The Argentine manager is said to already be aware he will be sacked, despite his current deal running until 2027. Porto's efforts in the US at the Club World Cup saw them draw Egyptian side Al-Ahly and Brazilian outfit Palmeiras, while they were beaten 2-1 by Lionel Messi's Inter Miami side. According to Record, Porto's players and staff - including club president Andre Villas Boas - were confronted by a group of around 50 angry fans as the team bus arrived at the airport back in Portugal. As well as crashing out of the Club World Cup in the group stages and finishing third in the league, Anselmi's side also exited the Europa League in the play-off round ahead of the last 16. The Portuguese giants were beaten 4-3 on aggregate by Roma.
