What's new at Citizens Bank Park this season ahead of Philadelphia Phillies' home opener
With the
Fightins
just days away from their
home opener against the Colorado Rockies
, the Phillies and Aramark Sports & Entertainment revealed what new amenities fans can expect to see this season at the ballpark.
The stadium's enhancements begin with state-of-the-art technology aimed at elevating the fan and visitor experience at Citizens Bank Park. Like, the stadium's new LED rings, which span over 3,100 feet and wrap around the ballpark's suite level. The LED rings will display ball-strike counts, scoring decisions, stats and more.
Home run celebrations also just got a little brighter with the Xfinity Home Run Takeover, a light show that pops up every time a Phillie homers. The custom light show will illuminate the ballpark from foul pole to foul pole with a supersized Xfinity logo in the center that will pulse with color during every celebration. Plus, fans will appreciate the upgrades to the ballpark's sound system and field-level signage.
As for
mouth-watering additions
, the newly-revealed chef creations include: Bull's BBQ House Chips and Dip (Left Field Plaza), Pass and Stow Cobb Salad (adjacent to the Third Base Gate), Crispy Chicken Sandwich (Pass and Stow), Kosher Grill's pulled brisket sandwich (behind Section 124), Kyle's Cutlets (Coca-Cola Corner) – where a portion of the proceeds acquired from every sandwich sold will go to Schwarber's Neighborhood Heroes, PJ Whelihan's Onion Rings (Ashburn Alley) and Uncle Charlie's Express (behind Section 319) – named after
World Series champion manager Charlie Manuel.
Fans looking for something to quench their thirst can get a 16/24-ounce Beverage Bat filled with beer, a cocktail, frozen drink or non-alcoholic refreshment.
Visitors can also score a memento when they purchase the Cotton Candy Mask, a foam mask showcasing the Phanatic, the Fastball Souvenir Cup, designed to hold frozen cocktails and beverages, or the On-field Ice Cream Caps. This season, the ballpark will also offer Four Walls Irish Coffee Tiramisu (CP Rankin Club), Red Velvet Affogato (The Yard behind Section 102), and S'mores Quesadilla (Coca-Cola Corner).
Citizens Bank Park visitors can also support and try out Philly-favorite brands like Jason and Travis Kelce's Garage Beer, Rob McElhenney's Wrexham Lager and Zomoz mescal, which Phillies legend Ryan Howard invests in, and Philly's Best Steak, which is headquartered and made in the Greater Philadelphia area, at the ballpark. Other partner offerings include Alc-A-Chino Spiked Coffee and Schär Gluten-Free Dedicated Stand.
A retro Phanatic onesie for adults? Say less.
Citizens Bank Park will have exclusive fan gear available only at their New Era Phillies Team Store. Some of the new additions include: the retro Phanatic onesie, suit jacket, fuzzy sandals, gold chain necklace, along with plush toys, piggy banks, neon signs, bobbleheads, headgear and more.
Golfers can also sport their Phillies fandom with ballpark-exclusive designs from brands like Peter Millar, Johnnie-O and more. Plus, custom baseball bats made by Bruce "The Bat King" Tatem.
Phillies fans can also enjoy plenty of fun photo ops inside the ballpark, like at the
"City of Brotherly Love" mural, created by Lindsay Archer.
For the second year in a row, the Phillies and SEI commissioned a mural by a local artist, with this year's theme being "Connecting Communities." Archer's homage to Philadelphia will be on display above Ashburn Alley on the CP Rankin Roof.
Another perk for this season — fans can get to the ballpark earlier for games. The Third Base Gate and Left Field Gate will open two hours before each game, Monday through Friday, and two and a half hours early Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will be able to access the main concourse from the Pass and Stow and the New Era Phillies Team Store to the Yard.

Vic Fangio was surprised with a jersey of his favorite Phillies player
Before his Tuesday press conference, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was surprised with a jersey of his favorite Phillies player, Dick Allen After having two understudies run the system to mixed reviews, the Eagles got their man and the scheme's architect last spring as Vic Fangio was officially named the team's defensive coordinator. Fangio wanted to be closer to his family in Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia had a vacancy after firing Sean Desai. In Fangio's first year as coach, the team had a rocky start with uneven performances in the first four games. However, after a bye week in Week 5 and the addition of Cooper DeJean to the starting lineup, the Eagles went on to win 10 consecutive games. They only lost three games during the regular season, ultimately leading them to a Super Bowl victory. Before his press conference on Tuesday, Fangio, who is an old-school sports fan, was pleasantly surprised to receive a jersey of his favorite Phillies player, Dick Allen. Fangio told the media that Allen was his favorite player as a kid, and the newest member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame out of Wampum, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, was one of the best to ever do it. Allen spent his first seven seasons in Philadelphia with the Phillies. His first full season in the majors, 1964, ranks among the greatest rookie seasons ever according to historians as he led the league in runs (125), triples (13), extra base hits (80), and total bases (352); Allen finished in the top five in batting average (.318), slugging average (.557), hits (201), and doubles (38) and won Rookie of the Year. During his time with the Phillies, Allen made several All-Star teams and led the league in slugging (.632), OPS (1.027), and extra base hits (75) in 1966. Over his 15-year MLB career, Allen posted batting numbers of .292/.378/.534 with 351 home runs, 1,119 RBIs, a .912 OPS, and a 156 OPS+. Allen spent the majority of that time with the Phillies, though he also played for the White Sox, Cardinals, Dodgers, and A's. Allen led his league in OPS four times, slugging percentage three times, on-base percentage and homers two times, and triples, RBIs, runs, and walks once.

