Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday, announced two new pilgrimage schemes—'Bauddha Teerth Darshan Yojana' and 'Panch Takht Yatra Yojana' for Buddhists and Sikh devotees. Chairing a meeting, Adityanath said it is the state's responsibility to help citizens visit sites of religious importance, as pilgrimages are key to spiritual upliftment and social harmony. Under these schemes, financial assistance will be provided to ensure easy access to sacred destinations. According to the Chief Minister, the purpose of the Bauddha Teerth Darshan Yojana is to help Hindu/Buddhist residents of Uttar Pradesh undertake pilgrimages to major Buddhist sites across the country. He directed that Buddhist monks be given priority in the selection of beneficiaries under this scheme. Similarly, the Panch Takht Yatra Scheme will benefit Sikh devotees. Under this scheme, Sikh devotees from Uttar Pradesh will be taken on a pilgrimage to the five sacred Takht Sahib sites of Sikhism. These sites include Shri Anandpur Sahib (Punjab), Shri Akal Takht Sahib (Amritsar, Punjab), Shri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo, Punjab), Shri Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib (Nanded, Maharashtra), and Shri Harmandir Ji Sahib (Patna Sahib, Bihar). Under both proposed schemes, a minimum of Rs 10,000 per person will be provided as financial assistance. Adityanath instructed officials to implement both schemes through an entirely online application process in partnership with IRCTC, ensuring transparent beneficiary selection and prioritizing economically disadvantaged applicants. Adityanath also directed officials to implement the schemes with the highest focus on the convenience, safety, and religious sentiments of the devotees.

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath govt has announced that it will sponsor pilgrimages for Buddhist and Sikh devotees. In a meeting chaired by CM Yogi on Saturday, it was decided to launch two new pilgrimage schemes — the Baudh Teerth Darshan Yojana and the Panch Takht Yatra Yojana — under which a minimum of Rs 10,000 will be provided as assistance to each pilgrim. The Baudh Teerth Darshan Yojana will help Buddhist and Hindu residents of Uttar Pradesh undertake pilgrimages to major sites across the country. Similarly, the Panch Takht Yatra Scheme will benefit Sikh devotees visiting the five sacred Takht Sahib sites in the country. The CM said that it was the state's responsibility to help citizens visit the places of religious importance "as pilgrimages are key to spiritual upliftment and social harmony". "These schemes should be implemented with focus on the convenience, safety and religious sentiments of devotees. Such initiatives will strengthen the state's inclusive development policy and the spirit of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'. The schemes will give a new dimension to religious harmony and tourism in the state, and further embody the vision of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'," the CM said. The CM said the application process for both the schemes should be online, with complete transparency in the selection process. He said priority should be given to individuals from economically weaker sections. Both the schemes will be operated in collaboration with IRCTC.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday directed officials to launch two new pilgrimage assistance schemes -- the ' Buddhist Tirtha Darshan Yojana ' and the ' Panch Takht Yatra Yojana ' -- to facilitate spiritual travel for Buddhist and Sikh devotees, the state government said in a statement. In a review meeting, Adityanath said pilgrimages are a means of spiritual upliftment and social harmony, and it is the government's responsibility to assist citizens in reaching places associated with their faith. Under the 'Buddhist Tirtha Darshan Yojana', financial assistance will be provided to Buddhist devotees, especially monks, to visit key pilgrimage sites across India. Similarly, the 'Panch Takht Yatra Yojana' will enable Sikh devotees from Uttar Pradesh to visit the five holy Takht Sahib sites -- Shri Anandpur Sahib, Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Shri Damdama Sahib, Shri Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib, and Shri Harmandir Ji Sahib (Patna Sahib). In both schemes, devotees will receive a minimum grant of Rs 10,000 per person.
