Paige Turley suffers 'wardrobe malfunction' at Pride of Scotland Awards

The ex Love Islander suffered a wardrobe mishap just before taking to the red carpet at the Daily Record's Pride of Scotland Awards tonight, June 23. Former Love Island star Paige Turley was victim to a serious wardrobe malfunction at tonight's Pride of Scotland Awards in Glasgow. The Daily Record's award ceremony champions the nation's unsung heroes, and is often referred to as our 'People's Oscars'. Scots TV personality and singer Paige Turley was broadcasting all the gossip from the red carpet (wardrobe malfunctions and all) alongside Stevie Jukes tonight. The annual awards ceremony was then hosted by Elaine C Smith and Sanjeev Kohli, and included an exclusive list of award-winners including Sir Chris Hoy. ‌ This is Paige's fourth year as red carpet host and she said ahead of the event that she was looking forward to teaming up with Stevie to spill all the insider info. The 27-year-old, who co-hosted last year with Love Island's Laura Anderson, said: 'I'm excited about hosting with Stevie as he is a really lovely guy and hopefully we will compliment each other. ‌ 'I'm all about the style and fashion and he can talk to folk about other things. Our job is to put everyone at their ease because the red carpet can be a daunting place, especially for the winners." The TV star also spoke to the Daily Record on the red carpet tonight ahead of her hosting duties, in a gorgeous floor-length strapless black dress decorated with rhinestones. But when asked to do a twirl for the cameras, Paige revealed that a slight mishap with her outfit prevented her from turning around. She said while laughing: "I actually can't [do a twirl], because there's a slight wardrobe malfunction." The star then explained the perfect comedic timing of her dress ripping before the awards. ‌ Paige continued: "So as I'm getting into the taxi on the way to the awards, my boyfriend Kieran kindly noticed that I had a slit on my backside." The star has been loved up with her boyfriend Kieran Tumilowicz, a scaffolder from her hometown in West Lothian, since last June. ‌ She continued: "Somebody is running up the carpet right this minute with a needle and thread to try and sew me back into this dress. "So I would love to give you a whirl but I can't." Paige has attended Scotland 's People's Oscars several times before, and explained that it's the kids' awards that she loves to see the most. ‌ She continued: "Do you know what, I love the kids' winners, they melt my heart. "It's such an honour to be here again and I think everyone is well-deserving, but the kids are the ones that catch my heart especially." Other celebs attending the ceremony tonight include Laura Anderson, Al Murray and Susan Boyle. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Al Murray shares why Scotland gave him 'best week of his life' as he attends Pride of Scotland Awards

Comedian Al Murray took to red carpet at the Daily Record's Pride of Scotland Awards. Comedian Al Murray has revealed his love for Scotland tonight, June 23, on the red carpet of the Daily Record's Pride of Scotland Awards. The comic also shared that the 'best week of his life' took place in Edinburgh when his first daughter was born during the Fringe festival in 1999. The Daily Record's annual Pride of Scotland ceremony takes place tonight, and will shed light on some of our nation's unsung community heroes. The star-studded event is being hosted by Elaine C Smith and Sanjeev Kohli, and includes an exclusive list of award-winners including Sir Chris Hoy. ‌ ‌ Al Murray is just one of the celebrity names on this year's guest list, and he confessed that his appearance at tonight's ceremony was down to his love for the city of Glasgow. The star is no stranger to Scotland, and he is also a frequenter of the Edinburgh Fringe. He told the Daily Record: "This is really brilliant, I got the call a couple of weeks ago, and you know, any excuse to come to Glasgow obviously. "I love coming here, I've come here a lot, and I like playing here, I like the city." But the famed comedian's love for the Scots goes deeper than his fondness for playing gigs. The star also shared that the 'best week of his life' took place at the Edinburgh Fringe back in 1999, when his eldest daughter was born and he won a prestigious comedy award at the festival. Murray explained: "The most amazing thing that's happened to me in Scotland was my eldest daughter was born here. ‌ "She was born at the Edinburgh Festival." Having been born on Scottish soil, the comic then joked that his daughter 'did wonder where her free university education was going to come from'. ‌ However, as she had never lived here, Murray's daughter unfortunately missed out on that particular perk of being a Scot. The comedian added: "She's not got the accent but she was born [in Edinburgh] on a Monday in August in '99, it was the same week I won the Perrier Award, which is the Comedy Award now, that same week. ‌ "And so there's this weird thing where, it was the most amazing week of my life in terms of what was happening at the Fringe, but then you have a kid and realise, 'oh, we've got to put this all into perspective', and also, 'I've got to work now and not just have fun'. "But also, she's 25 now, nearly 26, and it just reminds me of how old I am, and how long ago that all happened." Al Murray also shared that he'll be going on tour in 2026, and will be performing in Scotland in the early days of the new year. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
