Sports fans, mascots reenact viral Coldplay concert 'Kiss Cam' moment

Jumbotron 'Kiss Cams' have taken on a whole new meaning. Over the weekend, sports fans and mascots poked fun at the viral moment in which two employees from tech company Astronomer were seen embracing during a Coldplay concert. In efforts to not be seen, the two scurried out of the camera's view, but the internet was quick to identify them, one who was the CEO of the company and has since resigned. During the Philadelphia Phillies' game against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, July 18, mascot Phillie Phanatic – a large, green furry bird – is spotted on the jumbotron with another Phanatic character donning long blonde hair. The two shake their heads in surprise, Phanatic darts off screen and the other character covers her face in shame. Fans clapped and cheered in support. Watch the moment and more in the video above. Is it time to move on? The Coldplay concert affair captivated the internet. After the skit, the jumbotron camera panned to a man holding a handmade sign that reads, "This IS My Wife," followed by a smooch from the loving couple. But the Phillies couldn't let the gag down and decided to pan back to the mascots, still hiding in shame from the camera. Fans at the Colorado Rockies game against the Minnesota Twins game on Saturday, July 19 also took part in the fun. During the kiss cam, a man and woman hunker down from the camera's view before popping back up in laughter. And then to everyone's surprise, another woman comes up to kiss the man in frame. Phillies Suggested to Make ‘Extreme' Brandon Marsh Move Amid Losing Streak

Phillies Suggested to Make 'Extreme' Brandon Marsh Move Amid Losing Streak originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the Philadelphia Phillies look to end a five-game losing streak and halt an extended freefall, we're sure plenty around the team have ideas on how to right the ship. Advertisement Phillies writer Matt Gelb has his own suggestion, albeit one he admittedly believes is an "extreme" one. No, Phillies fans won't have to worry about Green Man replacing the Phrenetic—er, we mean the Phanatic. Instead, Gelb proposed the team could demote struggling outfielder Brandon Marsh to Triple-A amid a career-worst campaign. "Marsh has been at or below replacement level for most of the season," Gelb wrote on Monday. "The Phillies would be justified in seeking a 'reset' for the 27-year-old outfielder. But it would be extreme." Marsh entered Monday hitting .216 with two homers, 12 RBI, and a disappointing .638 OPS in 131 plate appearances. The 27-year-old has posted -0.4 bWAR and only seven extra-base hits—and none off a right-handed pitcher since May 25. Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Brandon MarshNathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images It'd definitely be surprising to see the Phillies demote Marsh, especially given the lack of outfield depth. Johan Rojas isn't exactly lighting the world up with a .629 OPS, and Gelb doesn't believe Justin Crawford would be an "offensive savior." Advertisement Of course, the 37-28 Phillies could try to jumpstart their season with a trade. Rumors continue to mount about Boston Red Sox star Jarren Duran's availability, and clubs like the Chicago White Sox and Miami Marlins likely aren't far from officially pivoting to 2026. At some point, though, the Phillies will need to do something. Philadelphia has lost 10 of 13 and sits 4 1/2 back of the New York Mets in the NL East. What's new at Citizens Bank Park this season ahead of Philadelphia Phillies' home opener

