inside and out.
