‘Survivor 50' spoilers: Jeff Probst on the ‘competitive, dramatic' first challenge and what the 24 players told him at the marooning

On Friday, some juicy Survivor 50 spoilers were revealed from the host and showrunner himself, Jeff Probst. "OK, it is about two hours after we just started Survivor 50," Probst announced on social media. "We had our marooning challenge this morning. So, this is what I know so far." More from GoldDerby 2025 Tony Awards (updating live): Sarah Snook wins Best Actress in a Play for 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' 'We need to be gayer than ever before': 'RuPaul's Drag Race' queens and producers get political at FYC pool party 'Ran' turns 40: How a clerical error and bad blood cost Akira Kurosawa an Oscar The four-time Emmy winner teased, "We have 24 players who had an incredible attitude. Every single person basically said the same thing: 'I want to play hard and I want to have fun.' That was a big theme because a lot of returning players said, 'You know, I've gotten so caught up in the game that I forget that I'm having this incredible adventure, and I want to do both.' If that's true, that bodes really well." Probst added, "The other thing that impressed me is they went full tilt on that first challenge. It's competitive. It's dramatic. It comes down to a close finish. But regardless of who wins, what I saw in all 24 players is pure desire. We have players going back 25 years, and we have players who just played, and it's everything in between, and it was very exciting. It's hard to get me more excited than I already am about Survivor, but this morning did it. I'm looking forward to a really fun season!" CBS The cast of Survivor 50 was unveiled on May 28, about a week before they officially started filming in Mamanuca Islands, Fiji. This is the first all-stars cycle since Season 40's Winners at War in 2020, so fans were understandably excited to see who was returning to the island. NASCAR Confirms Talks With New Automakers Following RAM Trucks Announcement

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Following the announcement of RAM Trucks' entry into NASCAR in 2026, John Probst, NASCAR's executive vice president and chief racing development officer, has confirmed that the sport is in discussions with three other manufacturers for a NASCAR entry in the future. RAM separated from Dodge in 2010, and before that, the brand had celebrated three manufacturer championships in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2001, 2003, and 2004. The team last raced in 2013. There has been no new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in NASCAR since Toyota introduced the Tundra in 2004. Probst shared that, for an OEM, to participate in NASCAR was a "good investment" and revealed that Cup Series newcomers would be allowed to follow an 18-month schedule to prepare and develop their team and cars to race. MoreOpening up on the ongoing discussion with other automakers during the announcement of RAM's NASCAR entry, Probst said: "I don't want to jinx ourselves, but I would say that we are very close with one other. Can't speak for them. Obviously, it's their decision to make. We would love for them to decide to come into NASCAR, and even with that, there's one or two others that we're a little bit earlier in the discussions, but also looking pretty positive. "But we all know that an OEM deciding to come into NASCAR, it's a big commitment for them. It's not something that they take lightly. It requires a lot of research and approval at the highest levels. We're confident right now. We like the position we're in, and think that we're a pretty good investment for an OEM." Could Honda be one of the automakers NASCAR has been in talks with? A report by Sports Business Journal, which anticipated the arrival of RAM Trucks, stated that "Honda is also said to be eyeing a potential entry into NASCAR, though the timing of that is less clear." The entry of RAM would likely encourage manufacturers to consider a NASCAR entry, and push forward those that are already in talks. RAM Trucks CEO Tim Kuniskis confirmed that his team will be all set to race next year at Daytona. He said: "We'll be on track in Daytona in eight months, and the way we're going to do it is unlike anyone else." Kuniskis hinted that RAM's ultimate goal was to race in the Cup Series. He added: "We're looking for a date to the prom right now. So how am I going to get to Cup? That's going to depend on how I get to Truck. So however we get to Truck is going to obviously weigh heavily on 'do I have a path to Cup?' Our intention is not to do a one-hit wonder and go to Truck and not to Cup. That's not our plan."

Ram returning to NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2026

BROOKLYN, Mich. — Vowing to 'shake up the sport,' Ram will return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2026 and seek to pave the way for another brand within the Stellantis company to field cars in the Cup Series someday. This marks the return of the Ram in NASCAR since the manufacturer left the Truck Series after the 2012 season. Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota and Ram will compete in the Truck Series next year. Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram, said that his company plans to impact the sport in a way that creates a larger fan base and more avid fans through its product and at-track experience. 'Our objective is to take the 20 million (avid fans of NASCAR) and turn it into 80 or 100 million,' he said. 'We have a plan. We know how we're going to do it. We think we have a path to get to that. We think people are going to like the way we're doing it because it's going to be fun. Not ready to share all the details with you yet, but I told you that the experiential piece was going to be just a little bit of how we're doing it. It's going to get crazier from there.' Dustin Long, That included a Ram demonstration shortly before the start of Sunday's Cup race on the frontstretch at Michigan International Speedway. Fans watching on Prime saw a high-energy Ram commercial touting its return to NASCAR next year just before the start of the Cup race. 'We're setting the tone right there on how we're coming back to NASCAR and it's going to build from that moment all the way to Daytona (in 2026),' Kuniskis said. Kuniskis anticipates having four to six trucks at Daytona next February. He did not reveal any teams or drivers. Ram is expected to have the Ram body finalized and approved by mid-August after a wind tunnel test. John Probst, NASCAR senior vice president and chief racing development officer, called Ram's entry into the Truck Series a 'big moment' for NASCAR. This marks the first time a manufacturer has joined the Truck Series since Toyota did with the 2004 season. 'When we work with our (manufacturers), they have made it loud and clear that they would welcome a new (manufacturer) into our sport with open arms,' Probst said. 'They've been very helpful in that process with Ram and some of the other manufacturers we talk to.' But what about Cup? Ram is a Truck brand. 'We have cars in our company,' Kuniskis said, alluding to the Stellantis, which features 14 iconic automotive brands, including Dodge and Chrysler. 'We're excited that they have interest in the Cup Series,' Probst said of Stellantis. The process for any new Cup manufacturer features an 18-month submission process for its vehicle, engine and other parts, meaning the earliest a new manufacturer could join Cup would be 2027. Probst also hinted at additional interest from manufacturers in the Cup Series. 'I don't want to jinx ourselves, but I would say we are very close with one other (manufacturer),' Probst said. 'Can't speak for them. Obviously, it's their decision to make. We would love for them to decide to come into NASCAR. 'Even with that, there's one or two others that we're a little bit earlier in the discussions but also looking pretty positive, but we all know that a (manufacturer) deciding to come into NASCAR, it's a big commitment for them. It's not something that they take lightly. It requires a lot of research and approval at the highest levels. We're confident right now. We like the position we're in and think that we're a pretty good investment for a (manufacturer).'

Man found dead at church youth camp south of Midway

A 38-year-old youth leader was found dead in a trailer at the Chalet Campground in the Wasatch Mountain State Park on Thursday. The man had slept in an enclosed trailer Wednesday evening and was found dead by other leaders the next morning, said Wasatch County Undersheriff Josh Probst. The man had lit some charcoal in a Dutch oven and it was burning inside the trailer as a heat source, Probst said, adding that investigators suspect carbon monoxide poisoning. He said an autopsy will determine the official cause of death. He was participating in a youth camp for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Probst said. The sheriff's office has not yet released the man's name.