Phillies Predicted To Land Two Stars In Huge MLB Trade Deadline Deal
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Philadelphia Phillies desperately need to add to their outfield and bullpen ahead of the trade deadline. While the team is very talented, they fell flat in the postseason last year. Upgrading the outfield and bullpen this week would help prevent that from happening again. Could they kill two birds with one stone? ESPN's Paul Hembekides recently predicted the Phillies would acquire both Minnesota Twins reliever Griffin Jax and utilityman Willi Castro in a massive deadline deal. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JULY 22: Relief pitcher Griffin Jax #22 of the Minnesota Twins celebrates after striking out Will Smith #16 of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the last out of the seventh inning... LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JULY 22: Relief pitcher Griffin Jax #22 of the Minnesota Twins celebrates after striking out Will Smith #16 of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the last out of the seventh inning at Dodger Stadium on July 22, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. More"The Phillies' need for a reliever is well-documented -- Jordan Romano has pitched to a 6.99 ERA, and Jose Alvarado is ineligible for the postseason because of his PED suspension," Hembekides wrote. "Jax's underlying metrics (40.7% chase rate, 39.7% whiff rate, 36.9% strikeout rate) are cartoonishly good and suggest his 3.91 ERA is artificially inflated. "Philadelphia's need for another bat is likewise acute: Since May 1, second baseman Bryson Stott (60 wRC+) and left fielder Max Kepler (72 wRC+) have been among baseball's worst regulars at the plate. Not only has Castro posted an above-average batting line in each of the past three seasons (105 OPS+ over that span), but the utility player has also logged more than 300 innings this season in both the infield and the outfield." Jax and Castro would be a pair of huge additions for the Phillies, but it would likely cost a solid prospect return. However, this would be much cheaper than chasing trades for Ryan Helsley, Jhoan Duran and Luis Robert Jr. The Phillies would have to cut ties with a few prospects, but that's the cost of doing business. If the team wants to win in October, which they're very capable of doing, this is a move that needs to be made. More MLB: David Bednar Trade? Tigers Linked To Deadline Deal For Pirates Closer

Eagles DC Vic Fangio honors his favorite Phillie and Hall of Famer Dick Allen
Before waxing coach talk about his players Tuesday at training camp, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio opened his press conference unveiling a prized recent gift: a Philadelphia Phillies No. 15 Dick Allen jersey. "The guys, I asked them to get me this for me," Fangio said. "And they came through. My all-time favorite Phillie right there. He was their best player when I was young, and he was obviously a great player." Allen was posthumously inducted Sunday into the Baseball Hall of Fame after a far-too-long push by his former teammates, family and friends. The former Phillies and White Sox slugger was called to the Hall in December by the Classic Baseball Era committee. The Phillies retired Allen's No. 15 in 2020, months before he died at the age of 78. Allen was the first Black superstar to play for the Phillies, who were one of the last MLB teams pre-expansion to integrate. Last season, the Phils unveiled a "Pioneers in Pinstripes" display at Citizens Bank Park honoring Allen, John Irving Kennedy — the first Black player to play for the franchise — and other trailblazers in the organization's integration history. Allen finished his MLB career with 351 home runs and a .912 OPS in 15 seasons. He won the NL Rookie of the Year in 1964 with the Phillies. After facing racism for years in Philadelphia, Allen demanded a trade in 1970 and was moved to the St. Louis Cardinals. He spent a year with the Cardinals, then was traded to the Dodgers in 1971 and then to the White Sox in 1972, where he won the AL MVP. He finished his career with a 58.8 bWAR in an era largely defined by pitching dominance. "Dick was a sensitive Black man who refused to be treated as a second-class citizen," Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt, Allen's former teammate in Philadelphia, said during the 2020 ceremony. "He played in front of home fans that were products of that racist era (with) racist teammates and different rules for Whites and Blacks. Fans threw stuff at him, and thus Dick wore a batting helmet throughout the whole game. "They yelled degrading racial slurs," Schmidt added. "They dumped trash in his front yard at his home. In general, he was tormented and it came from all directions. And Dick rebelled." Fangio doesn't shy away from his Philadelphia sports fandom. The Dunmore, Pennsylvania, native is a die-hard Phillies fan — he wore a Phillies hat during his first press conference of training camp last week. In 2017, Fangio told The Athletic that he doesn't "sleep at night until I know whether the Phillies won or lost. Even if they're on the West Coast." On Tuesday, Fangio recalled playing 18 rounds of golf with Hall of Fame pitcher Rich "Goose" Gossage a couple of years ago. Gossage was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008. During his Cooperstown speech, Gossage said Allen was the "greatest player I ever played with." While golfing with Fangio, Gossage, who played with Allen with the White Sox, echoed that sentiment to the Birds' D-coordinator. "We played 18 holes. We rode the same cart, and obviously, I talked baseball with him," Fangio said. "Said [Allen] was the best teammate he had ever had."
