Vijay Sethupathi is all set to collaborate with filmmaker Puri Jagannadh in an exciting pan-India project next. Acronymed as PuriSethupathi for the time being, the movie also stars Tabu and Samyuktha in key roles besides the Maharaja star. After announcing the stellar star cast, the makers have now finally begun shooting for the project. Vijay Sethupathi begins shooting for Puri Jagannadh's film Taking to Twitter, Puri Jagannadh dropped glimpses from the sets as his film with Vijay Sethupathi finally went on floors. The actor can be spotted posing for a group picture with the rest of the cast, director and producers of the movie. Sharing the pictures, the filmmaker stressed that the first schedule was going to take place in Hyderabad where only key dialogue portions between Vijay and Samyuktha will be filmed first. He wrote, 'AND IT BEGINS. When Vijay revealed why he chose to work with Puri Jagannadh In a previous interview with ETimes, Vijay Sethupathi opened up about why he chose to work with a filmmaker like Puri Jagannadh whose previous film was a failure at the box office. Sharing his viewpoint, the actor explained that while choosing a project, he did not consider the result of the previous movie. He takes up a project only if he likes the script and the story. Vijay said, 'I do not consider the result of previous movies. If I like the story, I decide to do the film. Puri narrated a story to me that I liked. I have not done a film like this in the past, and I always want to pick new stories so that I don't repeat myself.' Vijay Sethupathi's film front Well, his next film with Puri Jagannadh comes after the massive success of his last ventures like Maharaja and Ace, which did phenomenally well at the box office. Moving on, besides PuriSethupathi, the superstar also has a film called Thalaivan Thalaivii, co-starring Nithya Menen. He also has Mysskin-directed Train in the pipeline.

Samyuktha joins Vijay Sethupathi, Puri Jagannadh's next project
New Delhi [India], June 18 (ANI): Actress Samyuktha has joined the cast of Puri Jagannadh's upcoming directorial film. The movie stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. The makers have not revealed the title of the film yet. Taking to his Instagram handle, director Jagannadh announced the arrival of Samyuktha in his upcoming film. The film is being produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under their banner, Puri Connects. He wrote, 'Grace in her stride. Fire in her eyes. Welcoming the stunning @iamsamyuktha_ on board into the electrifying world of #PuriSethupathi.' The untitled Puri-Sethupathi next big project also stars Bollywood actress Tabu in the lead role. The makers announced her arrival by sharing the actress's photo with the director and producer of the film. Taking to their Instagram handle, the makers wrote, 'She's electric. She's explosive. She's the Tabu. Proudly welcoming the gem of Indian cinema, actress Tabu, on board for a role as dynamic as her presence in #PuriSethupathi.' More details about Tabu's role have yet to be revealed. Fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates on the actress's role in the movie. Meanwhile, Tabu will next be seen in the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. Bhooth Bangla marks the reunion of Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar after a long gap. The duo has previously given blockbuster films such as Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, Garam Masala, De Dana Dan, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, among others. The film will also see a reunion of Akshay and Tabu after 25 years. The two were last seen together in Hera Pheri. Actress Samyuktha has officially joined the cast as the female lead. Actress excited to join star-studded cast According to a report by Telugu Cinema, Samyuktha is said to be quite excited about her role in the upcoming film. Sources close to the production reveal that the actress is impressed with the story and her character arc, and is eager to dive into shoot mode as the team prepares to go on floors. Samyuktha has been part of large-scale projects which include 'Akhanda 2' and 'Swayambhu'. The movie's possible titles The movie is currently being named '#PuriSethupathi' and it's yet to be officially titled. There are some names which are being considered for the film, they include 'Bhavati Bhiksham Dehi' and 'Beggar'. With the given rumoured title to be suggested, there is speculation that Vijay Sethupathi might be playing the role of a beggar in this gritty, potentially intense drama. The cast also includes some of the biggest names from the film fraternity. Bollywood's highly rated actress Tabu is said to be playing a key role in the film and she is also joined by Kannada actor Duniya Vijay Kumar. Speaking of the film's production status, the makers recently wrapped up a detailed location recce across Hyderabad and Chennai. After locking in multiple shoot locations, the crew is now gearing up to begin principal photography. The regular shoot is expected to commence in the last week of June.

Puri Connects , the production firm of director Puri Jagannadh and actress Charmme Kaur -- which is producing the film, on Monday took to its X timeline to welcome the Kannada star. Team #PuriSethupathi proudly welcomes the sandalwood dynamo, Actor #VijayKumar @OfficialViji on-board for an electrifying role that will leave everyone spellbound. Interestingly, the makers had got fans to guess who the next actor to come onboard would be before making the actual announcement. At around noon on Monday, the production house tweeted, "Vijay Sethupathi, ... Next??? Keep guessing the next POWERHOUSE PERFORMER joining this MASTERPIECE PROJECT #PuriSethupathi Next On-Board Announcement at 4 PM Today." At 4 pm, they announced Duniya Vijay's name. It may be recalled that the unit has already welcomed actress Tabu to the project. Sources in the know say that Tabu is set to essay a pivotal role in the film. The actress, who is known for her selective roles, was immediately drawn to the character and the compelling storyline, which led her to give her consent to be a part of this project. Watch!
