Bolton actor's next starring role after ITV's Code of Silence
Bolton actor Andrew Buchan who is currently starring in the gripping, groundbreaking thriller Code of Silence, is currently filming for the new series of the captivating BBC series The Capture. ITV's Code of Silence, which premiered yesterday with all episodes available on ITVX, which is winning rave reviews. Andrew, a former Rivington and Blackrod High School pupil who grew up in Lostock, has been announced as one of the stars of series 3 of BBC surveillance thriller The Capture, starring Holliday Grainger. Rachel has become the acting head of the Counter Terrorism Command (SO15), amid an inquiry into the unlawful use of Correction – the UK intelligence service's clandestine video manipulation programme which she exposed in series two. She is determined to regain the public's trust in surveillance technology when a well co-ordinated act of terror that affects the British establishment leaves behind just one witness. The more Carey investigates, the deeper she is drawn into an unfolding geopolitical crisis that infects the British political establishment, the security services, and the media. Grainger, 37, said: 'I'm thrilled to be joining The Capture team once more for series three. 'Ben Chanan's scripts are as electrifying as ever and I'm excited to be stepping back into 'Commander' Rachel Carey's world. (Spoiler alert!)' Black Doves star Andrew will star alongside Game Of Thrones actor Joe Dempsie, Kaos actor Killian Scott, Gangs Of London actress Amanda Drew, and Highlander's Hugh Quarshie. Returning cast members include Indira Varma as BBC Newsnight presenter Khadija Khan, Ben Miles as Danny Hart, and Nigel Lindsay as DSI Tom Kendricks. Chanan said: 'Previous seasons have seen Holliday's Rachel Carey investigate others as their lives fall apart. Most of all, I am excited that Series 3 puts Carey at the heart of the conspiracy.' Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama, said: 'The Capture's irresistible blend of timely, state-of-the-nation commentary with edge-of-your-seat thrills has made it a big hit with millions of viewers, and we're so pleased to announce its return to the BBC. 'Ben's scripts for series three will dazzle and terrify you in equal measure.' The first series followed a former British soldier trying to clear his name of a crime he claimed he did not commit. While investigating the case, DI Carey uncovered a wider complex conspiracy. In series two Grainger's character broadcast a live deepfake of a government minister to the nation, exposing the UK intelligence service's clandestine video manipulation programme Correction. The Capture is produced by Heyday Television for BBC iPlayer and BBC One. Filming is taking place in the south east of England.

BBC's near-perfect hit gets unexpected renewal after landing on Netflix – with Broadchurch star added
The BBC has announced season 3 of The Capture with new and returning cast members. The surveillance thriller premiered in 2019 with a second run in 2022, and has a near-perfect 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Following the addition of the first two seasons to Netflix in January, a third season has officially been confirmed on the BBC. Holliday Grainger as back as detective Rachel Carey, with Ben Miles, Indira Varma, Lia Williams, Ginny Holder and Ron Perlman among the other cast members also making their return. Joining them for season 3 are Broadchurch's Andrew Buchan, as well as Kaos' Killian Scott, Game of Thrones' Joe Dempsie, Holby City's Hugh Quarshie, and Gangs of London's Amanda Drew. Following the events of season 2, Rachel has become the acting head of So15 and is on a mission to restore public faith in surveillance camera technology through Operation Veritas. Binghamton Softball's Rachel Carey Earns America East Rookie of the Week
VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Bearcats softball team had their home opener this past weekend and swept UAlbany, and in doing so, freshman designated player Rachel Carey once against earned America East Rookie of the Week. Carey batted 5-6 in the sweep, notching a homer and a pair of extra-base hits with 5 RBIs. She is currently tied in the conference in homeruns, and third in RBIs. Three Bearcats earn America East Weekly Awards
VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Three Binghamton Bearcats Spring athletes have earned weekly honors in their respective sports. Rachel Carey – Binghamton SoftballRookie of the Week Rachel Carey has been named Rookie of the Week. It's the freshman's first time in her young career. In the James Madison Invitational, she batted .412, hitting 3 homers and bringing in 9 RBI's across the 5 games. The Bearcats are next in Mercer for a 3-game series on Friday. Matt Bolton – Binghamton BaseballRookie of the Week Matt Bolton has earned Rookie of the Week, and it's his first. He batted .500 in the weekend series against Missouri that the Bearcats split, with at least 2 hits in each game. He also made a game saving highlight reel catch in the bottom of the 10th in a 13-inning win against the Tigers that kept them in it. The Bearcats host Holy Cross Friday for a weekend series. Matthew Rincon – Binghamton Men's LacrosseDefensive Player of the Week Matthew Rincon has been named the America East Defensive Player of the Week. It's the first time in his career he has earned a weekly accolade. In the junior's two previous games, he collected 11 ground balls and caused 4 turnovers. Binghamton Softball splits Friday games at James Madison Invitational
HARRISONBURG, VA. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Binghamton Bearcats Softball team is competing in the James Madison Invitational. They kicked off their Invite with two games on Friday against Fordham and the host Dukes. Against the Rams, the Bearcats would fall behind 7-1 heading into the 5th inning, but a 2-run 5th and 5-run 6th helped Binghamton to its largest comeback in the program's 24-year NCAA Division-I history. It was helped in-part by a Rachel Carey grand slam. They would then face the hosts, the James Madison Dukes. The team would fall in a shutout 5-inning mercy loss, 8-0.
