STP not functional, FIR filed against AOA
Noida: Noida Authority has filed a police complaint against the apartment welfare association (AOA) of Supertech Cape Town in Sector 74 for dumping untreated sewage in the drain running through the sector. According to National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines, highrise societies must have functional sewage treatment plants (STPs) on the premises. RP Singh, general manager (Jal), Noida Authority, said that inspections were conducted at the society on Friday, and it was found that the STP was not working as per the prescribed standard. This is affecting the underground water and also the public health of local residents. This is also affecting the structure of the condominium," Singh said. "The developer started giving possession to home buyers in this society from 2015. Nearly 4,419 people got completion certificates in this society. The AOA was formed in 2019. Road caves in near condo, Noida says ‘pipeline leak'
Noida: A portion of the road caved in near Meghdootam Park in Sector 50 on Monday evening, creating a deep manhole around five metres in diameter and raising safety concerns among residents here. Residents in the area and nearby sectors blamed lack of maintenace for the incident. Meanwhile, a Noida Authority official told TOI that "a pipeline leak has led to the collapse". The traffic movement has been restricted around the affected area — near F-9, close to Overseas Apartment — and officials said that the repair work that has begun was "expected to take two days". Noida Authority's general manager (jal) RP Singh also said that the road will be repaired in two days. A pipeline from the nearby sewage treatment plant runs beneath the affected road and the cave-in was "caused by leakage from the rusted and aging pipe", the Noida Authority official said. General secretary of RWA for Sector 50 (F Block) Rajesh Singh said the area comprises 20 societies with around 7,000 flats, ranging from low-rise to highrise buildings up to 22 floors. Water shortage continues in Noida, relief expected by Friday
1 2 3 Noida: The ongoing water crisis in Noida entered its fourth day on Thursday, with several sectors grappling with dry taps following the shutdown of the Ganga water supply due to pipeline repairs. Officials have said the supply will likely resume by Friday. Water supply has been disrupted in Sectors 105, 31, 71, 119 and nearby areas, affecting thousands of residents. In Sector 105 and its adjoining localities such as Sector 108, HIG, and Judge Colony, around 10,000 people are facing an acute drinking water shortage. "The supply of drinking water has been disrupted since June 9 due to the Ganga water shutdown by the Noida Authority. Residents are forced to buy potable water from outside, and water motors have been damaged due to dry pipelines," said Divya Krishnatreya, RWA president of Sector 105.
