UAE-India flights: Airlines issue travel advisory as heavy rains lash parts of country

As heavy rains lash across parts of India, airlines have issued travel advisories to their passengers, warning them of delays in some states. With India's monsoons clashing with the UAE's summers, there is heavy travel during these few months as residents go back home for vacations. Air India, which is set to partially resume international flights after the deadly Ahmedabad crash last month, warned passengers in its advisory on Wednesday, July 16, of gusty winds and rains impacting flight operations in Delhi. It advised them to check the latest flight status on its website before heading out. Meanwhile, Indigo issued an advisory for people travelling to and from Delhi and Patna amid heavy showers. The airline in its statement on July 16 said that "while operations remain on schedule for now, weather-related delays may be expected later in the day". Passengers have been recommend to check their flight status on their website or app before heading to the airport. Additionally, they must keep extra time for their journey, as rain may affect traffic conditions en route. In Patna, the airline stated that departures and arrivals may be slightly affected and advised passengers to check their flight status on its website or app before heading out and keep some extra travel time. Budget airline SpiceJet issued advisories for Delhi, Varanasi, Bagdogra and Mumbai travellers in the past two days due to bad weather and alerted them of potential impact to arrivals and departures. Passengers have been advised to keep a check on their flight status via their website and those travelling to the airport are requested to keep a tab on live traffic and allow sufficient time for the journey due to traffic congestion on the roads leading to the airport.

Air India Birmingham-New Delhi flight diverted to Riyadh after bomb threat; lands safely

New Delhi: Air India flight AI-114 from Birmingham to New Delhi received a bomb threat on Saturday, after which it was diverted to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely, Air India said on Sunday. An airline spokesperson said that Air India Express flight IX1014 from Delhi (DEL) to Patna (PAT) on 21 June 2025 was diverted to Varanasi (VNS). "Due to adverse weather conditions, one of our flights to Patna was diverted briefly to Varanasi. When the weather improved, the flight resumed and landed in Patna. We regret the delay caused by circumstances beyond our control," the spokesperson said. On Friday, Air India cancelled several international and domestic flights due to increased aircraft checks, bad weather, and airspace restrictions. Affected flights include services between Dubai, Chennai, Delhi, Melbourne, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. According to an Air India's statement, "Air India's international flights AI906 from Dubai to Chennai; AI308 from Delhi to Melbourne; AI309 from Melbourne to Delhi; AI2204 from Dubai to Hyderabad and domestic flights AI874 from Pune to Delhi; AI456 from Ahmedabad to Delhi; AI-2872 from Hyderabad to Mumbai and AI571 from Chennai to Mumbai have been cancelled due to enhanced maintenance and operational reasons." DeHaat Acquires NEERX to Boost Real-Time Agri Intelligence

Through this acquisition, DeHaat will now offer farmers real-time insights into soil health and weather conditions, aimed at improving agricultural decision-making. You're reading Entrepreneur India, an international franchise of Entrepreneur Media. Agritech leader DeHaat has acquired Ahmedabad-based NEERX, a smart farming solutions company, for an undisclosed amount. This strategic move integrates NEERX's advanced real-time soil and weather monitoring technology into the DeHaat platform, significantly enhancing its precision agriculture offerings. Founded in 2019 by Harsh Agrawal and Nikita Tiwari, NEERX is known for its flagship product, SHOOL — an ISRO-validated soil sensor that delivers vital data on soil and crop conditions. The sensor system merges on-ground data with satellite imagery and cloud-based analytics to optimise irrigation, nutrient usage, and crop productivity. Through this acquisition, DeHaat will now offer farmers real-time insights into soil health and weather conditions, aimed at improving agricultural decision-making. The SHOOL sensors and NEERX's analytics platform will be deployed across DeHaat's network, providing actionable recommendations to smallholder farmers. NEERX's founders will join DeHaat to support the scaling of this technology. The move aligns with DeHaat's broader goal of integrating cutting-edge tech into Indian agriculture. Founded in 2012, DeHaat operates from Patna and Gurugram and serves over 12 states with a wide range of agricultural services — including quality input delivery, farm advisory, financial assistance, and market linkages. Its network spans more than 18,000 DeHaat Centres and includes partnerships with over 1,000 agribusinesses. The NEERX acquisition follows DeHaat's purchase of AgriCentral from Olam Agri earlier this year, as the company continues to expand its digital agriculture ecosystem. The latest partnership underscores DeHaat's commitment to data-driven, sensor-based solutions to empower Indian farmers.
