Wisconsin basketball to play in-state opponent for first time since 2019

🚨 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 🚨Too big of a game to wait on this one!The Panthers will head to Madison to take on the Badgers for the first time in 5⃣ years in December!Panthers And Badgers Set To Meet December 30 Wisconsin basketball will tip off against the UW-Milwaukee Panthers for the first time since the 2019-20 season on Dec. 30, 2025, at the Kohl Center. UW's scheduled clash against UW-Milwaukee marks the latest nonconference announcement for the program's 2025-26 slate. The Badgers will start their season in late October with an exhibition against Oklahoma in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, for a showdown against future No. 1 draft pick AJ Dybantsa and the BYU Cougars in mid-November. Then, Greg Gard's platoon will head to San Diego, California, for the Rady Children's Invitational in late November for games against Providence and TCU or Florida ahead of its Dec. 6 I-94 bout vs. Marquette Golden Eagles in Madison. UW will conclude its non-Big Ten slate with mid-December contest against Villanova at the Fiserv Forum prior to the Dec. 30 showdown vs. Milwaukee. "We are grateful to the Wisconsin program and to Coach Gard for agreeing to play this game," Milwaukee head coach Bart Lundy told "This contest will be terrific for Panther fans and for all basketball fans in the state of Wisconsin. We are excited to renew the in-state rivalry and wish that there were more of these games for the state and for each fanbase. We are certainly looking forward to competing in Madison in December." The Dec. 30 match marks the first time the two programs will face one another since UW's 83-64 victory over the Panthers on Dec. 21, 2019. The Badgers own a 9-1 overall record against Milwaukee dating back to the 2008-09 regular season. The two first tipped off during the 1992-93 campaign. The Panthers finished with a 21-11 overall mark during the 2024-25 season in their third year under Lundy. Milwaukee ranked No. 141 in KenPom, completing its third consecutive season with at least 20 victories. By the time it faces the Panthers, Wisconsin's starting lineup, captained by returning starters John Blackwell and Nolan Winter, plus transfers Nick Boyd, Andrew Rohde and Austin Rapp, will be in full force. UW's five-man unit figures to become one of the more formidable ensembles in the Big Ten, and it will look to build off an impressive 27-10 output a season ago. Wisconsin basketball finalizes another notable nonconference opponent

Wisconsin basketball finalizes another notable nonconference opponent Wisconsin basketball will begin the Rady Children's Invitational against the Providence Friars, according to CBSSports' Jon Rothstein. The Badgers are part of a four-team field at the 2025 'Feast Week' event in San Diego, California, along with Providence, TCU and defending national champion Florida. The tournament will take place on Nov. 27 and 28, with the semifinal games on the 27th and the championship and third place game on the 28th. Wisconsin will face a Providence team that went 12-20 (6-14 Big East) in 2024-25 and finished ranked No. 96 in KenPom. The program has struggled in its first two years under Kim English, following an impressive 12-year run under Ed Cooley. However, CBSSports believes it could be primed for a resurgent 2025-26 campaign after a transfer-heavy offseason. The Badgers' matchups against Providence and either TCU or Florida, depending on the semifinal results, add to a loaded nonconference schedule. The team will begin with an exhibition against Oklahoma in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in late October. It will then travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, in mid-November for a high-profile rematch against BYU, a projected national title contender entering the season. That game precedes the Rady Children's Invitational, as well as the annual matchup against in-state rival Marquette (date is to-be-determined) and a mid-December contest against Villanova at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Wisconsin's full nonconference schedule has yet to be finalized. But the team already has five high-profile contests, not including the exhibition against the Sooners. Wisconsin's new-look starting lineup, led by returning starters John Blackwell and Nolan Winter, plus high-profile transfer additions Nick Boyd, Andrew Rohde and Austin Rapp, will be tested from the first game of the season. The team's nonconference schedule should accurately preview what to expect when Big Ten play picks up in January 2026. If the team performs against the listed gauntlet nonconference slate like it did against then-No. 9 Arizona to start the 2024-25 season, a win that was led by a dominant 41 points from future All-American wing John Tonje, Badgers fans could brace for a special season. Florida basketball finalizing matchup with in-state rival Miami Hurricanes in November

