Diogo Jota shared a final video of his dream wedding just hours before a horror crash that killed him and his brother. The Liverpool forward shared a touching montage of the day he tied the knot with long-time partner Rute Cardoso just 20 hours before his tragic death alongside brother Andre Silva in Spain. The 28-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to share a heartbreaking video of his wedding day on June 22. The moving clip showed the build-up to the ceremony and the joyous celebrations. Jota, who has three young children with Rute, captioned the post: "A day we will never forget," along with a love heart. The post, Jota's last on the social media platform, currently has over 62,000 likes. Trent Alexander-Arnold: A New Chapter at Real Madrid
It is official; Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool's brightest star in recent times and arguably the most influential defenders – has confirmed his departure from the Anfield after 20 years with the club. It is a sad news for Liverpool fans around the world, but at the same time Madrid fans aka 'Madaristas' are over the moon to welcome their new right-back. Alexander-Arnold has been on Madrid radar for a couple of years and is considered one of the key members of new Galacticos era to take the club forward. The 26-year-old will join Los Blancos on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract in June 2025. This move marks a significant shift in his career, as he seeks new challenges and opportunities. Despite all the efforts from the Reds to retain him, including offering a reportedly record-breaking deal for a full-back, the England international opted to take the new challenge. It is reported that he had made the decision to leave Liverpool in March, but delayed the announcement to avoid distracting from Liverpool's Premier League title campaign. In an emotional statement, he expressed gratitude to the club, teammates, and fans, emphasizing his desire to grow beyond his comfort zone. His move to Real Madrid signifies a fresh chapter in his already illustrious career, which includes a Champions League trophy, Premier League Champions and more. The right-back is set to sign a five-year deal with the Spanish giants reportedly worth £7.5 million annually after tax. His arrival adds to a growing English contingent at the Santiago Bernabéu, joining the likes of Jude Bellingham, Michael Owen, David Beckham and Steve McManaman. His technical prowess and leadership qualities are expected to complement Madrid's tactical setup, enhancing their defensive and offensive dynamics. Alexander-Arnold's ability to snuck up key long passes combined with his speed will be a treat to watch. Moreover, his on-field chemistry with England team-mate Bellingham, linking up with front trio featuring Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo would be mesmerising. A Storied Career His journey as the Reds began just at the age of six, progressing through the youth ranks to become a first-team regular. Over the years, he has amassed 352 appearances, where he scored 23 goals and provided 92 assists and bagged two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, a Champions League title, and a Club World Cup. His exceptional crossing ability, tactical intelligence, and versatility have redefined the role of a modern full-back. Liverpool now faces the challenge of filling the void left by Alexander-Arnold's departure. While the club has expressed interest in potential replacements, the transition may take time as they seek a suitable successor to maintain the team's competitive edge.

Arne Slot's team fell behind to a Dominic Solanke header in the first half but goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo handed the home team a 3-1 lead at half-time. Mohamed Salah made it 4-1 with his 33rd goal of the season before a Destiny Udogie own-goal completed the scoring. Liverpool head coach Slot paid tribute to his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp, as he addressed fans inside Anfield after the game. 'It feels great. I don't think I want to say a lot. The only thing now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen Klopp,' Slot said, before getting fans involved with a chant of: "Jurgen Klopp, la la la la la!" The Champion's drop has landed. — Liverpool FC Retail (@LFCRetail) April 27, 2025 Slot later told Match of the Day: "The work Jurgen and Pep [Lijnders, Klopp's assistant] did - the culture, work-rate, quality - was outstanding. I am 99.9 per cent sure that if I pick up my phone there will be a message from Jurgen. "So many moments in the season the two of us have had contact. I think he showed last season what a wonderful human being he is by introducing me. But what mattered most is the team he left behind that was able to win the trophy." Slot said he never anticipated anything other than victory against Spurs, despite going a goal behind: 'The way we arrived on the bus, everyone was thinking there is no way we were going to lose this game. Conceding first made it difficult, but they always find a way to win. 'Incredibly proud, but not only of the players. Everyone knows what effort they've put in over the last few years. Everyone standing here, you [the fans] should give them a wonderful applause as well. Let's forget that it's the second [title] in 35 years, it's the second in five years.'
