Pascal Wehrlein trains football star Sergio Aguero during Formula E Evo Sessions, watch the thrill unfold
Image credit: Formula E Manchester City star Sergio Aguero is one of the few chosen ones to get a chance to drive a Formula E car on a race track. The footballer had his own GEN3 Evo session, guided by none other than TAG Heuer Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein. And Aguero nailed it by driving the electric race car like a pro, although he missed his engineer's message to slow down to cool the tyres. Sergio Aguero takes on the race track in a GEN3 Evo Sergio Aguero got the opportunity to drive the Porsche 99X Electric GEN3 Evo Formula E car during Miami's Evo Sessions on March 5 and 6. The video from his Evo session is pure entertainment, as he takes lap after lap, clearly enjoying the thrill of driving a race car. Earlier, the official handle of FIA Formula E shared a video from Sergio's Evo Session on Instagram. It showed how the footballer missed the messages to slow down and continued at high speed despite the need to cool the tyres. He later asked them to raise the volume and eventually slowed down. Pascal Wehrlein was seen doing a great job coaching him over the radio. The 37-year-old told about the opportunity, 'This is absolutely crazy: from footballer to racing driver in one of the fastest racing cars in the world. Every child is familiar with Porsche. The brand represents an iconic heritage, particularly in motorsport. I am absolutely delighted and would like to thank everyone involved for this unique opportunity.' All about GEN3 Evo Sessions Aguero and other participants underwent detailed training, which included simulator sessions, physical conditioning, driver coaching, hardware customization, and engineering briefings. It not only gave them the thrill of driving a race car but also gave viewers insight into the intricate world of Formula E — how a driver is trained and how the car is driven during a race. A complete documentary will be released later this year, showcasing the entire Evo Sessions footage. Sharing his reaction when Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds first presented the idea, he said, 'The initial reaction when I presented the concept of 'Evo Sessions' to our teams and partners was, 'This is wild!' — which is when I immediately knew we had to bring it to life. We wanted to do something that has never been done before in motorsport; something that would give audiences and our fan base a unique perspective into the world of a Formula E driver, through the eyes of some of their favourite online personalities. ' He added, 'Formula E is the fastest-growing motorsport in the world, and we have a clear target to hit half a billion fans by 2030. Through collaborating with some of the biggest names in popular culture right now, we're able to open up Formula E to a whole new fanbase.' Ride Along with Sergio Aguero in the GEN3 Evo
/ Jun 22, 2025, 10:06PM IST I just watched Sergio Agüero's onboard lap in the GEN3 Evo during Formula E's 'Evo Sessions' at Miami and wow, it's wild to see a football legend tackling a racecar! Guided by Pascal Wehrlein, you're there in the cockpit as Agüero wrestles the wheel through tight corners and long straights. You hear every shift and rev, and there's this adorable moment when he laughs mid-turn, not perfect, but refreshingly human. It's like watching your mate try something totally outside their comfort zone—and mostly nail it.

Jakarta E-Prix 2025: Maximilian Gunther, Oliver Rowland, or a new face - here are top contenders for a podium finish at Round 12 Formula E race
Image credit: Formula E Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is coming to a close, with five races remaining on the calendar. The Jakarta E-Prix is a crucial race, and it's hard to predict who may lift the trophy in Indonesia this year. The current season has already seen seven different race winners and fifteen drivers on the podium. Not only that, but every single team has achieved a podium finish so far — a clear indication of how tight and unpredictable the competition is. Jakarta E-Prix 2025 podium predictions Oliver Rowland Nissan's Oliver Rowland is far ahead of the competition so far, as he dominates the FIA Drivers' World Championship standings with 171 points — significantly ahead of Pascal Wehrlein, who sits in second position with 103 points for TAG Heuer Porsche. Rowland has a total of four wins and three second-place finishes this season, and he may continue his winning streak in Jakarta as well. Maximilian Gunther Maserati MSG Racing's Maximilian Gunther is being counted among the hot favourites to bag a podium at the Jakarta E-Prix. He has two wins under his belt this year and will be trying his best to maintain his stronghold in the city and add more points to his tally. He had secured third place in the Part 1 race in 2023, having started from Julius Bar Pole Position — a historic moment as Maserati's first single-seater motorsport pole since 1958. He again bagged the pole the next day of the double-header and went on to win his first race in the iconic blue livery of Maserati MSG Racing. It marked Maserati's first single-seater championship podium since Juan Manuel Fangio's 1957 German Grand Prix victory, en route to that year's