WWE champion Gunther admits Goldberg is still 'very intimidating personality' as he gears up for title match
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is next. At least that's what Hall of Famer Goldberg declared as he re-entered the professional wrestling world for one final match. He has had his sights set on "The Ring General" since their interaction at Bad Blood last year. Goldberg will look to avenge some of the comments Gunther made about him and his family at "Saturday Night's Main Event" on July 12. Gunther told Fox News Digital he was looking forward to the opportunity, even as Goldberg has threatened to "beat the f---" out of him. "That is the intensity you expect from Bill Goldberg, that is what he is known for," Gunther said. "He is not somebody that beats around the bush or tells a lengthy story about all the intricate details of why he acts the way he acts. He is straight to the point and that is what made him stand out throughout his whole career. "He is 58 years old now, but I can tell everyone when he is in the ring with me, like in front of me, this man is a very intimidating personality, very tall person, still in fantastic shape, so yeah, I am ready for it, and I am ready to face it. It is going to be very interesting how it plays out in the ring." Gunther teased Goldberg in recent weeks about defeating him in three minutes – something Goldberg was famous for during the dominant days of his reign in World Championship Wrestling. However, whether it's three minutes, 30 minutes or three seconds, Gunther just wants to walk out of Atlanta as the victor. "We shall see. At the end of the day, especially when it is for the title, a win is a win. But I am not too concerned about that," Gunther told Fox News Digital. But it's always been me playing with all the synonymous things or terms out there with Bill Goldberg and that is what made him stand out. "An absolute killer his whole career. He was not known for long classic matches. He is known for being a killer, finished off everyone in a very short time, and he was very successful with it. So let's see it is going to be interesting what he wants to do, what his strategy is for everything, is he going to try to play a bit slower or try to stick to what he always did, so it is going to be interesting to see." With Seth Rollins as the holder of the Money in the Bank contract, which guarantees him a title shot at any place or any time, Gunther's second World Heavyweight Championship reign may not be for long. However, Gunther made clear his mind is on Goldberg going into the premium live event later this month. WWE Night Of Champions 2025 Results As Sami Zayn Defeats Karrion Kross
Sami Zayn has been on a quest to win his first WWE world title. (Credit: Cooper Neil/WWE via Getty ... More Images) At WWE Night of Champions 2025, Karrion Kross finally got his chance in the spotlight, but thanks to Sami Zayn, it didn't go quite as planned. A late addition to the Night of Champions card, Kross vs. Zayn ended exactly how most WWE fans expected: with Zayn standing tall. In Kross's first pay-per-view singles match of 2025, the former NXT Champion fell victim to a Helluva Kick from Zayn, the man he's been playing mind games with over the past several months. Zayn vs. Kross was a last-minute replacement for the scrapped Intercontinental Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and AJ Styles, and it presented Kross with the biggest opportunity he's received on the main roster over the last few years. But with Zayn firmly entrenched as one of WWE's most beloved babyfaces, Kross ran into a brick wall in at WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh despite dominating most of the match. WWE Night of Champions 2025 Results For Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross At WWE Night of Champions, the creative team finally gave Kross some significant TV time for a change, a result of the positive fan reaction to his scathing post-WrestleMania worked shoot promo. Kross, not known to be one of WWE's best in-ring workers, delivered a solid performance, demonating the majority of the bout and showing that he's more than deserving of having a consistent role on Monday Night Raw moving forward. Among the key highlights of Zayn's win over Kross were: WWE Night of Champions finally allowed Kross to get some screen time beyond a brief backstage segment, but let's be honest, his match with Zayn was less about igniting a push for the former NXT Champion and more about giving Zayn a win and the momentum that follows. Zayn remains one of WWE's top stars, and because he's in the midst of a long-term story arc in which he's pursuing his first-ever world title, he needed the resounding victory that he got at Night of Champions. What's Next For Karrion Kross And Sami Zayn After WWE Night of Champions 2025 Win? It's certainly possible that WWE Night of Champions was Kross's last hurrah. Although WWE just released new Kross merchandise amid his rise as a cult favorite of sorts, his WWE contract reportedly expires soon and there has been little talk of WWE re-signing him. With WWE's recent slew of cost-cutting releases, WWE could be squeezing the last bit of juice out of Kross as he potentially exits the company for a second time. That would explain his loss to Zayn, who is much higher on WWE's pecking order and has recently hinted time and time again that he will eventually be a world champion. Given the way Raw's roster is currently constructed, there is a path for Zayn to eventually dethrone current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther and/or fall victim to a cash-in by 'Mr. Money in the Bank' Seth Rollins. Zayn has a lengthy on-screen history with both Gunther and Rollins, and given all of the indications that Zayn's first-ever world title could be near, it makes sense for WWE to capitalize on his recent momentum to catapult him to another world title match. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but Zayn remains one of WWE's most captivating stars and is one of just a few stars with a logical built-in storyline as pursues his first world title. After Zayn beat Kross at WWE Night of Champions 2025, the former WrestleMania main eventer is back on track to go after Gunther or Rollins and pursue that elusive world title.

SiriusXM Launches 24/7 Pro Wrestling Channel on July 1
Pro wrestling has gone from a once-a-week show on SiriusXM to having its own channel. The satellite radio provider announced Thursday that Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7 will take over Channel 156 beginning Tuesday. Channel 156 has been SiriusXM Fight Nation, which has carried pro wrestling, MMA, and boxing shows. 'I couldn't be more excited,' said Dave LaGreca, the longtime host of Busted Open, which started as a one-hour weekly show in 2009. 'I really owe it to our fans. They've really been dedicated and asked for this for years. It's a dream come true to actually see it form. And now it's about to happen.' Busted Open expanded to five days a week in 2018 before going to six days one year later. It will have a live episode seven days a week from 9 a.m.–noon EDT on the new channel featuring LaGreca with wrestling stars Bully Ray, Mark Henry, and Tommy Dreamer. The show has appealed to fans of both WWE and AEW, with video clips of interviews getting plenty of engagement on social media. The channel's daily lineup will also feature programs from Sam Roberts, Peter Rosenberg, Jonathan Coachman, Natalya, and Matt Cardona. Five nights a week there will be a Busted Open After Dark program where fans can call in and react after WWE and AEW shows. 'The great thing is we're not associated with WWE or AEW, so we can give our honest opinion about both products,' said LaGreca, who signed a multi-year extension with SiriusXM. 'The fact that there is a little bit of tension between those two companies and even the fans, it makes it even better for what we're doing on air. The fact that there are more companies that are succeeding at record-breaking levels is even better for our brand and the big reason why we're going 24/7.' Pro wrestling also can claim–at least on satellite radio–for being on a level playing field with professional sports leagues and major college conferences in having a dedicated channel. 'The appetite for wrestling content continues to increase, and we're able to uniquely meet the demand of those fans by delivering a new 24/7 channel just for them,' said Jared Fox, SiriusXM's Senior Vice President for Sports Programming, Content Marketing & Partnerships, and Artist Relations. 'We have a long track record of building dedicated sports channels that fans love.' LaGreca said he is hoping to add more analysts as well as continue to seek input from fans on possible additions or lineup changes.
