First Look Photo From AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH Featuring Quaritch and Spider — GeekTyrant

A first look photo has been released from the upcoming sequel, Avatar: Fire and Ash . The picture features Spider (Jack Champion), who in The Way of Water got the family reunion he never wished for when his father, Stephen Lang's Miles Quaritch, returned in 'recombinant' Na'vi form, wreaking havoc on Jake (Jake Worthington) and Neytiri's (Zoe Saldaña) clan – all leading to the death of our heroes' eldest son, Neteyam. Clearly, this puts Spider in quite the predicament going forward – caught between his reborn biological dad, and the family that raised him. As reported in Empire, Spider's dynamic with Quaritch 2.0 is set to become even more twisted in Avatar: Fire And Ash – seen together above in a world-exclusive still from the upcoming threequel. 'They reconnect out of necessity,' Stephen Lang, aka Slang, tells Empire . 'Their connection is not a solo connection. There are times when everybody comes together on some level. But, when enemies cooperate, you can be sure betrayal is just around the corner.' "Spider confuses Quaritch," the actor continues. "But Quaritch wants clarity. There is something about Spider that Quaritch really loves — not a word we associate with him. I think respect and admiration really develop in spades, as well as animosity and manipulation. The relationship will deepen — for better or worse." Jack Champion addressed this complicated dynamic last month when he said, "[Spider] feels very conflicted. His 'dad' is reborn into this Na'vi form and still as evil as ever, if not more so, and he still felt he had to save him. You see that guilt play out, and the evolution of Spider trying to figure out where he belongs." This third installment brings back Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver, as the saga returns to Pandora. This time, the story will introduce the Ash People, a new Na'vi faction tied to the planet's volcanic regions. It looks like a darker, more intense chapter in the Avatar universe. Cameron previously said: 'You'll see a lot more Pandora that you never saw before. It's an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it's also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We're going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.' He also shared: 'I've shown it to a few selected people and the feedback has been it's definitely the most emotional and maybe the best of the three so far.' Avatar: Fire and Ash is set to hit theaters on December 19th. Check out the full first look photo above.

New ‘Avatar: Fire & Ash' image teases tense reunion between Sully family and Fire-Born clan

A newly released image from Avatar: Fire and Ash teases a tense moment between two of the franchise's most pivotal characters. Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), last seen surviving the events of Avatar: The Way of Water, may still have a few tricks up his sleeve as he knows the Sully family is likely to come after him for the death of Neteyam (Jamie Flatters). In the new image, Quaritch is seen alongside Spider (Jack Champion), hinting at their complicated dynamic in the upcoming film. Father and son: Complicated loyalties The relationship between Quaritch and Spider remains one of the most complex in the Avatar saga. As revealed in The Way of Water, Spider is the biological son of the original Quaritch. Though father and son are connected by blood, Spider was raised by Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and his allies. By the end of the second film, Spider had returned to his adoptive family after briefly aligning with the cloned Quaritch. Will Fire and Ash give them a chance to reconnect—or will their paths continue to diverge? Audiences will find out when the film hits theaters on December 19. Grief and new beginnings for the Sully family Avatar: Fire and Ash picks up as Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) grapple with the loss of their son, Neteyam. The story will introduce a new Na'vi clan known as the Ash People, adding further depth to the richly layered world of Pandora. With secrets still lurking beneath Pandora's surface, Lo'ak (Britain Dalton), Kiri (Sigourney Weaver), and the rest of the Sully family must summon the courage to face powerful new threats. A powerhouse cast returns for Avatar: Fire and Ash James Cameron has assembled a stellar cast to bring the world of Pandora to life once again. Kate Winslet reprises her role as Ronal, a key figure in the Metkayina clan. Having previously worked with Cameron on Titanic, Winslet is poised to take on another major role in a film expected to dominate the global box office. Also joining the cast is Harry Potter alum David Thewlis, whose character Peylak remains shrouded in mystery. Avatar: Fire and Ash opens in theaters December 19, 2025.
