Lewis Hamilton Breaks Down Ferrari SF-25 Performance After Major Austrian GP Upgrade
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed the effects of a new floor upgrade to his Ferrari SF-25 F1 car after the second free practice session at Spielberg. Considering Hamilton's ongoing struggles as he adjusts to the new car this season, Ferrari introduced a new floor for the Austrian Grand Prix, with changes made to the diffuser, floor edge, fences, and body. However, Hamilton was unable to test the floor in Free Practice 1 due to a gearbox failure. In the second practice session, he was the tenth fastest. Hamilton opened up on the gearbox problem before admitting that the car wasn't good enough to battle for the top positions. He told F1: Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Ferrari seeks shade under an umbrella in the pit lane during the F1 Grand Prix of Canada at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on June 15, 2025 in Montreal, Canada. Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Ferrari seeks shade under an umbrella in the pit lane during the F1 Grand Prix of Canada at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on June 15, 2025 in Montreal, Canada."We had a problem in the morning with the gearbox, which was obviously difficult, frustrating for everyone in the garage obviously because the boys did a great job, kept topping it up. "But you go out, you can only do one lap, and so we didn't get the long runs. But I think we recovered okay with it, they did a great job changing the gearbox and getting us ready for FP2. "Charles was six-tenths off, I was close to a second off, so not ideal. But I think there's lots of learnings, so I think we will make some changes. Hopefully we can try and get a little bit closer. We won't be at the front." When asked whether the new floor made any difference, the 40-year-old driver said: "A huge amount of work went on to bring the floor, but as you see it's not necessarily changed our competitiveness. "The car actually doesn't feel bad, we're just a huge chunk off pace-wise, so we need to look into that and that's about it really. We just keep pushing, just trying to dial the car in more and see what we can get, but it's obviously very close in the top 10 so a tenth could make a difference, so we'll work towards trying to gain at least that over the night." Hamilton's teammate Charles Leclerc stressed that the SF-25 needed more performance and called for changes to be made overnight for the qualifying session. He added: "I felt kind of at ease on the track straightaway, but not really at ease with the car and the way the car feels, so there's quite a bit of work to be done for tomorrow. "It doesn't feel like the performance is quite there yet, but hopefully we will put everything together tomorrow and do a step forward, but there's quite a lot of work to be done tonight. "Long run [pace] seems to be more positive as we very often have – we are faster on the race [pace] than we are in Qualifying. In Qualifying, there's a lot of work to be done."

'As of 2024, a total of RM157.73 million in public funds have been recovered as a result of audit follow-ups conducted at the federal and state levels,' the statement noted. Looking ahead, the statement said the WGFA 2025-2028 Work Plan includes long-term initiatives to develop Best Practice Guidelines for audit follow-ups, in collaboration with INTOSAI member countries. The group will also explore the need for specialised training and capacity-building programmes to enhance the quality and impact of follow-up audits in each member country. Malaysia's Auditor-General Datuk Seri Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi presided over the meeting, which gathered 71 participants from 43 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) around the world. In her opening remarks as Chair of the INTOSAI WGFA, Wan Suraya emphasised that Malaysia's leadership of the group reflects the global commitment to a dynamic, structured, and high-impact collaborative audit framework.

Lucas Di Grassi shares his plan for upcoming races: 'We will go full force in these last five stages of championship'
Image credit: Lucas Di Grassi/Instagram Lola Yamaha ABT driver Lucas Di Grassi has finally shared his experience of racing in Tokyo and Shanghai. He stood fifth in the Round 9 race in Tokyo, which was his best performance in the four races held in the two cities. Sharing a video on Instagram, Di Grassi has now spoken about taking part in the two double headers and how he scored 30 points this season while his teammate Zane Maloney is still evolving as a Formula E driver. Lucas Di Grassi on taking part in Formula E races in Tokyo and Shanghai Talking about the two double headers and the Round 8 race, in which he finished 17th, Lucas Di Grassi said in the video, 'Tokyo, the most congested circuit of the year, and Shanghai, the track that everyone knows from Formula 1, with a shortcut, a short version, but a high-speed track. And two interesting results. Tokyo, the first race was in the rain, they canceled qualifying, we ended up washing up at the back, because they used the result of Free Practice 2, anyway, they canceled qualifying, so we started at the back and stayed at the back, the way it was, you can't even see a meter in front. It was a very difficult thing.' Di Grassi also talked in detail about the Round 9 race in Tokyo in which he gained 5th position. He said, 'In race 2, we were very fast in the dry. In qualifying, I was the fastest in the group, even with the Lola Yamaha car that is still under development. So it was the best qualifying of the year in terms of results, P1 in the group, ahead of Nato, ahead of a group that has a well-developed car, so it was very good. In the race, we ended up fighting for the top 10 and ended up finishing in fifth place, getting 10 points in Tokyo. 'It was very important at Yamaha's home, with the Yamaha guys there. Yamaha is increasingly involved in the championship, increasingly involved in our team, putting a lot of resources, especially for the 4th generation, which is next year and the year after. So, it was a very important race,' he added. Lucas Di Grassi called the Shanghai race the opposite of Tokyo. He finished 18th in Round 10 and 9th in the Round 11 race in Shanghai. Lucas Di Grassi on his performance this season and his future plans Lucas Di Grassi is currently in the 16th position in the 2025 Formula E Driver Standings. He summed up his Formula E season with Lola Yamaha ABT so far and said, 'So we've already accumulated 30 points this year with the team. I scored all of the points. Zane Maloney is still learning and evolving. It's very fast, but it still needs to evolve in terms of Formula E experience. So, we have 30 points, six times, seven times more than I had last year with Mahindra. So, the team is evolving. Even though it's the first year, we're moving forward.' Di Grassi is all pepped up for the next five races. Talking about the Jakarta E-Prix and the following races in Berlin and London, he said, 'I have to say that we have been working hard. Next week there will be a test. The week after that, we will travel to Jakarta. So, we will go full force in these last five stages of the championship, trying to get another podium or at least score points, get a lot of points in these next stages. Thanks for the support.'
