Cartier presents Spring-Summer 2025 Eyewear Collection

Cartier's eyewear icons continue its evolution with a new Spring-Summer 2025 collection that evokes the Maison's jewellery and watchmaking through exceptional craftsmanship and contemporary design. One of the standout features of the season is the introduction of the Clash de Cartier frames, which pay homage to the exquisite techniques of the jewellery collection, and play with the signature studs reminiscent of the hardware elements introduced by Jeanne Toussaint in the 1930s. The temples of these rimless frames are available in classic and innovative shapes, adorned with intricate ribbed mesh motifs that reimagine Clash de Cartier's picot studs and clou carrés as a tactile, three-dimensional embellishment. Reflecting the iconic watch launched in 1904 in honour of the celebrated aviator, the frames feature pilot and navigator styles enhanced by striking chromatic contrasts and distinctive screw details. Crafted from thin sheets of metal, the innovative structures are elevated by bilayer front sections and geometric temple tips that mimic the contours of the watch case, while the dual-tone finishes in gold and platinum lend an additional luminous touch. Influenced by Cartier's first eyewear designs released in the 1980s, the Première selection is a blend of vintage flair and modern edge showcased across four distinct executions featuring emblematic motifs, such as the godron and C de Cartier, and complemented by metal wire cores engraved with the godron pattern, visible through the temples of the transparent acetate variations. This range shifts from lightweight acetate styles, enriched with sleek temple tips inspired by the leather goods collection, to combi constructions and notable options featuring special temples sculpted from materials like horn and wood. You'll also find coloured lenses as well as rimless frames for a stylish look. Image courtesy of Cartier. Image courtesy of Cartier. Rounding up the collection is the Décor C Classique which channels vintage elegance through modern rimless frames fitted with colourful lenses. Available in either gold or platinum finishes, the rectangular and oval models are finished with finely engraved godron motifs along the temples, further complemented by the Décor C detail on the hinges. The new Cartier Spring-Summer 2025 Eyewear Collection is now available at all Cartier boutiques and online at

How Chanel is setting a new standard in designer watches

'Forty years is a very, very short time,' admits Frédéric Grangié. The president of Chanel watches and fine jewellery is considering his brand's history as a watchmaker – which, indeed, has not yet hit the 40-year mark (that'll happen in 2027). Chanel's watches might be young compared with the many brands founded in the 18th century, but for Grangié, it's a point of visible pride. What delights him is the speed of evolution. Back in 1987, Chanel released its first watch, the appropriately named Première. The women's timepiece came infused with a number of the French fashion house's signature design cues. Its case emulated the stopper of Chanel's iconic No.5 perfume, while the bracelet echoed the leather-and-chain strap of its quilted bag. 'A genius design,' reflects Grangié.

Estoril Congress Centre is set to become a cultural space – first initiative is an exhibition

It had already been announced, but now it's official: the Estoril Congress Centre is becoming the Estoril Centre for Culture and Congresses (CCCE). The aim is to broaden the venue's scope, turning it into a space also dedicated to the performing and visual arts – including dance, theatre, music, art and cinema. This turning point is marked with the opening of an exhibition, Première 30, which runs from July 10th to August 31st with free entry. The show brings together works by 17 emerging artists from Portugal and France, and is part of the Première programme, founded 30 years ago by the Centre d'Art Contemporain - Meymac in France, with the goal of promoting new visual artists on the international stage. The French art centre invites newly graduated artists from partner schools each year to take part in a group exhibition. For this 30th edition, young Portuguese artists were also invited, specifically from the Escola Superior de Artes e Design in Caldas da Rainha – Polytechnic of Leiria, and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon. Curated by Caroline Bissière, Jean-Paul Blanchet and Luísa Soares de Oliveira, Première 30 showcases works across a wide range of media – from painting to installation, video to sculpture – highlighting the diversity of expression among these emerging artists. With this transformation, the new CCCE becomes part of the Vila das Artes project, a cultural and artistic network in Estoril that also includes the Estoril Arts Academy (Cruzeiro Building), the Museum of Portuguese Music – Casa Verdades de Faria, the Mirita Casimiro Theatre and the Senhora da Boa Nova Auditorium.

Chanel expands in Latin America with Riviera Maya flagship

The spirit of Chanel has arrived in Cancún. Nestled in the Riviera Maya's La Isla shopping destination, the new 360-square-meter boutique brings together every facet of the house's savoir-faire, offering clients a full sensory journey through its ready-to-wear, fine jewelry, watches, accessories, and interior design collections. Longtime Chanel collaborator Peter Marino designed the boutique's interiors, blending refined craftsmanship with modern sophistication. Inside, clients can explore the brand's complete ready-to-wear universe, including apparel, handbags, shoes, eyewear, costume jewelry, and fragrances. The boutique also features dedicated salons for Chanel's fine watches and high jewelry collections. A dedicated salon inside the boutique highlights Chanel's Première and J12 timepieces, alongside fine jewelry collections such as Coco Crush, N°5, and Camélia. The footwear section combines timeless staples like classic slingbacks with new arrivals from the 2024/25 Métiers d'art collection, displayed against tweed-upholstered walls and bronze-accented finishes. The boutique's design draws directly from Gabrielle Chanel's legendary apartment on rue Cambon in Paris. It balances polished surfaces and rich textiles with contemporary artworks by Priscilla Rattazzi and Eric Haze, creating a refined and immersive environment. Outside, the boutique's façade turns heads with its sculptural blend of black volcanic stone and carved white Thasos marble, mimicking the pleats of fine fabric and lending architectural depth to the space. The Cancún opening forms part of Chanel's broader global growth strategy led by CEO Leena Nair. For 2025, the brand is focusing on expansion across key markets, including China, India, and Mexico. In October 2023, Chanel debuted its first Latin American boutique dedicated exclusively to ready-to-wear at Mexico City's Artz Pedregal shopping center. Initially a temporary space, the location is set to evolve into a permanent boutique.
