'I didn't want to leave Feyenoord for just any team'
Burnley's summer signing Quilindschy Hartman says it felt like he was "cheating" on Feyenoord when he agreed his move to Turf Moor, but he thought he needed a "new environment" after 15 years at the Eredivisie 23-year-old defender has been speaking about moving to east Lancashire, the club's ethos, why the Premier League is on a par with playing in the Champions League and why he would not have made the move if unable to bring his dog with him."Scott Parker told me this is a special team in the talks we had before me signing," Hartman told BBC Radio Lancashire's Dan Jewell. "When I came in on my first day, I could immediately see it."I can see this is a good group with nice people. Everyone is talking to each other, there are no groups and you have no specific place at dinner, so every time you are coming into contact with a different person."If you have a good connection off the pitch then it is going to be easier to work for each other on the pitch. Feyenoord confirm Quilindschy Hartman departure to Burnley
Feyenoord have confirmed that Quilindschy Hartman will be joining Burnley this summer. The 23-year-old released a statement via the Feyenoord website, having been with the club since he was nine years old. Hartman said 'Playing for Feyenoord, that's what I wanted as a little boy and I'm proud that I was able to wear this shirt so early, up to the first team and prizes'. Hartman then went on to talk about his desire to play in the Premier League and the chance to move to Burnley means he is making another dream come true. The 23-year-old left-back, who has been capped at senior level by the Dutch national team, only made 12 appearances for the side last season, creating one assist. The fee agreed between the two sides is reported to have been around €12m. During his time with Feyenoord, Hartman won both the Eredivisie title and the KNVB cup. He leaves Feyenoord and Dutch football having made 83 appearances for the senior side, scoring two goals and providing 12 assists. Advertisement Hartman is the first of a number of players expected to leave, or to have already left, Feyenoord this summer. Clarets sign defender Hartman from Feyenoord
Burnley have signed full-back Quilindschy Hartman on a four-year deal from Eredivisie side Feyenoord. The 23-year-old, who is Scott Parker's second signing of the summer, makes the switch having played more than 80 top-flight games in the Netherlands. "From the first moment I spoke to the coach, I was really excited and impressed and I would say he was the biggest influence in me coming here. "I'm so glad the deal is now done, I'm really proud to be here and I can't wait to start next week." Burnley have signed Netherlands left-back Quilindschy Hartman from Feyenoord on a four-year deal. The 23-year-old defender is the second arrival of the summer, following goalkeeper Max Weiss, at the Clarets, who won promotion back to the Premier League for next season by finishing second in the Championship."It's a really special feeling of hunger and excitement," said Hartman."From the first moment I spoke to the coach [Scott Parker], I was really excited and impressed and I would say he was the biggest influence in me coming here."Hartman joined the Feyenoord academy in 2010 before progressing through the ranks and making his first-team debut in August helped the club win the Eredivisie title in 2022-23 under current Liverpool manager Arne Slot and made his international debut in October 2023 when he scored in a 2-1 defeat by France.