Formula One title. Pascal Wehrlein Pascal Wehrlein won one of the two races at the Jakarta E-Prix's last edition, and the TAG Heuer Porsche driver is very much in form at present, with a win in Miami and three more podium finishes in the Formula E 2025 World Championship so far. He is second in the 2025 Formula E Driver Standings with 103 points and will be aiming for a win to catch up with Rowland. Mitch Evans Jaguar TCS Racing's Mitch Evans has been away from the podium for a long time now after winning the first race of this season in Sao Paulo. But this could also indicate his growing hunger for a win — or at least another podium — possibly in Jakarta, before the season comes to a close. Evans had won the first edition of the Jakarta E-Prix in 2022, when three drivers crossed the line within a single second. The other two drivers were Jean-Éric Vergne and Edoardo Mortara, who took second and third positions in that Season 8 race. He also bagged the third spot on the podium in Race 2 of the Jakarta double-header in 2023. This makes him one of the strong contenders to make a comeback on the podium. Also Read: Jakarta E-Prix 2025: Schedule, how to watch Round 12 Formula E race, weather prediction Since Nick Cassidy and Sebastien Buemi have also ended their race droughts this year, one can expect a new winner in Jakarta as well. The E-Prix begins on Friday with the free practice session and will conclude on Saturday with the final race in the early evening. The heat is on — but rain is likely, and that's enough to add to the unpredictability factor. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. Watch Episode 1 here

Adapting to Hypercar from Formula E is 'so easy' for Pascal Wehrlein – here's why
One of the most high-profile rookies at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours, Porsche Penske Motorsport's Pascal Wehrlein feels adequately prepared for the demanding French classic. The former Formula 1 driver, DTM champion and reigning Formula E world champion took sixth on his endurance racing debut at the Daytona 24 Hours alongside Bryce Aron, Gianmaria Bruni and Tijmen van der Helm, then ninth at the Spa-Francorchamps 6 Hours with Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor. Advertisement Wehrlein is now coming into Le Mans with a third set of team-mates, sharing the #4 Porsche 963 with Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy. Following the test day, he feels confident in his ability to be quick, regardless of the Porsche LMDh prototype being extremely different to the Formula E machinery he drives most of the time – because it's too different for the comparison to be relevant in any way. 'Obviously I've driven many categories in my career so far, so in general I have a very good understanding of what a car needs to be quick,' the German explained. 'I've driven DTM, which is a prototype touring car; I've driven Formula 1, which has a lot of downforce; Formula E, and now LMDh. I would say I have quite a big toolbox of driving styles – and adapting quickly to it, I know what it takes. 'I feel like, also, the transition from Formula E to this car is so easy, because actually you don't have a wrong reference. The cars behave so differently that I don't compare it to Formula E, I don't take anything from that car, jump into this car and think, 'yeah but here it felt like that'. It's completely different cars. 'I would assume, for example, if I put myself 10 years back, and sat in a DTM car and then drove this car, there would be a lot more going on in my head: 'Yeah, but my DTM car is a bit like that, and now I'm in this'. It's so different. There's nothing to compare. It makes the transition quite smooth.' Pascal Wehrlein, TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team Pascal Wehrlein, TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team Team-mates Nasr and Tandy are competing at Le Mans for the sixth and 13th time respectively, with the Briton having won the race overall in 2015, which represents a wealth of experience for Wehrlein to lean on. Advertisement Asked by what advice his partners have given him, Wehrlein said: 'So much. I think it would exceed your report! 'They've been so supportive. Felipe and Nick, the whole team – even Laurens, Kevin in Spa, my other team-mates. 'I've been asking a lot of questions, just because I know there are a lot of rookie mistakes and errors you can do, and I just want to jump that step. I want to be as well prepared as I can. 'A lot of it is actually procedures – rules, regulations, slow zones, all this stuff. A penalty here can be so costly. 'Timo [Bernhard] has been very supportive, giving a lot of advice on traffic management – how to place your car, where to place it. Advertisement 'Jumping into the car, being on pace, on speed, that is not the thing. It's more about procedures, about how to be fast through the traffic and avoid losing a lot of time there. 'If you approach a corner and you see it's going to be tight to pass this LMP2 car or GT3 car, is it worth to push flat out and pass him, or will I not make it anyway, so it's better to save energy and save fuel? Just that – a bit of a different mentality.' Read Also: Ferrari 'clearly faster' than Toyota at Le Mans - Sebastien Buemi To read more articles visit our website.
