Rohit Sharma backs logistics startup Prozo amid India's supply chain boom

Indian cricket icon Rohit Sharma has invested in Prozo , a full-stack supply chain company supporting over 150 fast-growing and enterprise brands across India. The move underscores the increasing importance of robust, technology-driven logistics in powering the country's evolving consumer economy. Prozo, which integrates warehousing, freight, and fulfilment through a single tech-enabled platform, enables businesses to scale with speed, reliability and control. Represented exclusively by RISE Worldwide, Sharma's investment highlights the rising synergy between sports and entrepreneurial ecosystems, especially those built on performance and precision. According to a Deloitte India report, the digital commerce market in India is set to surpass $350 billion by 2030, driven by a boom in direct-to-consumer brands, omnichannel retail, and rapid logistics digitisation. In such a competitive environment, supply chains have become crucial to delivering seamless customer experiences and ensuring business continuity. 'In sport and in business, consistent performance is never accidental. It comes from having a system that delivers day in and day out,' said Sharma. 'That is what Prozo is building for Indian brands. Their approach combines scale, technology and operational excellence in a way that directly supports long-term growth. I see Prozo as a key player in shaping the future of commerce in India, and I am excited to join in that journey.' Founded in 2016 by Dr Ashvini Jakhar — a former Naval doctor and McKinsey consultant — Prozo operates 42 warehouses spanning 2.2 million square feet, delivering to over 24,000 pin codes across the country. With a revenue run-rate of ?250 crore, the company has secured $20 million in funding, backed by investors including Sixth Sense Ventures and Jafco Asia. Welcoming Sharma onboard, Jakhar said, 'We are very happy to have Rohit Sharma on board as an investor. Rohit's career reflects everything we believe great supply chains should represent — discipline, endurance and the ability to show up under pressure. His support reinforces our commitment to building infrastructure that is dependable and future-ready.' Prozo's clientele includes prominent digital-first and legacy brands such as The Minimalist, Neemans, Beardo, Bewakoof, Traya, Snitch, Powerlook, and Aramya, as well as institutions like PhonePe, McGraw-Hill, and Tata Consumer Brands. The company's proprietary Control Tower technology and flexible pay-per-use model empower brands to scale efficiently across B2B, B2C and D2C channels. Looking ahead, Prozo aims to expand its warehousing footprint by 4-5 times over the next five years. It also plans to deepen investments in its Control Tower platform to improve real-time visibility, predictive analytics and automation capabilities.