Florida basketball finalizing matchup with in-state rival Miami Hurricanes in November Florida basketball is closing in on an agreement to take on the Miami Hurricanes in Jacksonville this coming season, according to Swamp247's Graham Hall. The two programs are eyeing Sunday, Nov. 16, as the date for the neutral-court matchup between two in-state rivals. According to the report, the Gators have already agreed to a contract with the City of Jacksonville, while the 'Canes are expected to follow suit in the near future. However, Hall did not indicate a projected decision date. It will be the 70th meeting between the Sunshine State schools and the first with head coach Todd Golden at the helm of the Orange and Blue. Florida holds the edge in the all-time series, doubling up Miami at 46-23, and has won six of the last 10 meetings, including two straight. The last time the two teams met on the collegiate parquet was in the second round of the Charleston Classic held in Charleston, South Carolina, back in 2019. The Gators trounced the Hurricanes in a 78-58 beatdown on that late November afternoon. Once finalized, Miami joins the Arizona Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils and UConn Huskies on Florida's non-conference schedule, as well as the inevitable matchup with the Florida State Seminoles. There is also the Rady Children's Invitational at the end of November in which the Gators will compete against the Providence Friars, TCU Horned Frogs and Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin basketball schedules nonconference game against recent NCAA Tournament opponent

Wisconsin basketball schedules nonconference game against recent NCAA Tournament opponent The Wisconsin Badgers will square off against the BYU Cougars on Nov. 21, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. In a rematch of the epic showdown in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament round of 32, the two teams will tip off at the Delta Center, the home of the NBA's Utah Jazz, in mid-November. The Cougars claimed a 91-89 victory in the March 22 tournament showdown between the two teams in Denver, Colorado. The matchup is expected to be the first of a home-and-home, with BYU set to travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2026. The news also arrives on the heels of star guard John Blackwell's decision to return to Wisconsin for the 2025-26 slate. The rising junior dropped 21 points, snared six rebounds and dished out three assists in a game-high 38 minutes in the season-ending two-point loss. Both BYU and Wisconsin's rosters will appear much different when the two squads take the hardwood in November. With the departures of star wing John Tonje, veteran center Steven Crowl, guard Max Klesmit and bench contributors Carter Gilmore and Kamari McGee, Greg Gard turned to the portal. Former San Diego State guard Nick Boyd, Virginia wing Andrew Rhode and Portland forward Austin Rapp are projected to suit up alongside Blackwell and center Nolan Winter in UW's 2025-26 starting lineup. Senior guard Braeden Carrington, forward Aleksas Bieliauskas, sophomore Jack Robison and true freshmen true freshman Zach Kinziger, Hayden Jones and Will Garlock are also forecasted to assume some of the bench responsibilities for the Badgers this fall. BYU will return star Richie Saunders, who dropped 25 against the Badgers in the NCAA Tournament, and starting center Keba Keita. Kevin Young's most significant asset will be freshman small forward A.J. Dybantsa, a five-star recruit and projected No. 1 pick of the 2026 NBA draft. Dybantsa's pull has already landed BYU non-conference games against Villanova, UConn, Wisconsin and Clemson. Wisconsin is looking to build off its final 27-10 record during the 2024-25 slate, a season which culminated in a Big Ten tournament title game appearance and No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The test against BYU's talent will serve as an indicator of how well Gard's new pieces can coalesce early in the season. Wisconsin's November schedule also includes a high-profile four-team tournament in San Diego, California -- the Rady Children's Invitational. Florida basketball adding this Ivy League school to 2025-26 schedule

Florida basketball adding this Ivy League school to 2025-26 schedule The Florida basketball program is finalizing an agreement that will see it host the Dartmouth Big Green during the upcoming 2025-26 campaign, according to college hoops bracketologist Rocco Miller of Bracketeer. The reported date for the matchup is tentatively set for Monday, Dec. 29, inside the O'Connell Center. Once the agreement is set in stone, it will give the Gators their second solo matchup set so far for the coming fall. Currently, the Orange and Blue have a date set with the Arizona Wildcats to open the season on Monday, Nov. 3, in Las Vegas. The team is also locked into the Rady Children's Invitational from Nov. 27-28, where they will compete among a four-team field that includes the Providence Friars, TCU Horned Frogs and Wisconsin Badgers, in San Diego. Last year, the Big Green finished the season with an even 14-14 record, which included an 8-6 mark against fellow Ivy League schools. Dartmouth's season ended in the conference tournament, where it lost to the Cornell Big Red in the semifinals. Florida took home the championship trophy after winning both the Southeastern Conference Tournament and the NCAA Tournament, finishing with a 36-4 record overall and a 14-4 tally against SEC opposition.
