Fashion face-off: Kim Kardashian walks the runway as Cardi B takes centre stage in Paris
Kim Kardashian and Cardi B were among the many celebrities who went to Paris the star-studded fashion event. Image: Instagram A-list celebrities came to slay at the Paris Haute Couture this week, whether it was walking the runway or slaying the front row seats. While fashion enthusiasts anticipated that American media personality Kim Kardashian would dazzle at the high-profile fashion affair, she instead became one of the models who strutted the runway for Balenciaga as Demna Gvasalia, the creative director of the brand, marked his final show for the brand. Kardashian took to Instagram and gave fans a glimpse of the show, including the behind-the-scenes, as she paid tribute to Gvasalia. 'Walking Demna's last Balenciaga Couture show dripping in Lorraine Schwartz Jewellery and wearing Elizabeth Taylor's own diamond earring from her private collection,' she wrote. 'An era ends, but your legacy continues. Walking your final show for Balenciaga was an honour @demna. Thank you for the vision, the courage, the future you gave fashion. Onward to your next chapter - with love and deep respect,' Campbell captioned her post. Even though Kardashian and Campbell did not deliver a highly anticipated fashion statement with dazzling outfits like the public thought, Cardi B, however, turned heads and owned Haute Couture week. The American rapper has been wearing bold outfits that have captured the attention of the masses globally. Not only were her outfits bold, but they certainly became a fashion statement as she always wears extraordinary outfits, which she meticulously pairs with amazing hairstyles that blend perfectly with her outfits. Cardi B first stunned the internet with a black Schiaparelli dress that featured exaggerated shoulders with layered, moving pearls and even brought a live crow! She then wore a Stephane Rolland bubble black and white jacket with a long black skirt as she attended the brand's fashion show. The third stunning outfit she wore was for the Ashi Studio brand and dazzled in a beige costume dress that was made from pleats and lace. To close it off, Cardi B attended the Balenciaga show in a mesh black dress and took to Instagram as she paid a heartfelt tribute to Gvasalia. '@demna I'm truly emotional but so excited for this new chapter in life for you! Thank you for putting me on your campaigns, having me do your runway and treating me like I'm a part of your team!! You are such an amazing designer, I can't wait to see what you have up on your sleeve next,' she captioned her post.

Model flashes boobs in see-through top
Brooks Nader made a bold fashion statement this week, stepping out during Paris Haute Couture Week in an outfit that left little to the imagination. The 28-year-old Sports Illustrated model was spotted arriving at a restaurant for a girls' night out, joined by her friend and newlywed Lauren Sanchez Bezos, as well as her sister, Sarah Jane Nader. Nader's ensemble featured a completely sheer black top with an oversized bow at the neckline. Her bare chest was toned down ever so slightly by the addition of silicone nipple pasties, which were nude but prevented her from completely flashing her breasts. She completed the striking look with on-trend black capri leggings, strappy black heels, and a snakeskin clutch. Her makeup was kept minimal and dewy, and her blonde curls added a touch of effortless glam. Tiny Parisian chic sunglasses finished off the all-black ensemble. Lauren Sanchez Bezos, 55, who recently celebrated her wedding with Nader in attendance, also turned heads in a figure-hugging red leather dress with a corset bodice and a scoop neckline. Her flashy new wedding ring was on full display and matched her sparkly diamond earrings. Meanwhile, Sarah Jane, 22, opted for a black and white satin maxi dress with a dramatic plunge neckline, rounding out the trio's eye-catching looks. Silicone nipple covers are typically designed to create a smooth, discreet silhouette under clothing. However, Nader's decision to make them visible beneath her sheer top turned them from a hidden wardrobe accessory into an intentional part of her outfit. This isn't the first time Nader has used fashion to make a statement. Just days ago, she went viral after sharing a candid video from Wimbledon, where she experienced a period stain on her long white skirt. Rather than shying away from the moment, Nader poked fun at it head-on, using TikTok to normalise the relatable period mishap. Nader first rose to fame after winning the 2019 Sports Illustrated Swim Search, quickly becoming a regular in the magazine's swimsuit editions from 2020 to 2022. In 2023, she graced the cover of the iconic publication and cemented her status as a model to watch in the industry. Now, with her upcoming reality show ' Love Thy Nader ' – which follows the four Nader sisters as they chase their modelling dreams in New York – she's no doubt going to continue to be in the headlines.

