Major Luuk de jong transfer clue amid Rangers links
The Netherlands hero has been linked with a transfer to Rangers in recent weeks, with his future at PSV looking to be almost over. The former Newcastle and Barcelona forward did not travel with the rest of his teammates as Peter Bosz's squad headed for their pre-season training camp in Germany. And the striker's departure from PSV appears to have been all but sealed with his No.9 shirt being taken off him. Instead, it has been assigned to fellow frontman Ricardo Pepi. "It's a privilege," the American told ESPN. "Many legends have worn this number at PSV. I'm taking on the challenge of writing my own history. "There should always be competition. It keeps you sharp and that makes you a better player. "I don't want to bother him [De Jong] at the moment, because I know he's figuring out what career path he wants to take. "I'm sure the club has discussed it with him. I trust he'll make the best choice for himself. We've always had good conversations. We have a good relationship." Rangers have been linked with the experienced forward as Russell Martin continues to shape his squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Jamie Vardy had also been a player heavily touted with a move to Ibrox, however, cold water appears to be have poured over that suggestion.

PSV bring in Bundesliga goalkeeping pedigree on loan
PSV have signed goalkeeper Matej Kovar on loan from Bayer Leverkusen. The 25-year-old Czech international arrives in Eindhoven with an option to buy him permanently available next year. Kovar will provide competition from the previously signed Nick Olij. Peter Bosz will decide who will become PSV's new first-choice goalkeeper after Walter Benítez left for Crystal Palace on a free transfer. Advertisement The arrival of Kovar and Olij gives Joël Drommel the opportunity to play elsewhere. He has left PSV's training camp in Germany and will likely join Sparta Rotterdam on loan. Kovar was Bayer Leverkusen's second-choice goalkeeper behind the experienced Lukas Hradecky. However, the Czech made several Champions League appearances last season. The PSV captain is considering his future after becoming a free agent at the end of last season Veteran striker Luuk de Jong would be "open" to joining Rangers this summer amid surging speculation in the Netherlands. It is claimed that the former Dutch international has no intention of retiring and is open to a "final foreign adventure" with PSV ready to move on to other targets. The report emerges with Lille preparing to make their move for Hamza Igamane with Cyriel Dessers also approaching the Ibrox exit with AEK interested. Record Sport understands that the Moroccan is keen on a deal but sources close to the Mastiffs admit a deal is 'nowhere near close' with the Light Blues pushing for £15million deal.
