Bengals QB Joe Burrow has the wildest fascination with fossils
Everyone knows Joe Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks alive. But very few would've known one of Burrow's favorite hobbies if not for what Netflix's Quarterbacks series revealed about the Cincinnati Bengals superstar QB. Advertisement Burrow loves fossils. "When aren't fossils on your mind?" Burrow asks rhetorically. "They go back millions of years. That's sick." There Burrow is, talking about specific fossil names and the scientific evidence they provide. MORE: How good was LeBron at football? NBA legend would have been 'one of the best' in NFL Burrow is a fossil nerd at heart. He also dissects defenses and throws dimes like almost no one else. It's not obvious whether there has ever been an NFL quarterback before who was a fossil nut. Burrow appears glad to uphold that banner. MORE NFL NEWS:

2025 Fantasy Football Rankings — Justin Boone's Top Quarterbacks
Yahoo Sports' Justin Boone won the FantasyPros Most Accurate Expert Award in 2019 and has eight top-10 finishes in the competition. Follow the links below to see his latest redraft rankings at every position. Advertisement Aaron Rodgers, Steelers - While Rodgers' arrival in Pittsburgh is good news for DK Metcalf's outlook, the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer isn't a weekly fantasy option any longer. Don't get nostalgic during your drafts, Rodgers will only be a bye-week streamer in Arthur Smith's offense. Daniel Jones/Anthony Richardson, Colts - Several beat writers believe Jones has taken a sizable lead over Richardson in Indy's QB competition, after the latter missed OTAs due to a shoulder issue. Richardson still has the higher fantasy ceiling between the two, but he'll need to rally in training camp if he's going to be the Week 1 starter. Both passers will likely see the field this year, but I've moved Jones ahead of Richardson with the expectation he'll get the first crack at the job. Fan-Favorite 'Quarterback' Series Brings Back Kirk Cousins, and First Timer Joe Burrow
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Netflix has brought back the smash hit, "Quarterback" series, which takes a behind-the-scenes and deeper look at some of the NFL's biggest names at the position. The first season featured Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings' Kirk Cousins, and Atlanta Falcons' Marcus Mariota. Netflix Now, the second season is coming, which not only brings back Cousins but will feature two newcomers in Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow and Detroit Lions' Jared Goff. The new trailer showcases Burrow talking about longevity in his career, though he only has five years under his belt, the idea of making it to 10 years seems like it'll happen too fast. The trailer then pivots to Goff talking about being a member of the Lions. He also reveals more personal information about his exit from the Los Angeles Rams. Netflix More news: Jets' Justin Fields Receives Unfortunate Prediction Ahead of Training Camp Goff also takes a shot at Tom Brady, saying, "Too bad, Tom, you're retired." Why he says that has not been revealed, but it's sure to be a big talking point. What makes this season interesting is how it will follow Cousins. The former Vikings starter signed with the Falcons to become the starter, but things have gotten complicated since then. There has been plenty of drama surrounding Cousins and his situation on the Falcons team. He was replaced by Michael Penix in 2024 after throwing 16 interceptions. Cousins was apparently willing to waive his no-trade clause to be moved to another team, but that was not the case. The Falcons made it known they would move forward with the former starter as the backup for Penix in 2025. The "Quarterback" series might highlight the 2024 season, while giving fans a deeper look at what Cousins has been dealing with since the conclusion of the 2024 season. Cousins being a focal point for the series is certainly understood, and the Netflix series also landed two of the biggest quarterbacks in Burrow and Goff. Burrow and Goff are not only massively popular to their respective teams and fan bases, but they are also two of the most popular quarterbacks in the entire league. The series taking a deeper look at the pair, is certainly going to make for some good TV. Browns' Myles Garrett Impressed by Rookie QB
Browns' Myles Garrett Impressed by Rookie QB originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Cleveland Browns have five quarterbacks on their roster, two of which are rookies. Those first-year guys are hoping to prove themselves in mandatory minicamp. Advertisement In a recent interview with reporters, Browns superstar Myles Garrett talked about his experience going against Dillon Gabriel, one of the team's rookies, in camp, and he had some praise for young QB. "I only really saw Dillon today as far as getting reps in team. He looks composed. He's running the offense pretty well. His eyes got pretty big when I got free and I was face up on him," Garrett said. "But all of them look pretty calm... not doing too much right now, and they'll have time to continue to display their talents. It's just one day at a time." Garrett has not had the chance to go up against Shedeur Sanders yet, who is one of the rookies that has been the most talked about in the league. But Gabriel has already impressed one of the best defensive players in the NFL. It has not yet been decided who the Browns' starting quarterback will be in Week 1 of the regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals, so the job is up for grabs. Gabriel and Sanders will be hoping to prove that one of them can be the future field general of the Browns. Advertisement Cleveland has only made the playoffs twice in the last 20 years, so the team's young quarterbacks will be looking to help turn the team's luck around.