Lena Mahfouf shows off vintage gown in Paris
DUBAI: French Algerian author and YouTube star Lena Mahfouf attended Le Bal d'Été at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris on Sunday in a vintage gown by Vivienne Westwood. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @ Other guests included Chanel ambassadors Keira Knightley, Kirsten Dunst, and Penélope Cruz. Proceeds from the evening — an estimated $2 million — will go toward supporting the exhibition '1925–2025: One Hundred Years of Art Deco,' which opens on Oct. 22. Sofia Coppola was the artistic director for this year's edition of the ball and she told Vogue that she 'wanted to keep the theme of a summer ball and bring the garden inside … and I approached it the same way I would a party scene in a movie.' Legendary French hostess Countess Jacqueline de Ribes, who was captured in an iconic 1980s photograph, served as Coppola's inspiration, with the director telling Vogue 'I love the way hostesses did things then — big dresses, big flowers, color — while still being elegant and refined. 'I loved the idea of pale pink inspired by the Chanel archives — kind of Ginger Rogers — and I always loved Karl's shirt dresses. I hope it feels personal, like a celebration of Paris and an occasion to dress up surrounded by beauty, art de vivre, and the great work of all the artisans who participated,' she added. The event kicks off Paris Haute Couture Week, which this season will see provocative Georgian showman Demna take a final bow after 10 years at Balenciaga. The fashion week, which began on Monday, will also feature a debut for Maison Margiela's new chief creative. Demna, known for his daring work as well as controversies during his decade-long stint at Kering-owned Balenciaga, will unveil his final collection on Wednesday in what is expected to be one of the highlights of the week. Not to be confused with Paris Fashion Week, Haute Couture Week takes place exclusively in Paris - in January for spring-summer collections and July for autumn-winter. It is a uniquely French event dedicated to handcrafted, one-of-a-kind creations made to wear at red carpets, galas, and other high-profile events. As usual, Schiaparelli opened Couture Week, followed later in the day by shows from Iris Van Herpen as well as Lebanon's Georges Hobeika, among other labels.

Glenn Martens to debut at Margiela during Paris Couture in July
will make his runway debut at Maison Margiela during the next Paris Haute Couture in July. The Belgian designer will thus kick off his tenure at the Paris-based house with a Maison Margiela Artisanal collection for the Fall 2025 season. The next four-day Paris Haute Couture runs from July 7 to 10 and will feature shows by nearly 30 marques. Glenn Martens certainly has a hard act to follow. This first Martens show for Margiela will mark the house's return to couture since January 2024, when John Galliano staged what many would regard as the most important couture show in Paris this decade—an epic reimagining of nocturnal Paris from the 1930s staged underneath the Pont Alexandre III that marked the end of Galliano's 10-year tenure at Maison Margiela. No word yet on where and on what day Martens' Margiela debut will be staged, though his predecessor not infrequently staged Maison Margiela shows inside the house's elegant HQ, a seven-story Haussmann-era building on Place des États-Unis. Though founded as a bohemian, conceptual marque by Belgian designer Martin Margiela in edgy north Paris, the brand now resides in the tony 16th arrondissement. 'This (show) marks the beginning of an inspiring new chapter for the maison, rooted in our core creative values and shaped by Margiela's couture heritage. Under Glenn's direction, couture will continue to ignite creativity for the brand and drive boundary-pushing designs,' Maison Margiela said in a release. Martin Margiela founded his brand in 1988 in Paris, going on to build a huge reputation for his off-beat clothes, worn finishes, frayed seams, and hyper-discreet attitude. Margiela never took a bow after any show—a tradition followed strictly by Galliano, who previously, at his own house and at Dior, was famous for elaborately attired and lengthy ovations. In 2006, OTB, the main investment vehicle of Italian fashion entrepreneur Renzo Rosso, acquired complete control of the Margiela brand—the same year in which Maison Margiela Artisanal entered the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, which controls the Paris runway season. OTB's largest brand is the jeans label Diesel, and Rosso also named Martens its creative director back in 2020. Martens' arrival at Margiela dovetails with the brand's roots in Belgium, its unconventional style, and quirky take on fashion. Prior to joining Diesel, Martens spent over a decade as the designer of Y/Project, an indie label much admired for its blend of street couture and unfinished aesthetic. Like many top Belgian designers, Martens is a graduate of Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts. After Jean Paul Gaultier saw Martens' 2008 graduation show, he hired Glenn to be a junior womenswear designer in his Paris house. In 2022, Gaultier continued the compliment when Martens staged a one-off couture show for Jean Paul's house—part of a unique series of collaborations at the Puig -owned brand. Martens is to make his couture debut in a busy season that will also feature the return of Iris van Herpen of Holland and the final show at Balenciaga by Demna, the acclaimed Georgian couturier who parent company Kering has named as the new creative director of Gucci. The final question that remains: Will Glenn take a bow after his Margiela debut?
