Lira, Mira fall in battle as Mitena's forces attack Sapiro

Two beloved characters from the world of "Encantadia" bid an emotional farewell as Lira (Mikee Quintos) and Mira (Kate Valdez) met their tragic end following an attack by Mitena (Rhian Ramos)'s forces in Sapiro. Thursday's episode of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" showed the continuation of the Mine-a-ves' attack on Encantadia, which Lira and Mira initially tried to fight off. Lira was fatally struck by a sword wielded by Daron (Jon Lucas), while Mira was killed shortly after by Zaur (Gabby Eigenmann). Pirena (Glaiza De Castro) arrived at the scene only to be devastated by the sight of her daughter and niece lying barely conscious on the ground. Mira, though gravely wounded, urged her mother to go to Lira first. In a tearful moment, Lira, ever the spirited warrior, remained lighthearted as she told Pirena that it might be time for her to reunite with her late parents, Amihan (Kylie Padilla) and Ybrahim (Ruru Madrid), in Devas. Moments later, the Retre appeared and carried Lira's soul away as she faded from Pirena's arms. Mira had also already lost her grip on life when Pirena returned to her. A grieving Pirena returned to Hathoria to bring the news to her younger daughter Flamarra (Faith Da Silva) and her husband Azulan (Marx Topacio). She then told them to ready their forces to defend the Palace. Pirena then went to Imaw to tell him of the ongoing assault. Imaw decided to send Banak and Nakba to the mortal world to fetch Danaya (Sanya Lopez). "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." 'Sang'gre' tops online trends list after primetime debut

'Sang'gre' just made a hot debut on primetime! As seen in the post of GMA Network on Facebook, the hashtag Sanggre World Premiere topped the Philippine trending list on X (formerly Twitter) with over 30,000 tweets. 'Number one trending. Avisala eshma, mga Kapuso. Mabuhay ang Encantadia!' the caption read. 'Sang'gre' unleashed its pilot episode on Monday with the four original sang'gres Pirena (Glaiza De Castro), Amihan (Kylie Padilla), Alena (Gabbi Garcia), and Danaya (Sanya Lopez) riding horses towards Lireo and battling against a giant dragon that looked straight from the 'House of Dragon.' Aside from the OG sang'gres, the pilot episode also introduced a new set of characters such as Mitena (Rhian Ramos) the Ice Queen of the Ice Kingdom of Mine-a-ve and her loyal soldiers Zaur (Gabby Eigenmann), Daron (Jon Lucas), and Ednu (Jamie Wilson). 'Sang'gre' is topbilled by Faith Da Silva, Bianca Umali, Angel Guardian, and Kelvin Miranda as the new keepers of the gems of fire, water, air, and earth. It airs weekdays on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA Integrated News

'Sang'gre' delivers epic pilot episode with dragon, giant, prophecy, and a world of ice

"Sang'gre" delivered a pilot episode of epic proportions as we return to the world of "Encantadia!" The opening scene eased us in with the familiar: a flashback to Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya, the four Sang'gres we know and love. They were all riding horses towards Lireo, but the first surprise of the episode soon appeared: a dragon with a well-made CGI that made it look straight out of "House of the Dragon." The four Sang'gres decided to use the powers of the gems of fire, air, water and earth to slay the creature, which poses a threat to their kingdom. Like in the magical girl genre, their armors flashed with the power of their elements before they attacked the dragon and ultimately vanquished it. After the dragon, another magical creature appeared: a giant named Arsus, who had been hunting the people of Mine-a-ve and ruling the land of ice with terror. This was where Mitena, the main antagonist of the series, made her entrance. She challenged Arsus to a fight and single-handedly won using her unique sword. After killing the giant, Mitena declared herself the Kera or queen of Mine-a-ve. The people then began to kneel one by one to accept her as their ruler. Before the episode ended, Bathalumang Cassiopeia appeared before Pirena, Danaya, and Alena at the present time. She warned them of an ominous dream that she had: someone from another land will bring her death. The opening billboard of "Sang'gre" was also a thing of beauty, with a nod to the "Game of Thrones" opening. Landscapes and castles are shown, paired with the somber sound of cellos before Julie Anne San Jose comes in with vocals. It all comes together with the vocals of Bayang Barrios from the original theme of the series. The pilot episode was indeed worth the long wait for the "Encantadia" spinoff, which took two years to produce. "Sang'gre" airs weekdays on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." The legend continues. ???? 'Sang'gre' releases epic 11-minute primer, reveals new characters, deep dives into story

'Sang'gre' has released an epic new primer and it's magical. The 11-minute video presented a deep dive into this new chapter, starting with Mitena's (Rhian Ramos) birth as an Ivtre or 'kaluluwa,' and 'sanggol na hindi na dapat ipinanganak.' After getting abandoned by her parents, Mitena experiences hardships in a prison cell and vows revenge. 'Wawasakin ko ang buong Encantadia!' she said. Meanwhile, in the human world, Terra (Bianca Umali) uses her powers to act as a local hero. She also asks for advice from Pirena (Glaiza De Castro), who tells her that she would be the leader in saving Encantadia. The rest of the new generation of Sang'gres, Flamarra (Faith Da Silva), Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), and Deia (Angel Guardian), also begin training and fighting to save Encantadia from Mitena. In the video, a face-off happened between Mitena and the Sang'gres, saying they are not afraid to use their brilyante and powers to fight each other. The video, which has generated more than 35,000 views on YouTube as of writing, also revealed more cast members. The stars of the 2016 'Encantadia' reboot — Glaiza as Pirena, Gabbi Garcia as Alena, Sanya Lopez as Danaya, and Kylie Padilla as Amihan — are all set to reprise their roles. Manilyn Reynes as Mona, Boboy Garovillo as Javier, Benjie Paras as Kapre, Sherilyn Reyes as Katrina, Therese Malvar as Dina, Vince Maristela as Akiro, and Pam Prinster as Cami, play characters in the human world. Meanwhile, the world of Mine-A-Ve features Gabby Eigenmann as Zaur, Bianca Manalo as Olgana, Jon Lucas as Daron, Jamie Wilson as Ednu, Shuvee Etrata as Veshdita, and Billie Hakenson as Kosshava. Finally, the world of Encantadia is made up of Solenn Heussaff as Cassiopea, Mikee Quintos as Lira, Kate Valdez as Mira, Ysabel Ortega as Armea, Cheska Inigo as Mashna Mayca, Luis Hontiveros as Soldarius, Gab Gueco as Tukman, Kiel Gueco as Mantuk, and Noel Urbano as the voice of Imaw.