The start of the Major League Baseball season means a new lineup of tasty eats and treats, technology upgrades, fanwear and much more at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park. With the Fightins just days away from their home opener against the Colorado Rockies , the Phillies and Aramark Sports & Entertainment revealed what new amenities fans can expect to see this season at the ballpark. The stadium's enhancements begin with state-of-the-art technology aimed at elevating the fan and visitor experience at Citizens Bank Park. Like, the stadium's new LED rings, which span over 3,100 feet and wrap around the ballpark's suite level. The LED rings will display ball-strike counts, scoring decisions, stats and more. Home run celebrations also just got a little brighter with the Xfinity Home Run Takeover, a light show that pops up every time a Phillie homers. The custom light show will illuminate the ballpark from foul pole to foul pole with a supersized Xfinity logo in the center that will pulse with color during every celebration. Plus, fans will appreciate the upgrades to the ballpark's sound system and field-level signage. As for mouth-watering additions , the newly-revealed chef creations include: Bull's BBQ House Chips and Dip (Left Field Plaza), Pass and Stow Cobb Salad (adjacent to the Third Base Gate), Crispy Chicken Sandwich (Pass and Stow), Kosher Grill's pulled brisket sandwich (behind Section 124), Kyle's Cutlets (Coca-Cola Corner) – where a portion of the proceeds acquired from every sandwich sold will go to Schwarber's Neighborhood Heroes, PJ Whelihan's Onion Rings (Ashburn Alley) and Uncle Charlie's Express (behind Section 319) – named after World Series champion manager Charlie Manuel. Fans looking for something to quench their thirst can get a 16/24-ounce Beverage Bat filled with beer, a cocktail, frozen drink or non-alcoholic refreshment. Visitors can also score a memento when they purchase the Cotton Candy Mask, a foam mask showcasing the Phanatic, the Fastball Souvenir Cup, designed to hold frozen cocktails and beverages, or the On-field Ice Cream Caps. This season, the ballpark will also offer Four Walls Irish Coffee Tiramisu (CP Rankin Club), Red Velvet Affogato (The Yard behind Section 102), and S'mores Quesadilla (Coca-Cola Corner). Citizens Bank Park visitors can also support and try out Philly-favorite brands like Jason and Travis Kelce's Garage Beer, Rob McElhenney's Wrexham Lager and Zomoz mescal, which Phillies legend Ryan Howard invests in, and Philly's Best Steak, which is headquartered and made in the Greater Philadelphia area, at the ballpark. Other partner offerings include Alc-A-Chino Spiked Coffee and Schär Gluten-Free Dedicated Stand. A retro Phanatic onesie for adults? Say less. Citizens Bank Park will have exclusive fan gear available only at their New Era Phillies Team Store. Some of the new additions include: the retro Phanatic onesie, suit jacket, fuzzy sandals, gold chain necklace, along with plush toys, piggy banks, neon signs, bobbleheads, headgear and more. Golfers can also sport their Phillies fandom with ballpark-exclusive designs from brands like Peter Millar, Johnnie-O and more. Plus, custom baseball bats made by Bruce "The Bat King" Tatem. Phillies fans can also enjoy plenty of fun photo ops inside the ballpark, like at the "City of Brotherly Love" mural, created by Lindsay Archer. For the second year in a row, the Phillies and SEI commissioned a mural by a local artist, with this year's theme being "Connecting Communities." Archer's homage to Philadelphia will be on display above Ashburn Alley on the CP Rankin Roof. Another perk for this season — fans can get to the ballpark earlier for games. The Third Base Gate and Left Field Gate will open two hours before each game, Monday through Friday, and two and a half hours early Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will be able to access the main concourse from the Pass and Stow and the New Era Phillies Team Store to the Yard.

Phillies star Bryce Harper takes his love for the Phillie Phanatic to the next level with a tattoo

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Bryce Harper's love for the Philly Phanatic runs skin deep. Literally. The Phillies star arrived at spring training sporting a tattoo on his right arm of the team's iconic mascot zooming around on an all-terrain vehicle. Harper worked with Utah-based tattoo artist Hannah Matthews on the fine-line design. Matthews featured her session with Harper on her Instagram page and included a close-up for Harper's latest ink, located on the outside of Harper's right arm just above the wrist. The two-time National League MVP and eight-time All-Star has regularly yucked it up with the Phanatic since signing with the Phillies in 2019. Harper's sported cleats and a headband featuring the large, furry green bird-type creature and wielded a Phanatic-themed bat while facing the New York Mets in London last summer. Harper told he had wanted to do something to honor the Phanatic for a while. 'I just love Philly,' Harper said. "I love the Phanatic. It's just fun.' The placement of the tattoo is intentional. Harper told the idea is the Phanatic will be following the flight of the ball when it leaves the left-handed Harper's bat. 'People can kind of see that as I swing,' Harper said. 'Him driving off my arm, I thought it looked pretty cool.' ___ AP MLB: The Associated Press
